Introduction. Proximal tibia physeal fractures in children are not very common but can be dangerous because they can harm popliteal fossa structures, especially the popliteal artery. Popliteal artery injuries (PAI) are most commonly the result of trauma to the lower extremity, including blunt force, hyperextension injuries, complex fractures, and knee dislocations that can compromise popliteal neurovascular structures. Case Presentation. A 14-year-old boy presents to the emergency department after being transferred from an outside hospital 24 hours after a left lower extremity hyperextension injury. BACKGROUND: Research conducted in urban areas has highlighted the impact of housing instability on people who inject drugs (PWID), revealing that it exacerbates vulnerability to drug-related harms and impedes syringe service program (SSP) use. However, few studies have explored the effects of houselessness on SSP use among rural PWID. Acute myeloid leukemia (AML) encompasses a diverse group of cancers that originate in the blood-forming tissues of the bone marrow. Aside from the M3 subtype (PML-RARA⁺), AML carries a 5-year survival rate of 28% for patients 20+ years of age. AML is the most common cancer of the hematopoietic system and is slightly more common in biological males; the average age at diagnosis is 68 years. Materials and methods: A 14-item questionnaire, developed by the European Centers for Disease Control (ECDC), was presented online to MSM, aged ?18 years old, via smartphone applications (Grindr and Hornet), between June 30th and August 12th, 2022. Background/aim: It is known that the correlation of pulmonary function tests (PFT) with muscle dysfunction is insufficient. Here, we aimed to evaluate the diaphragm functions in individuals with Friedreich?s ataxia (FRDA) and to examine its relationship with respiratory parameters and disease severity. Materials and methods: This prospective study, conducted between November and December 2022, at Erciyes University, included 14 individuals with genetically confirmed FRDA and an age- and gender-matched healthy control group of eight individuals.
