Learning experiences within the dietetics and human nutrition undergraduate curricula develop knowledge and skills pertinent to student career goals. Core competency requirements are extensively assessed in these programs, yet the communication of transferable skills gained and student professional readiness are rarely examined. The purpose of this study was to evaluate undergraduate students' perceived professional readiness following six professional development workshops on transferable skills and career preparedness communicated through resumes and personal statements. Gaining a better understanding of this relationship could provide valuable insights that may assist employers and professional programs to develop a plan, which could better facilitate the transition.

A quality patient experience is one of the highest priorities for hospitals as patients and families are looking to healthcare providers to meet their demands for quality service. The Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (HCAHPS) survey measures the extent to which providers effectively communicate pertinent information such as communication about medications. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the health outcomes of diabetic patients in Puerto Rico, before, during, and after Hurricane Maria, in 2017. The Department of Health in Puerto Rico provided the secondary data for the variables low-density lipoproteins (LDL) cholesterol, hemoglobin A1C (HbA1c), mortality, and consumer price index (CPI). Objective: This single-center, retrospective, observational cohort study evaluates the appropriateness of the BioFire® FilmArray® Gastrointestinal (GI) multiplex PCR panel testing at a community-teaching hospital. Methods: All adult, hospitalized patients at Prisma Health Richland Hospital with a documented GI multiplex PCR panel from 1 April 2015 through 28 February 2018 were included in the analysis. Inappropriate use of the GI panel was defined as a test obtained without documented diarrhea, greater than 2 days of hospitalization, redundant use with other diagnostic tests (e.g. PCR), or laxative use in the preceding 48 h. Self-medication and antibiotic utilization without healthcare oversight may lead to delayed appropriate treatment, transmission of communicable infections, untoward adverse events, and contribute to antimicrobial resistance. Previous data suggest people obtain over-the-counter (OTC) animal antibiotics for their personal use. This study examined the availability of OTC fish antibiotics online and the documented intent for self-medication. The authors conducted a web-based cross-sectional study using Google search engine to identify vendor websites selling fish antibiotics in the United States. Social media is increasingly utilized as a resource in healthcare. We sought to identify perceptions of using social media as an educational tool among healthcare practitioners. An electronic survey was distributed to healthcare administrators, nurses, nurse practitioners, pharmacists, physicians, and physician assistants f hospital systems and affiliated health science schools in Georgia, Maryland, South Carolina, and Wisconsin. Survey questions evaluated respondents' use and views of social media for educational purposes and workplace accessibility using a Likert scale (1 = strongly disagree, 5 = strongly agree). Introduction: This capstone assessed and addressed the issue of occupational opioid exposure among first responders working in the southeastern United States from 2017-2019. The first study aimed to assess the emerging issue of occupational opioid exposure as well as current knowledge and training practices among first responders of the following southeastern states: Kentucky, Georgia, Mississippi, and Virginia. The second study aimed to address this emerging issue through formative research followed by evaluation of the impact of an educational video and associated knowledge gained with a group of Kentucky-based first responders.

Periodontitis is a common chronic inflammatory condition that results in increased levels of inflammatory cytokines and inflammatory mediators. In addition to oral disease and tooth loss, it also causes low-grade systemic inflammation that contributes to development of systemic conditions including cardiovascular disease, pre-term birth, diabetes and cancer. Chronic inflammation is associated with epigenetic change, and it has been suggested that such changes can alter cell phenotypes in ways that contribute to both ongoing inflammation and development of associated pathologies. Background: High fat diet impact transcription of hepatic genes responsible for drug metabolism and pharmacokinetics. Until now, researches just focused on a couple specific genes without a global profile showing. Age-dependent manner was also not noted well. This study aims to investigate the high fat diet effect on transcriptome of drug metabolism and pharmacokinetic system in mouse livers and show the age-dependent evidence.

