Many individuals receiving cancer directed therapy are at risk of developing hyperglycemia and new, or worsening of, diabetes due to location of their cancer, treatment regimen, and/or prolonged use of steroids. In an attempt to alleviate this problem, with respect to the field of dermatology, we created a deep learning model, Dermatology Enhanced by Recognition and Machine Aided Learning (DERMAL), to assist in diagnosing skin conditions. Chimeric antigen receptor T-cell (CAR-T) therapy has emerged as a great advancement in the field of oncology, offering a targeted and adaptable cancer treatment. Traditional therapies, including surgery, chemotherapy, and radiation often have limitations, such as relapse and resistance, highlighting the need for more precise therapeutic options. CAR-T therapy addresses many of these challenges through engineering a patient’s own T-cells to recognize and destroy cancerous cells with specificity and long-lasting immune activity. Potassium is an essential macronutrient for plant growth and development, yet excessive potassium fertilization can induce salt stress with detrimental consequences for crop productivity and nutritional quality. Despite its agricultural relevance, potassium chloride induced stress remains significantly understudied compared to classical sodium-based salinity. Burnout among critical care nurses (CCNs) is a substantial threat to nurse well-being, patient safety, and workforce stability. The aim of this paper is to identify risk factors contributing to burnout in CCNs using evidence-based articles. An organized literature search was conducted using CINAHL with key terms including critical care nurses, burnout, risk factors, compassion fatigue, and work environment. Five recent peer-reviewed studies meeting inclusion criteria were chosen. The results validate that risk for burnout is vastly influenced by emotional exhaustion, chronic workplace stress, high patient acuity, sleep disturbances, compassion fatigue, insufficient support, and organizational strain. Background: Zebrafish (Danio rerio) models are gaining popularity in biomedical research; however, the high infrastructure cost, at approximately $20,000 per unit, is a significant hurdle for primary undergraduate institutions (PUIs) establishing zebrafish facilities. This scoping review aimed to explore health interventions that address excessive caffeine consumption in college students aged 18–23 years. Excess caffeine intake is associated with a range of health concerns, including neurological, cardiovascular, and behavioral issues, highlighting the need for effective interventions to mitigate its impact on overall wellness. The literature exploring interventions aimed at modifying health behaviors among the college student population is notably limited. Chronic stress leads to severe health consequences, including anxiety, depression, burnout, and physical issues like fatigue and sleep disturbances. This study examined factors predicting stress among a sample (n = 101) of BSW and MSW students attending FHSU. The findings showed that sexual orientation, academic grade point average, and marital status were significant predictors of stress among this sample.

BACKGROUND: Since the inception of spinal radiosurgery decades ago, the factors influencing spinal cord recovery have remained unclear. Elucidating these factors would aid in reirradiation planning and delivery. We describe modeling reirradiation normal tissue complication probabilities (NTCP) from compiled published data, akin to the collaborative Quantitative Analysis of Normal Tissue Effects in the Clinic (QUANTEC) and High Dose per Fraction, Hypofractionated Treatment Effects in the Clinic (HyTEC) projects.

This capstone project developed an educational guide to support law enforcement officers in creating safe and effective interactions with individuals with disabilities. A needs assessment informed the guide’s development, which was grounded in occupational therapy principles and the Person Environment Occupation Performance (PEOP) model. The guide was implemented within a law enforcement setting and evaluated through officer feedback. Findings indicated strong baseline experience among officers, with added value in providing structured strategies to support communication, interpretation, and de-escalation. This project highlights the role of occupational therapy in promoting inclusive, community-based practice.

Objective: While RNAseq has enhanced variant interpretation in postnatal cases, its potential in the prenatal setting remains underexplored. This study investigates the utility of RNAseq in prenatal diagnostics by analyzing the expression profiles of cultured chorionic villus samples (cCVS) and amniotic fluid (cAF) samples.

Methods: We performed RNAseq on 25 prenatal samples (10 cCVS and 15 cAF) and compared their expression profiles with those of postnatal tissues-blood and skin fibroblasts.

There is a lack of tools, play equipment, and structures specifically targeted to children with disabilities (Therrien et al., 2022).
