The study aimed to assess the parental perception of improvement in prelinguistic skills in children with Autism Spectrum disorder [ASD] after 1 and 2 months of Goal Directed Cognitive Approach. This was assessed by a questionnaire filled by parents of 26 consecutive ASD kids at a neurodevelopmental center. Parents were asked to rate these skills on a Likert scale of 1-5 before and after 1 month and 2 months of GDCA to check for any improvement. 69% of ASD kids were boys. Prader-Willi Syndrome (PWS) is an epigenetic disorder caused by the absence of paternal gene expression on chromosome 15q11-q13. It typically presents with hypotonia, hyperphagia, obesity, and short stature. Oculocutaneous Albinism (OCA) is an autosomal recessive disorder characterized by hypopigmentation of the skin and hair, resulting from mutations in the OCA genes. Acquired hemolytic anemia, caused by external factors like autoimmune disorders or infections, includes rare cases of Cold Agglutinin Syndrome (CAS), a cold-antibody-mediated condition affecting 1 in 1 million annually. This report highlights a unique case of CAS in a patient with Non-Hodgkin lymphoma and polyclonal gammopathy, contrasting with the typical presentation of warm-reactive autoantibodies and monoclonal antibodies. The patient presented with weakness, breathlessness, and splenomegaly, with laboratory findings showing a hemoglobin level of 5.8 g/dL and elevated ferritin. Prior studies reported conflicting findings regarding the association of nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) and liver fibrosis with measures of brain health. We examined whether NAFLD and liver fibrosis are associated with structural brain imaging measures in middle- and old-age adults.

Methods

In this cross-sectional study among dementia- and stroke-free individuals, data were pooled from the Offspring and Third Generation cohorts of the Framingham Heart Study (FHS), the Rotterdam Study (RS), and the Study of Health in Pomerania. This article provides an early analysis of the potential for creating future biosimilar competition for cell and gene therapies (CGTs) to lower prices and improve patient access, building on a unique set of interviews with relevant experts. Our discussion addressed regulatory, manufacturing, intellectual property, and market size challenges. Due to CGTs’ complexity, meeting the regulatory requirement of ‘high similarity with no clinically meaningful differences’ will be difficult. Gene therapies are likely better candidates for biosimilar development than cell therapies. Purpose

This retrospective analysis of electronic medical record (EMR) data investigated the natural history of myopic progression in children from optometric practices in Ireland.

Methods

The analysis was of myopic patients aged 7–17 with multiple visits and not prescribed myopia control treatment. Sex- and age-specific population centiles for annual myopic progression were derived by fitting a weighted cubic spline to empirical quantiles. These were compared to progression rates derived from control group data obtained from 17 randomised clinical trials (RCTs) for myopia. การศึกษานี้มีวัตประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาผลของการฝึกรำไทยสมาธิต่อการควบคุมระดับน้ำตาลในเลือด การทำงานของไต สมรรถภาพทางกาย ตัวบ่งชี้ทางชีวเคมีในเลือด และคุณภาพชีวิตของผู้สูงอายุที่เป็นโรคไตจากเบาหวาน กลุ่มตัวอย่างเป็นผู้สูงอายุโรคไตเรื้อรังจากเบาหวาน อายุระหว่าง 60-75 ปี ถูกสุ่มแบ่งออกเป็น 2 กลุ่ม ได้แก่ 1) กลุ่มที่ไม่ได้รับการฝึก (CON) จำนวน 19 คน และ 2) กลุ่มฝึกรำไทยสมาธิ (TDM) จำนวน 17 คน ที่ได้รับการฝึกรำไทยสมาธิ ที่ความหนัก 40-60 เปอร์เซ็นต์ของอัตราการเต้นหัวใจสำรอง ครั้งละ 50 นาที จำนวน 3 ครั้งต่อสัปดาห์ เป็นระยะเวลา 12 สัปดาห์ ทำการทดสอบตัวแปรด้านสรีรวิทยา สารชีวเคมีในเลือด สมรรถภาพทางกาย การทำงานของหลอดเลือด ความแปรปรวนของอัตราการเต้นของหัวใจ ความเครียดและคุณภาพชีวิต ทำการวิเคราะห์ข้อมูลเปรียบเทียบก่อนและหลังการฝึก และเปรียบเทียบระหว่างกลุ่มด้วยการทดสอบความแปรปรวนสองทางแบบวัดซ้ำ (2 กลุ่ม x 2 เวลา) และเปรียบเทียบความแตกต่างแบบรายคู่โดยใช้วิธีการทดสอบแอลเอสดี ภายหลังการฝึก 12 สัปดาห์ พบว่ากลุ่มรำไทยสมาธิมีน้ำหนักตัว ไขมันในช่องท้อง ความดันโลหิตช่วงหัวใจบีบตัวและคลายตัวลดลงอย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติที่ระดับ .05 ระดับไกลโคซิเลทฮีโมโกลบิน ยูเรียไนโตรเจน มาลอนไดอัลดีไฮด์ ทูเมอร์ เนโครซิส แฟกเตอร์-อัลฟา และ อินเตอร์ลิวคิน-6 ลดลง ในขณะที่ค่าอัตราการกรองของไต ซูเปอร์ออกไซด์ดิสมิวเทส และไนตริก ออกไซด์ เพิ่มขึ้นอย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติที่ระดับ .05 นอกจากนี้ ค่าการขยายตัวของหลอดเลือดหลังการปิดกั้นการไหลเวียน ซึ่งเป็นการวัดการขยายตัวของหลอดเลือดที่ขึ้นอยู่กับเอนโดทีเลียมเพิ่มขึ้น ความแข็งของหลอดเลือดแดงและดัชนีความต้านทานของไตลดลงอย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติที่ระดับ .05 อีกทั้งกลุ่มรำไทยสมาธิยังมีค่าความแปรปรวนของอัตราการเต้นของหัวใจความถี่สูงเพิ่มขึ้น ระดับความเครียดและความวิตกกังวลลดลง และมีคุณภาพชีวิตที่เพิ่มขึ้นอย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติที่ระดับ .05 สรุปได้ว่า การฝึกรำไทยสมาธิมีประโยชน์หลากหลายด้านต่อผู้สูงอายุที่เป็นโรคไตจากเบาหวาน อันได้แก่ส่งเสริมการทำงานของไตและหลอดเลือด ควบคุมระดับน้ำตาลในเลือด เพิ่มการทำงานของสารต้านอนุมูลอิสระ และลดสารอนุมูลอิสระ ความเครียด และความวิตกกังวล