Myo/Nog cells were discovered in the chick embryo epiblast. Their expression of MyoD reflects a commitment to the skeletal muscle lineage and capacity to differentiate into myofibroblasts. Release of Noggin by Myo/Nog cells is essential for normal morphogenesis. Myo/Nog cells rapidly respond to wounding in the skin and eyes. In this report, we present evidence suggesting that Myo/Nog cells phagocytose tattoo ink in tissue sections of human skin and engulf cell corpses in cultures of anterior human lens tissue and magnetic beads injected into the anterior chamber of mice in vivo. วัตถุประสงค์: เพื่อศึกษาความรักใคร่ผูกพันระหว่างมารดาและทารก และปัจจัยทำนายความรักใคร่ผูกพันระหว่างมารดาและทารกในหญิงตั้งครรภ์วัยรุ่น

แบบแผนการวิจัย: การวิจัยแบบหาความสัมพันธ์เชิงทํานาย

วิธีดำเนินการวิจัย: กลุ่มตัวอย่าง คือ หญิงตั้งครรภ์วัยรุ่นที่มารับบริการฝากครรภ์ ที่แผนกฝากครรภ์ โรงพยาบาลชลบุรี และโรงพยาบาลบางละมุง จำนวน 170 ราย เครื่องมือวิจัยประกอบด้วย 1) แบบสอบถามข้อมูลส่วนบุคคล 2) แบบสอบถามความรักใคร่ผูกพันที่หญิงตั้งครรภ์วัยรุ่นไทยมีต่อทารกในครรภ์ 3) แบบสอบถามสัมพันธภาพระหว่างคู่สมรส 4) แบบสอบถามการถูกกระทำรุนแรงจากคู่สมรส และ 5) แบบสอบถามการสนับสนุนทางสังคม แบบสอบถามที่ 2-5 มีค่าความเชื่อมั่นเท่ากับ .94, .87, .93 และ .82 ตามลำดับ วิเคราะห์ข้อมูลด้วยสถิติเชิงพรรณนา และการวิเคราะห์ถดถอยพหุคูณแบบนำเข้า

ผลการวิจัย: หญิงตั้งครรภ์วัยรุ่นมีความรักใคร่ผูกพันระหว่างมารดาและทารกระดับดี ปัจจัยที่สามารถทำนายความรักใคร่ผูกพันระหว่างมารดาและทารกในหญิงตั้งครรภ์วัยรุ่นได้อย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติ ได้แก่ สัมพันธภาพระหว่างคู่สมรส การวางแผนการตั้งครรภ์ ประสบการณ์การถูกกระทำรุนแรงจากคู่สมรส อายุครรภ์ และการสนับสนุนทางสังคม โดยปัจจัยทั้งหมดสามารถร่วมกันอธิบายความแปรปรวนของความรักใคร่ผูกพันระหว่างมารดาและทารกในหญิงตั้งครรภ์วัยรุ่นได้ร้อยละ 37.9 (F(5, 164) = 20.046, p < .001)

สรุป: พยาบาลควรนำไปใช้เป็นแนวทางพัฒนารูปแบบการพยาบาล โดยมีการประเมินปัจจัยดังกล่าว และส่งเสริมให้ครอบครัวเข้ามามีส่วนร่วมในการดูแลสนับสนุน เพื่อส่งเสริมความรักใคร่ผูกพันระหว่างมารดาและทารกในหญิงตั้งครรภ์วัยรุ่นให้ดียิ่งขึ้น

ผลการวิจัย: ประสบการณ์การดูแลตนเองในการป้องกันการหกล้มซ้ำของผู้สูงอายุ ประกอบด้วย 5 ประเด็นหลัก คือ 1) เหตุที่หกล้มเป็นเพราะประมาทหรือถึงคราวเคราะห์ 2) หลากหลายความรู้สึก ทำให้เข็ดไม่อยากล้มซ้ำ 3) ล้มแล้วเร่งจัดการ ประเมินอาการและดูแลรักษา 4) ป้องกันไม่ให้หกล้มซ้ำ ต้องมีสติกำกับทุกย่างก้าว ต้องระวังพร้อมปรับตัว และ 5) ครอบครัว มีส่วนร่วมช่วยป้องกันล้ม

สรุป: ผลการวิจัยนี้ นำมาเป็นข้อมูลพื้นฐานให้บุคลากรทางสุขภาพส่งเสริมสนับสนุนให้ผู้สูงอายุและครอบครัวตระหนักรู้วิธีดูแลตนเองในการป้องกันการหกล้มซ้ำเพื่อนำไปสู่การดูแลตนเองที่ยั่งยืน

