Aims: To review the contemporary international literature on nurse preceptor competencies and map the components and their descriptors. Review Methods: A mapping review. Data Sources: Articles reporting evidence-based and validated Registered Nurse (RN) preceptor competencies published between 2013 and 2022 were identified. Open access databases such as PubMed and Google Scholar and the library healthcare databases Scopus and CINAHL were searched. Data summarization can create a concise version of the original data that can be used for effective diagnosis. In this paper, we propose an ensemble summarization method that combines clustering and sampling to create a summary of the original data to ensure the inclusion of rare patterns. Observational epidemiological studies have reported a relationship between remnant cholesterol and stroke. However, the results are inconclusive, and causality remains unclear due to confounding or reverse causality. Our objective in this study was to investigate the causal relevance of remnant cholesterol and the risk of stroke and its subtypes using the Mendelian randomization (MR) approach. Genome-wide association studies (GWASs) including 115,082 European individuals (UK Biobank) were used to identify instruments for remnant cholesterol, including intermediate-density lipoprotein (IDL) cholesterol and very-low-density lipoprotein (VLDL) cholesterol. This research explores the relationship between immune markers and cognitive performance in perinatally HIV-infected youth. While the use of antiretroviral therapy has greatly improved the mortality rate among children with perinatal HIV, these children still experience various health consequences, including cognitive difficulties. Previous studies have reported that children with perinatal HIV have worse cognitive performance in domains of learning, memory, processing speed, executive function, and motor function when compared to their HIV-uninfected peers. The purpose of this study was to survey female high school athletes’ knowledge of sport-related concussion (SRC) long-term impacts. This study utilized the Rosenbaum Concussion Knowledge and Attitudes Survey – Student Version regarding the knowledge and attitudes high school athletes have towards SRCs to determine if they knew the severity of the possible long-term impacts. The survey was distributed to two female contact sport teams at one high school in Northeast Arkansas. Multiple myeloma is a plasma cell neoplasm, which may present as a solitary plasmacytoma and, uncommonly, as an extramedullary plasmacytoma. Intracranial plasmacytomas may manifest in central nervous system involvement as cranial nerve palsies. Cranial nerve six palsy is the most common in cases of malignancy. However, isolated abducens palsy presenting as multiple myeloma recurrence is very uncommon. Here, we detail two cases in which intracranial plasmacytoma lesions were present within the region of the Dorello canal, resulting in acute isolated unilateral diplopia from disease recurrence in the absence of systemic marrow involvement.

The task of producing good quality instrumental music requires musicians to spend many years auditorily training their ears. The purpose of this study was to determine if musicians have advanced central auditory processing (CAP) abilities compared to non-musicians. The participants included nine musicians and ten non-musicians. The SCAN-3:A for adolescents and Adults: Tests for Auditory Processing disorder was administered to each participant. This test included Filtered Words (auditory closure), Auditory Figure Ground (speech in background noise), and Competing Words/Sentences (dichotic listening). The Direct Observation of Procedural Skills (DOPS), Global Assessment of Gastrointestinal Endoscopic Skills (GAGES), and Assessment of Endoscopic Competency (ACE) are widely used validated competency assessment tools for gastrointestinal endoscopy. This study aimed to determine the prevalence of nonspecific chronic LBP among the company's operators, as well as the association between quantitative and qualitative mental workload and nonspecific chronic LBP.

Rotaviruses (RVs) are a major cause of diarrhea in young children worldwide. The currently available and licensed vaccines contain live attenuated RVs. Optimization of live attenuated RV vaccines or developing non-replicating RV (e.g., mRNA) vaccines is crucial for reducing the morbidity and mortality from RV infections. Herein, a nucleoside-modified mRNA vaccine encapsulated in lipid nanoparticles (LNP) and encoding the VP7 protein from the G1 type of RV was developed. The 5' untranslated region of an isolated human RV was utilized for the mRNA vaccine. The development of nanostructured surfaces with antibacterial activity can revolutionize infection control practices. In this study, a hybrid material of Zeolitic imidazolate framework-8 (ZIF-8) doped with phosphomolybdic acid (PMA) was synthesized and characterized by FESEM, EDS, XRD, FTIR, and N2 sorption isotherm. The antibacterial activity against Escherichia coli as a model organism was tested by colony forming unit (CFU) reduction assay, minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC), and time-kill curve. Mutations in the activity-dependent transcription factor MEF2C have been associated with several neuropsychiatric disorders. Among these, autism spectrum disorder (ASD)-related behavioral deficits are manifested. Multiple animal models that harbor mutations in Mef2c have provided compelling evidence that Mef2c is indeed an ASD gene.
