Calpainopathy, also known as limb-girdle muscular dystrophy recessive type 1, is a progressive muscle disorder that impacts the muscles around the hips and shoulders. The disease is caused by defects in the CAPN3 gene and can be inherited in both recessive and dominant forms. In this retrospective study, we aimed to evaluate the clinical and molecular results of our patients with calpainopathy and to examine the CAPN3 variants in Turkish and global populations.Materials and methods: Molecular analyses were performed using the next-generation sequencing (NGS) method. The treatment for multiple sclerosis (MS) does not cure the disease, but it is intended to reduce the intensity, duration, and frequency of symptoms. Rehabilitation therapy (RT), including an individualized physical therapy program (PTP) and adapted occupational therapy (OT), has benefits in terms of aerobic capacity, muscle strength, coordination, and ability to perform activities of daily living (ADL). Extracorporeal blood purification (EBP) therapies have shown promise as potential rescue treatments for patientswith septic shock. However, precise evidence regarding their effectiveness is lacking. Nocturnal enuresis can be frustrating for children and their families as the child ages. Although high muscle strength worsens the sense of force, it is unknown whether there is a relationship betweenthis deterioration and the underlying molecular mechanisms. This study examined the relationship between decreased force sense (FS)acuity and strength-related gene expressions.Materials and methods: Maximal voluntary isometric contraction (MVIC) and FS (50% MVIC) tests were performed on the kneejoints of twenty-two subjects. The distinctive liver framework is converted into structurally abnormal nodules as a consequence of tissue fibrosis in cirrhosis. Cardiac dysfunction in cirrhosis was described, and the term “cirrhotic cardiomyopathy (CCM)” was coined to describe this syndrome. Recent research has shown that the contractile characteristics of the right ventricular outflow tract (RVOT) have a significant impact on right ventricular functions. The Canadian Occupational Performance Measure (COPM) is a person-centered assessment tool frequently used to identify occupational problems in older individuals and establish goals for geriatric rehabilitation. This study aims to assess the validity and reliability of the Turkish version of COPM (COPM-TR) in older people.Materials and methods: One hundred older people completed the COPM-TR, and 25 of them participated in a retest within two weeks. In this study, the BMP15 and GDF9 gene regions were examined through DNA sequencing in some native sheep breeds of Türkiye (Kıvırcık, Karacabey Merino, Chios, Gökçeada, Çine Çaparı, Awassi, and Karakacan). In the BMP15 exon 2 region, two single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) were identified: one synonymous SNP, P248P (proline/proline), and one nonsynonymous SNP, L251P (leucine/proline), resulting in a missense mutation. In the GDF9 exon 1 region, only a nonsynonymous SNP, R87H (histidine/ arginine), was found. Characteristics of asthma in the elderly population is not well-known. The aim of the present study was to evaluateasthma in the elderly population, to compare disease characteristics between patients diagnosed <60 (aged asthma) and ≥60 (elderlyasthma) years of age.Materials and methods: The study was a prospective, multicenter, cross-sectional type. A questionnaire was filled out to patients 60years of age and over, that have been followed for asthma for at least 3 months. Asthma Control Test (ACT), eight-item MoriskyMedication Adherence Scale (MMAS-8) was filled out, inhaler device technique was assessed.Results: A total of 399 patients were included from 17 tertiary care centers across the country. Mean age was 67.11 years and 331 (83%)were female. The age at asthma diagnosis was ≥60 in 146 (36.6%) patients. Patients diagnosed ≥60 years were older (p < 0.001), hadhigher education level (p < 0.001), more commonly had first-degree relative with asthma (p = 0.038), asthma related comorbidities(p = 0.009) and accompanying rhinitis/rhinosinusitis (p = 0.005), had better asthma control (p = 0.001), were using less controllermedications (p = 0.014). Inhaler technique was correct in 37% of the patients with no difference in between the groups. Treatmentcompliance was better in elderly asthma patients (p < 0.001). In the multivariate logistic regression analysis, having well-controlledasthma (odds ratio = 1.61, CI = 1.04–2.51), and high medication adherence rate (odds ratio = 2.43, CI = 1.48–4.0) were associated withbeing in the elderly asthma group.Conclusion: The characteristics of asthma are different among patients aged 60 years and over which seems to be related to onset age ofasthma. In our cohort, the elderly asthma patients had higher education level, and treatment adherence and asthma control was better.Patients diagnosed ≥60 years of age did not have more severe disease.

In the study, 12 (6 females, 6 males) healthy adult New Zealand rabbits were used to examine the morphometrical andstereological values. White matter, gray matter and total segment volume of the segments in the pars lumbalis were calculated byCavalieri’s principle. The findings were grouped according to sexand statistically evaluated. The common consensus is that owning pets affects human health positively. However, the effects of owning pets on mental health are still controversial. Therefore, the present study aimed to determine the possible associated with depression, anxiety, stress, and owning cats and dogs in Türkiye. Additionally, the potential impact of personality traits on this relationship was examined. This study included 636 participants, of whom 52% were female (Mage = 33.02, SD = 15.78). The aim of this study was to determine the contribution of growth performance, nutrient content and digestibility of different triticale varieties to ruminant diets and to indirectly assist farmers in feed production. The experiment utilized 5 triticale varieties. The study was designed as a randomized complete block design with split plots and 3 replications. Guyana remains one of four countries in the Americas endemic for lymphatic filariasis (LF). Elimination of LF requires repeated annual mass drug administration (MDA) with sufficient levels of coverage for success. This study assesses the acceptability and never treatment of LF MDA using data from a routine assessment survey in 2021. A subset of individuals, over 20 years of age (n = 2498), were selected to receive an expanded questionnaire to examine factors associated with acceptability and never treatment.