ผลการวิจัย: รูปแบบการเสริมสร้างศักยภาพของศูนย์พัฒนาเด็กเล็กที่พัฒนาขึ้น ใช้กลยุทธ์หลัก 3 ข้อ  คือ 1) การพัฒนาศักยภาพ 2) การมีส่วนร่วม และ 3) การเสริมแรงทางบวก ภายหลังการนำรูปแบบไปใช้ ครูพี่เลี้ยงและผู้ปกครองมีความรู้ในการส่งเสริมพัฒนาการเด็กเพิ่มขึ้น อยู่ในระดับสูง ร้อยละ 24.17  ระดับปานกลาง ร้อยละ 48.27 ตามลำดับ ส่วนทักษะการประเมินพัฒนาการเด็ก พบว่า อยู่ในระดับสูง ร้อยละ 41.38 และระดับปานกลาง ร้อยละ 58.62  ตามลำดับ เมื่อเปรียบเทียบค่าคะแนนเฉลี่ยของความรู้ภายหลังการพัฒนา พบว่ามีค่าคะแนนเฉลี่ยความรู้สูงขึ้นกว่าก่อนการพัฒนา (  =12.60 S.D.=2.53) และคะแนนเฉลี่ยของทักษะปฏิบัติการประเมินและส่งเสริมพัฒนาการเด็กก็มีคะแนนเฉลี่ยสูงขึ้นกว่าก่อนการพัฒนา ( =14.71 S.D.=2.54) อย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติ (p<.05) จนส่งให้เด็กมีพัฒนาการสมวัยเพิ่มขึ้น ถึงร้อยละ 96.30 และได้รับการติดตามช่วยเหลือ ร้อยละ 100

ข้อสรุป: ปัจจัยแห่งความสำเร็จในการพัฒนาคือการให้ความสำคัญต่อการพัฒนาคนให้มีความรู้ที่ถูกต้องเพื่อนำไปสู่การส่งเสริมพัฒนาการเด็กที่มีคุณภาพที่ส่งผลต่อคุณภาพชีวิตของเด็กในอนาคต การให้ทุกฝ่ายได้มีส่วนร่วมในการพัฒนาและสร้างพลังผลักดันให้เกิดรูปแบบอย่างเป็นรูปธรรมสามารถนำไปใช้เป็นแนวทางในการส่งเสริมพัฒนาการเด็กได้ทุกช่วงวัย

วัตถุประสงค์: เพื่อศึกษาผลของโปรแกรมการเสริมสร้างพลังอำนาจของมารดาต่อการรับรู้ความสามารถ และปริมาณน้ำนมที่บีบเก็บได้ ของมารดาในการให้นมบุตรที่คลอดก่อนกำหนด

แบบแผนการวิจัย: การวิจัยกึ่งทดลอง

วิธีดำเนินการวิจัย: กลุ่มตัวอย่าง คือ มารดาที่คลอดทารกก่อนกำหนด จำนวน 30 คน เครื่องมือที่ใช้ในการวิจัย คือ โปรแกรมการเสริมสร้างพลังอำนาจในการให้นมแม่ในมารดาที่มีทารกคลอดก่อนกำหนด ตึกเด็ก 1-2 โรงพยาบาลสรรพสิทธิประสงค์ จังหวัดอุบลราชธานี แบบสอบถามการรับรู้ความสามารถในการให้นมแม่ในมารดาที่มีทารกคลอดก่อนกำหนด แบบสอบถามพลังอำนาจในการให้นมแม่ มีค่าสัมประสิทธิ์แอลฟาครอนบาคเท่ากับ .92 และ .92 วิเคราะห์ข้อมูล ค่าร้อยละ ค่าเฉลี่ย ส่วนเบี่ยงเบนมาตรฐาน และสถิติ Pair t-test ที่ระดับนัยสำคัญทางสถิติ .05

ผลการวิจัย: หลังได้รับโปรแกรมการเสริมสร้างพลังอำนาจในการให้นมแม่ในมารดาที่มีทารกคลอดก่อนกำหนด พบว่า การรับรู้ความสามารถในการให้นมแม่ในมารดาที่มีทารกคลอดก่อนกำหนด และความสามารถในการบีบเก็บน้ำนมได้สูงกว่าก่อนได้รับโปรแกรมเสริมสร้างพลังอำนาจ อย่างมีนัยสำคัญที่ระดับ .05

