The misuse and abuse of prescription opioid (PO) medications has garnered the attention of lawmakers, healthcare professionals, and public health experts since the opioid epidemic was declared a national public health emergency in 2017. Our purpose in this study was to investigate the types of healthcare insurance that predict PO misuse. Lysosomes and the endoplasmic reticulum (ER) are Ca2+ stores mobilized by the second messengers NAADP and IP3, respectively. Here, we establish Ca2+ signals between the two sources as fundamental building blocks that couple local release to global changes in Ca2+. Cell-wide Ca2+ signals evoked by activation of endogenous NAADP-sensitive channels on lysosomes comprise both local and global components and exhibit a major dependence on ER Ca2+ despite their lysosomal origin. Knockout of ER IP3 receptor channels delays these signals, whereas expression of lysosomal TPC2 channels accelerates them. Background: Unwanted pregnancies in diabetic women can endanger the mother and the fetus. The present study was conducted to determine contraceptive methods for diabetic women referred to government diabetes clinics in the north of Iran.
Methods: A total of 153 diabetic women referred to government clinics in Guilan were included in this cross-sectional study. A questionnaire made by the researcher regarding personal and social information and information related to contraceptive methods was administered. Data were analyzed analytically using SPSS version 19.

Background: Given the extensive use of e-learning, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic, a validated instrument is deemed important for continuous evaluation. This study aimed to measure health profession education students’ satisfaction toward the e-learning process within all health sciences cluster (HSC) courses, following further validation of the satisfaction scale for the e-learning process.
Methods: A cross-sectional study using an exploratory factor analysis (EFA) was conducted to validate the 29-item Indonesian version of the satisfaction scale for the e-learning process. That the validated tool was used to measure 2,471 students’ satisfaction toward the e-learning process.

Background: This study aims to determine the attitudes and disability awareness of university students who provide health services to persons with disabilities.
Methods: This study included 291 volunteer students studying at the Vocational School of Health Services, Karadeniz Technical University (KTU), and conducting clinical practice at KTU Farabi Hospital. A sociodemographic form was used to determine the individual characteristics of the students included in this study, and the Attitudes toward Disabled Persons Scale (ATDP) was applied to determine their attitudes toward persons with disabilities.

Background: Post-acute COVID-19 is known to affect multiple organs. It is essential to determine factors that affect post-acute COVID-19 syndrome and medications needed by patients for optimized care.
Methods: A prospective cohort study was conducted among patients recruited by stratified sampling from two COVID-19 hospitals in Malaysia. Patients were followed up for 6 months using a standard questionnaire to identify demographics, symptoms, medications taken, and factors associated with post-acute COVID-19 syndrome.

Background: Influenza infection can lead to mortality and morbidity. In densely populated Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, the transmission of influenza-like illness (ILI) is high. This study assessed the prevalence and epidemiology of influenza in the target population.
Methods: A cross-sectional convenience sample study was conducted in government clinics of Cheras, Malaysia, from November 1, 2022, to February 28, 2023. Consent was sought from patients older than 18 years with symptoms of ILI (fever, cough, and onset within 10 days). A nasopharyngeal swab preceded an influenza rapid test. Background: Lichen planus (LP) is an idiopathic inflammatory disease affecting the skin, mucous membranes, hair, and nails. Even though rare, LP may also present as cicatricial alopecia or a condition referred to as lichen planopilaris (LPP). On the other hand, lupus erythematosus (LE) is an autoimmune disorder with a possibility of systemic involvement. Background: Burn injuries generate more free radicals and lead to complex immune dysfunction, which can delay wound healing compared to other wound types. Angiogenesis, essential for wound healing, requires granulation tissue as a marker for successful wound healing. Low concentrations of reactive oxygen species (ROS) are necessary to initiate this process. AIMS: Myocardial infarction (MI) is a major cause of death and disability worldwide. Most metabolomics studies investigating metabolites predicting MI are limited by the participant number and/or the demographic diversity. We sought to identify biomarkers of incident MI in the COnsortium of METabolomics Studies.
METHODS AND RESULTS: We included 7897 individuals aged on average 66 years from six intercontinental cohorts with blood metabolomic profiling (n = 1428 metabolites, of which 168 were present in at least three cohorts with over 80% prevalence) and MI information (1373 cases). Background: Individual case management strategy is not suitable for reducing scabies transmission, especially in high prevalence settings. A community-based approach has been proposed to control scabies. We developed a mobile application, called DeSkab, to empower non-medical personnel in crowded populations e.g., boarding schools, and to aid the identification of skin lesions suggesting scabies based on the cardinal signs of scabies. BACKGROUND: Visual biomarkers of Parkinson's disease (PD) are attractive as the retina is an outpouching of the brain. Although inner retinal neurodegeneration in PD is well-established this has overlap with other neurodegenerative diseases and thus outer retinal (photoreceptor) measures warrant further investigation.
OBJECTIVE: To examine in a cross-sectional study whether clinically implementable measures targeting outer retinal function and structure can differentiate PD from healthy ageing and whether these are sensitive to intraday levodopa (L-DOPA) dosing.

