Obesity is a major contributor to cardiovascular disease; however, the exact mechanism remains incompletely understood. Conventional metrics, like body mass index, fail to represent fat distribution and its impact on health. A growing body of literature suggest differences between subcutaneous and visceral fat in relation to cardiovascular risk. This specificity has also been extended to the fat surrounding the heart, collectively known as pericardial fat, which includes epicardial adipose tissue (EAT)— located between the myocardium and the visceral layer of the pericardium— and paracardial adipose tissue (PAT)—found outside the parietal pericardium in the mediastinum. Over 69 million people older than the age of 5 in the U.S. speak a language other than English at home (U.S. Census, 2022). Of this population, around 38% report speaking English less than "very well" or limited English proficiency, “LEP”. Research has shown patient-provider communication quality in healthcare settings to be directly linked to the provider's ability to deliver safe and suitable care for LEP patients (Au et al., 2009). Executive Order (EO) 13166, signed into law in 2000, requires all federal agencies to implement and document language interpretation services in their establishments (Basu et al., 2017). Chemotherapy-induced cognitive impairment (CICI), commonly referred to as "Chemobrain", represents a significant challenge for cancer survivors, affecting their quality of life by impairing memory, attention, and executive function. This study aims to elucidate the mechanisms behind CICI and evaluate the efficacy of potential neuroprotective agents in mitigating its effects. By focusing and developing in-vitro models, including differentiated SH-SY5Y neuron-like cells, undifferentiated SH- SY5Y neuroblastoma cells and co-culture systems with astrocytoma CCF-STTG1 and human microglia HMC3 cells, this study provides insights into the cellular and molecular alterations induced by chemotherapy and explores the protective capacities of selected compounds.

Fibroblast growth factors (FGFs) are a family of 22 human cytokines involved in critical cellular processes, such as proliferation, differentiation, metabolism, angiogenesis, tumor metastasis, and wound healing. Among these, fibroblast growth factor 1 (FGF1) possesses a powerful mitogenic potential as it can nonspecifically bind to all four FGF receptors. However, the therapeutic applications of FGF1 are hindered by its inherent thermal and proteolytic instability, especially at physiological temperatures. This is believed to be attributed to the heparin-binding pocket at the C-terminus, which contains numerous positively charged residues that repel each other. The purpose of this paper is to explore the athletic and career transitions that student-athletes navigate and to present examples of providing ongoing psychological support for student-athletes through these transitions. Guided by frameworks for understanding athlete change-events, a series of evidence-based propositions are presented to conceptualize how to understand and support collegiate student-athletes through transitions. A specific educational program is explained to provide an example of supporting student-athletes’ goal setting, identity, and life skills transfer during the transition out of college sports and college life. Professional credentialing schemes based on experience and examination are used to clarify the scope and required competencies associated with the practice of a profession. National occupational hygiene (OH) credentials developed in 17 nations have been recognized by the International Occupational Hygiene Association (IOHA) to meet or exceed the requirements of a model certification program. To date, there is no credentialing or certification scheme for occupational hygienists in Spanish-speaking regions. Introduction: This report describes an asymptomatic 63-year-old female with a right paratracheal mass compressing and displacing the trachea to the left. Additionally, the epidemiology, clinical manifestation, diagnosis, and management of mediastinal ectopic thyroids are discussed.

Case Summary: A 63 y/o female with history of hypertension, myasthenia gravis and Type 2 diabetes mellitus had a hospitalization for pneumonia and was incidentally found via chest CT scan with a right paratracheal soft tissue mass with few coarse calcifications measuring 7.5 cm displacing the trachea to the left without compromise of the lumen. Introduction: Clenbuterol is a medication that is relatively unknown outside of the equestrian and bodybuilding worlds. It acts as a sympathomimetic compound with beta-2 agonism and can cause tachycardia and bronchodilation. It is utilized for this bronchodilation as a means of improving equestrian performance. Its sympathomimetic effects were utilized in the bodybuilding community as a weight loss medication by increasing catabolic metabolism. Here we present a case of intentional clenbuterol toxicity for weight loss. Background: There is vast data on the health benefits of physical activity (PA) and the serious health consequences that are associated with a sedentary lifestyle. Research suggests that physicians who have meaningful conversations about exercise with their patients can be effective at increasing their patients' PA. In order to measure the effects of these discussions, the clinician must be able to document the baseline and subsequent PA of their patients.