สรุป: โปรแกรมเสริมสร้างพลังอำนาจในการให้นมแม่ในมารดาที่มีทารกคลอดก่อนกำหนด ตึกเด็ก 1-2 โรงพยาบาลสรรพประสิทธิประสงค์ จังหวัดอุบลราชธานี เพิ่มการรับรู้ความสามารถในการให้นมแม่ในมารดาที่มีทารกคลอดก่อนกำหนด และความสามารถในการบีบเก็บน้ำนมสูงขึ้นได้

วัตถุประสงค์: เพื่อศึกษาผลของโปรแกรมส่งเสริมแรงจูงใจต่อพฤติกรรมความร่วมมือในการรักษาของผู้ป่วยวัณโรคปอด

แบบแผนการวิจัย: การวิจัยกึ่งทดลอง

วิธีดำเนินการวิจัย: กลุ่มตัวอย่าง คือ ผู้ป่วยวัณโรคปอดรายใหม่ที่มารับการรักษาที่คลินิกวัณโรคปอด โรงพยาบาลสระบุรีและโรงพยาบาลพระพุทธบาท จังหวัดสระบุรี จำนวน 90 ราย คัดเลือกตามคุณสมบัติที่กำหนด แบ่งกลุ่มโดยวิธีการสุ่มอย่างง่ายเป็นกลุ่มทดลองและกลุ่มควบคุม กลุ่มละ 45 ราย เครื่องมือที่ใช้ในการวิจัยครั้งนี้ประกอบด้วย 1) โปรแกรมส่งเสริมแรงจูงใจต่อพฤติกรรมความร่วมมือในการรักษาวัณโรค 2) วีดีทัศน์เกี่ยวกับความรู้เรื่องวัณโรคปอด และประสบการณ์ของผู้ป่วยวัณโรคปอด 3) คู่มือวัณโรคปอดและการปฏิบัติตัว 4) แบบบันทึกข้อมูลส่วนบุคคล 5) แบบประเมินพฤติกรรมความร่วมมือในการรักษา และ 6) แบบบันทึกผลการตรวจเสมหะ วิเคราะห์ข้อมูลโดยใช้สถิติเชิงพรรณนา สถิติไคสแควร์ สถิติแมน-วิทนีย์ ยู และสถิติวิลคอกซัน

ผลการวิจัย: 1) พฤติกรรมความร่วมมือในการรักษาของผู้ป่วยวัณโรคปอดหลังได้รับโปรแกรมส่งเสริมแรงจูงใจมีมากกว่าก่อนได้รับโปรแกรมส่งเสริมแรงจูงใจ อย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติที่ระดับ .05 2)พฤติกรรมความร่วมมือในการรักษาของผู้ป่วยวัณโรคปอดกลุ่มที่ได้รับโปรแกรมส่งเสริมแรงจูงใจมีมากกว่ากลุ่มที่ได้รับการพยาบาลตามปกติ อย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติที่ระดับ .05 และ 3) ผลการตรวจเสมหะหลังได้รับโปรแกรมส่งเสริมแรงจูงใจของกลุ่มทดลองมีผลลบมากกว่ากลุ่มควบคุม ร้อยละ 4.44

สรุป: ผลการวิจัยนี้สามารถนำมาเป็นข้อมูลพื้นฐานให้แก่บุคคลากรทางด้านสุขภาพในการส่งเสริมแรงจูงใจของผู้ป่วยวัณโรคปอดให้มีพฤติกรรมความร่วมมือในการรักษา เพื่อนำไปสู่อัตราความสำเร็จในการรักษาเพิ่มขึ้นต่อไป

The original Medicare Part D benefit included a gap in coverage, commonly known as the “doughnut hole,” where beneficiaries were responsible for 100% of drug costs. The Affordable Care Act included provisions to gradually close this gap, beginning in 2011, in order to reduce the financial burden of drug spending for Part D enrollees. Using a nationally representative survey of Medicare beneficiaries, we examined the effect of this policy on out-of-pocket drug spending and medication affordability.