Despite ongoing efforts and commitment to reducing Low Birth Weight (LBW) babies, globally, the incidence of LBW has stagnated. This study uses a combined factor of maternal and husband/partner education variables to analyze the complexity of LBW incidents. This research uses secondary data from the 2017 SDKI with a multilevel logistic regression analysis method to look at the relationship between the similarity of parental education and the baby's birth weight at the individual and community levels. Masalah penyakit tidak menular prioritas di Kota Bukittinggi adalah hipertensi, namun cakupan SPM (25,62%) dan deteksi dini nya (9,20%) masih rendah. Evaluasi sistem surveilans menunjukkan salah satu fungsi pokok surveilans (analisis data) tidak terlaksana. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan analisis data surveilans hipertensi bagi petugas puskesmas. Difteri menjadi salah satu penyebab utama kematian anak dan dewasa pada era pre-vaksin. Insiden difteri secara global kembali meningkat pada beberapa tahun terakhir dengan case fatality rate (CFR) mencapai 10%. Ibadah haji adalah ibadah wajib bagi umat islam yang mampu secara finansial, mental dan fisik. Dalam pelaksanaan ibadah haji, terjadi kumpulan massa yang sangat masif sehingga berpotensi menimbulkan kematian pada jemaah haji akibat beberapa faktor, diantaranya faktor kesehatan, kepadatan, dan cuaca panas. Angka kematian jemaah haji Indonesia masih dinilai tinggi yaitu mencapai 200 kematian diantara 100.000 jemaah haji yang berangkat. Pada tahun 2021, terdapat 252,553 penderita hipertensi di Jakarta Timur. Salah satu faktor penyebab hipertensi adalah kebisingan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat hubungan antara kebisingan dengan tekanan darah penduduk yang tinggal di sekitar Bandara Halim Perdanakusuma. Penelitian dilakukan pada Mei 2023 dengan menggunakan metode observasional analitik dengan desain penelitian cross sectional. Jumlah sampel yaitu 86 responden dengan teknik sampling random walk. Saat ini Indonesia mengalami masalah “triple burden”, yaitu tingginya kasus stunting dan wasting serta masalah gizi berupa obesitas dan kekurangan zat gizi mikro. Prevalensi stunting di Kota Palembang berada pada angka 14,3%, wasting 7,8%, dan obesitas 5,6%. Secara tidak langsung, kondisi geografis merupakan salah satu faktor yang mempengaruhi status gizi. Asuhan berkelanjutan pada ibu hamil di daerah perkotaan bisa saja berbeda dengan di pedesaan. Penelitian ini ingin mengetahui dampak asuhan berkelanjutan pada ibu hamil terhadap kematian neonatus, serta peran tempat tinggal ibu hamil terhadap hubungan tersebut. Tuberkulosis merupakan infeksi opportunistik yang mematikan. WHO melaporkan bahwa TB menjadi penyebab kematian 187.000 pasien HIV. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui gambaran faktor risiko pasien HIV yang menderita TB berdasarkan karakteristik demografi, stadium klinis HIV, status sosial ekonomi dan faktor risiko HIV/AIDS di RSUD Kota Bogor tahun 2016-2021. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif dengan desain studi cross sectional. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan cara purposive sampling dan didapatkan sampel sebanyak 60 responden. Data dianalisis menggunakan uji Chi Square. Hasil penelitian menunjukan jumlah pasien HIV TB (+) periode 2016-2021 di RSUD Kota Bogor sebagian besar berusia < 35 Tahun (73,7%), berjenis kelamin laki laki (90,2%), belum menikah (82,8%) tingkat pendidikan tinggi (71,7%), status tidak bekerja (80%), berada pada stadium klinis 3 dan 4 (82,6%) dan memiliki status sosial ekonomi kurang mampu (81,6%) serta faktor risiko perilaku seksual (72,4%).
