PURPOSE: Psychological distress, including anxiety and depression, is common among adults with CF, associating with poor quality of life, lung function, and healthcare utilization. This 3-year, multi-site, telehealth-delivered randomized trial sought to determine whether Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT with CF) is superior to supportive psychotherapy (SP), in improving psychological functioning for adults with CF.

METHODS: One hundred twenty-four adults with CF and elevated anxiety and/or depressive symptoms were recruited coincident with the first COVID lockdown, from Thomas Jefferson University Hospitals, University of Virginia, Augusta University, Duke University Medical Center, and social media. Background: There is a chronic lack of appropriately qualified nurses and midwives being attracted into and remaining in the academic workforce. Reasons for this are not well understood but have been linked to stressful work environments related to balancing multiple roles in sometimes unsupportive environments, resulting in overload and demoralisation. Aim: To illuminate factors associated with nursing and midwifery academics' intention to remain in academia and factors associated with intention to leave. Background: The 17-item Tampa Scale for Kinesiophobia (TSK) is a commonly used patient-reported outcome measure (PROM) to assess kinesiophobia, but the measurement properties of the TSK in people with femoroacetabular impingement syndrome (FAIS) are unknown. Objectives: 1) Revise the existing TSK by removing items, as needed, with inadequate functioning to optimise the TSK for people with FAIS, and 2) evaluate construct validity (both structural validity and hypothesis testing), internal consistency, and minimal important change. Background: Models of care that are culturally responsive, trauma-informed and provide continuity of care(r), are important components of care for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander parents during the broad perinatal period (pregnancy to 2 years after birth; first 1000 days). Many health services do aim to incorporate these concepts in care provision, but often focus on only one.

Understanding the mechanisms involved in whole body glucose regulation is key for the discovery of new treatments for type 2 diabetes (T2D). Historically, glucose regulation was largely focused on responses to insulin and glucagon. Impacts of incretin-based therapies, and importance of muscle mass, are also highly relevant. Recently, bone was recognized as an endocrine organ, with several bone proteins, known as osteokines, implicated in glucose metabolism through their effects on the liver, skeletal muscle, and adipose tissue. Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), a liver cancer originating from hepatocytes, is a major health concern and among the most common malignancies worldwide. Sorafenib, approved by the U.S. F.D.A., is the primary first-line treatment for patients with advanced HCC. While the preferred first-line systemic regimen for HCC is immunotherapy with Atezolizumab plus bevacizumab or Tremelimumab-actl + durvalumab, Sorafenib is still an alternative recommended regimen. While some patients with advanced HCC may benefit from Sorafenib treatment, most eventually develop resistance, leading to poor prognosis. Introduction

Extracorporeal cardiopulmonary resuscitation (ECPR) is associated with improved outcomes in select populations, however, crisis resource management (CRM) in this setting is logistically challenging. This study evaluates the impact of ECPR simulation on self-perceived confidence and collaboration of intensive care unit team members.

Methods

This is a prospective observational study analyzing data obtained between July 2018–December 2019. This study focused on non-surgical members of critical care team consisting of pediatric intensivists, resident physicians, registered nurses, respiratory therapists. Subjective Cognitive Decline (SCD), defined as self-reported memory or thinking problems, is an early marker of neurodegenerative diseases. Despite growing research, gaps remain in understanding how geographic disparities influence SCD prevalence and contributing factors. This study assesses the associations between nutritional statusand cognitive development of schoolchildren. A unit increase inheight-for-age Z-score was associated with 0.12 SD, 0.08 SD and0.12 SD increase in standardized digit span, Raven’s coloredprogressive metrics, and performance index of visual searchtask, respectively. A unit increase in body-mass-index-for-ageZ-score was associated with 0.11 SD increase in standardizeddigit span. Hemoglobin concentration was not associated withany of the cognitive outcomes. Chronic malnutrition was asso-ciated with cognitive development in schoolchildren while thin-ness and hemoglobin concentrations were associated withselected or no cognitive outcomes, respectively.

Disruption of genes within the HNRNP gene family has been observed in neurodevelopmental and neurodegenerative diseases. The HNRNP-Related Neurodevelopmental Disorders (HNRNP-RNDDs), while each unique, have been recently described with similar clinical and molecular features across variation in several genes. However, the phenotypic information on these patients is still lacking. In this case series we aim to describe the phenotypes that are associated with SYNCRIP-Related Neurodevelopmental Disorder (SYNCRIP-RNDD). The Household Water Insecurity Experiences (HWISE) and Individual Water Insecurity Experiences (IWISE) Scales are globally suitable tools for comparably measuring water insecurity experiences among households and adults, respectively. The potential range for HWISE and IWISE scores is 0–36. When the WISE Scales were first published, scores of 12 and higher were considered indicative of water insecurity, but additional cut-points are needed to provide more nuanced insights. Molecular targeted therapy has revolutionized cancer treatment by significantly improving patient survival compared with standard conventional chemotherapies. The use of these drugs targets specific molecules or targets, which block growth and spread of cancer cells. Many of these therapies have been approved for use with remarkable success in breast, blood, colorectal, lung, and ovarian cancers. The advantage over conventional chemotherapy is its ability to deliver drugs effectively with high specificity while being less toxic. PURPOSE: Upper tract urothelial carcinoma (UTUC) and urothelial carcinoma of the bladder (UCB) share histomorphological and therapeutic features but distinct epidemiologic and clinicopathologic characteristics. We examined alterations of chromatin regulatory genes in molecular subtypes, clonal relatedness, and T-cell receptor (TCR) diversity in UTUC and UCB.

MATERIALS AND METHODS: Targeted next-generation sequencing or whole-exome DNA sequencing and TCR sequencing were conducted with 34 UTUC and 49 UCB specimens from 63 patients. Tumors were subtyped based on the expression of CK5 and GATA3.
