Leiomyomas are benign, well-circumscribed, monoclonal smooth muscle tumors. While leiomyoma of the uterus are exceedingly common, soft tissue leiomyomas are rare and often misdiagnosed. While excisional therapy is the mainstay of treatment, wide vulvar excisions can cause significant discomfort and disfigurement of the vulva. Here we present a unique case of a vulvar hematoma excision complicated by hematoma formation. A 39-year-old female presented to the ambulatory gynecology clinic with a 4-month history of an enlarging vulvar mass. On exam, a 4-cm mass was seen arising from the right upper labium. Home based medical care (HBMC), part of Optum’s UnitedHealth division, delivers in-home urgent care to medically complex patients at high risk for hospitalization. A nurse is dispatched to the home and a provider connects via telemedicine to conduct the visit. Currently, there is no standardized documentation tool to communicate physical assessment findings between the in-home nurse and the telemedicine provider. A literature review was conducted using PubMed and CINAHL with search terms including nursing satisfaction, physical assessment, EMR, template, standardized tool, and documentation. Background: Ovarian cancer is a leading cause of gynecologic cancer mortality, with Black women experiencing 5-year survival rates of only 41%. Disproportionate air pollution exposure may impact survival. We evaluated associations of fine particulate matter (PM_2.5) and nitrogen dioxide (NO₂) exposure with survival among Black women with epithelial ovarian cancer using data from the California Cancer Registry (CCR, n = 540) and the multi-state African American Cancer Epidemiology Study (AACES, n = 766).

Schistosomiasis, a parasitic disease caused by flatworms of genus Schistosoma, is a neglected tropical disease that causes significant morbidity in the developing world. Despite numerous efforts to eradicate the disease, the parasite remains a significant global burden, particularly within Sub-Saharan Africa. BACKGROUND: Segmental rib fractures in blunt thoracic trauma present with increased morbidity and mortality with an association of increased pulmonary insult and concomitant injuries. The vertical jump (VJ) is one of the most important movements for basketball athletes and therefore determining modifiable predictors of the VJ would aid substantially in crafting more effective training regimens. The purpose of this study was to determine if isokinetic quadriceps strength and torque predict VJ height and which characteristics and testing speed is the strongest predictor of VJ height. The objective of this project was to examine the relationship between deep pressure intervention and occupational performance with children. The Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Review (PRISMA) guideline was used to conduct this systematic review. Articles published between 2014 to 2024, and participants ≥28 weeks to 18 years old were included. This population received a deep pressure stimulation intervention while occupational performance was an outcome measure in this review. Twelve articles met the inclusion criteria and research objective; eight Level 1 Randomized Control Trials, three Level III, and one Level III multiple baseline study. Blue-collar workers often encounter significant barriers to healthful eating. This study aimed to assess the nutritional knowledge and perceptions of the dietetics field among blue-collar workers in the Inland Empire. Eighty-four eligible participants completed an anonymous online survey assessing nutrition knowledge and views on Registered Dietitians (RDs). The average nutrition knowledge score among surveyed blue-collar workers was 20 out of 25 (80%). There were no significant differences in nutrition knowledge based on RD visit history, age, gender, or occupation. However, significant disparities in nutrition knowledge were observed across racial/ethnic groups, with Asian participants scoring lower and White participants scoring higher. …

Long-acting injectable formulation of cabotegravir/rilpivirine (CAB/RPV) is a promising novel maintenance therapy for HIV infection. However, coinfection with active hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection is a contraindication to initiating this therapy. Despite guidelines, patients with HBV immunity can still contract acute HBV infection. We report a case of a 30-year-old man with HIV who transitioned from antiretroviral therapy to CAB/RPV and had confirmed HBV immunity. The patient, though asymptomatic, showed significantly elevated liver function tests (LFTs) before his monthly CAB/RPV injection. He was hospitalized and diagnosed with acute HBV infection. Introduction: This study uses the Exploration, Preparation, Implementation , and Sustainment (EPIS) model to retrospectively describe the mail-based overdose education and naloxone distribution (OEND) program developed in collaboration with the Kentucky Department of Corrections (DOC) for use in the HEALing Communities Study in Kentucky (HCS-KY) and details the reach of this innovative delivery model.

The use of metallic nanoparticles (MtNPs) as key ingredients in cosmetics has become more widespread due to their demonstrated benefits. However, the use of these products remains controversial, as some studies have shown that MtNPs can penetrate the deeper layers of the skin and disrupt homeostatic balance. Objective: To develop and validate a HyperArc-based RapidPlan (HARP) model for three-fraction brain stereotactic radiotherapy (SRT) plans to then use to replan previously treated five-fraction SRT plans. Demonstrating the possibility of reducing the number of fractions while achieving acceptable organs-at-risk (OAR) doses with improved target biological effective dose (BED) to brain lesions. Objective: Measurement-based patient specific quality assurance (PSQA) is an increasingly debated topic among medical physicists. Developments like online adaptive radiotherapy and same-day stereotactic treatments limit the time to do measurement-based PSQA. Herein, we develop a predictive machine learning model to supplement PSQA by predicting the gamma passing rate (GPR) per stereotactic arc. Currently, ocular disease is primarily managed with COMS plaque brachytherapy. Various stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS) platforms have also been employed, yet widespread access remains a challenge. Herein, we demonstrate the feasibility of using the HyperArc SRS system to provide an additional platform for the treatment of ocular malignancies.

Twenty previously treated COMS patients with ocular melanoma were selected for a retrospective HyperArc SRS planning study. The average gross tumor volume (GTV) derived from MRI was 1.19 ± 0.60 cc. The purpose of the study was to investigate the role of family support, friends' support, community support, and prayer on the psychological well-being of cancer patients in Canada.

Methodology

A survey research method was used in this study. The survey was distributed through the QuestionPro audience and had 721 viewers, 674 respondents, and 400 participants (i.e., those who completed the survey). The survey completion rate was 59.35%, with an average completion time of 9 minutes.