การศึกษานี้เป็นการวิจัยเชิงพรรณนา ณ จุดเวลาใดเวลาหนึ่ง มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาความชุกและปัจจัยที่เกี่ยวข้องกับอาการผิดปกติทางระบบกล้ามเนื้อและกระดูกโครงร่างในกลุ่มช่างติดตั้งนั่งร้านจากบริษัทรับติดตั้งนั่งร้านในจังหวัดระยองทั้งหมด 4 บริษัท เก็บรวบรวมข้อมูลเป็นจำนวน 429 คน ในระหว่างวันที่ 1 เมษายน พ.ศ. 2567 ถึงวันที่ 2 สิงหาคม พ.ศ. 2567 โดยใช้แบบสอบถาม Nordic Musculoskeletal Questionnaire (NMQ) และแบบสอบถาม Body Discomfort Questionnaire วิเคราะห์ข้อมูลด้วยสถิติเชิงพรรณนาและ Multiple logistic regression ผลการศึกษาพบความชุกของอาการผิดปกติของระบบกล้ามเนื้อและกระดูกโครงร่างในตำแหน่งใดอย่างน้อย 1 ตำแหน่ง ในระยะเวลา 7 วัน และ 12 เดือน เท่ากับร้อยละ 60.5 และ 57.5 ตามลำดับ โดยบริเวณที่มีความชุกสูงที่สุดคือหลังส่วนล่างและไหล่ ปัจจัยที่มีความสัมพันธ์อย่างมีนัยสำคัญกับอาการเหล่านี้ ได้แก่ ระดับการศึกษา รายได้ สถานภาพสมรส เพศ และชั่วโมงการทำงาน จากผลการศึกษานี้ สะท้อนให้เห็นว่าช่างติดตั้งนั่งร้านมีความชุกของอาการผิดปกติทางระบบกล้ามเนื้อและกระดูกโครงร่างค่อนข้างสูง สถานประกอบการควรดำเนินโครงการสร้างเสริมสุขภาพ ให้ความรู้เกี่ยวกับท่าทางการทำงานที่ถูกต้องตามหลักการยศาสตร์ และส่งเสริมการยืดเหยียดกล้ามเนื้อ เพื่อลดความเสี่ยงและป้องกันการเกิดอาการผิดปกติ

These pressure injuries can be attributed from medical devices such as Endotracheal tubes, nasogastric tubes, chest tubes etc. Diligent care and assessment of skin is crucial upon admission. Aggressive measures need to be implemented early through prevention protocols, the Air-tap turning system, appropriate bed education, placement of foams/Z-flex boots on arrival to unit. Religious diet books highlight the overlap between religious and diet cultures. This article examines the intersection of Mormonism, diet culture, and fatphobia through an analysis of Mormon diet books published between 1990 and 2015. The study explores how Mormon diet books leverage the Word of Wisdom (the LDS health code) to promote weight loss and reinforce religious obedience. By framing dietary compliance as a spiritual mandate, these texts link physical health and body size to moral and spiritual worthiness. Healthcare chaplains address broad social and emotional dimensions of care within a pluralistic religious landscape. Although the development and evaluation of chaplaincy interventions has advanced the field, little research has investigated factors influencing the implementation of new chaplain interventions. In this mixed-method study, we examined attitudes about evidence-based interventions held by chaplain residents (n = 39) at the outset of an ACPE-accredited residency program in the southeast United States. We also used semi-structured interviews (n = 9) to examine residents' attitudes, beliefs, and decision-making processes after they trained in the delivery of a novel manualized intervention, Compassion-Centered Spiritual Health (CCSH). …
