INTRODUCTION: Body composition is critical in athletic performance, influencing metrics such as jump height and force production. Variations in body composition, such as increased lean tissue mass and reduced fat mass, have been identified as strong predictors of superior jump performance due to their positive effects on power-to-weight ratios and reduced injury risk (MacDonald et al., 2013). Stride length is a vital health indicator, reflecting physical fitness and mobility status. Although several existing formulas aim to estimate stride length, many are limited by a lack of scientific validation, especially among healthy, active adults. This study addresses these limitations by developing a validated model based on healthy adults without known mobility impairments, aiming to establish a more accurate, clinically useful standard for stride length estimation. Cardiovascular disease is the leading causes of death in the world. Several clinical trials have found that handgrip strength is associated with lower cardiovascular risk and related death. PURPOSE: The purpose of this study was to explore the relationship between cardiovascular risk factors and handgrip strength. Purpose: Mild traumatic brain injury (mTBI) affects 69 million people annually worldwide. A significant subset of those affected will develop long-term sequelae that can seriously impact quality of life and lead to other health problems. Clinical diagnosis of mTBI is complicated by patient malingering, subjective symptomatology, and variable patient reporting. This review aimed to evaluate the potential effectiveness of combining advanced neuroimaging techniques with psychometric testing and blood biomarker analyses for developing a more objective and comprehensive mTBI assessment protocol.

Objectives: Alzheimer's disease (AD) is a prevalent age‐related neurodegenerative disease that affects millions of individuals in the United States. Neuroinflammation is a driver of the neurodegenerative changes that characterize AD, prompting interest in how inflammation can be modulated for treatment and prevention. Methods: ICD‐10 codes were quarried from electronic medical records to identify patients diagnosed with AD from 2012 to 2020. Summary From both the literature and the staff observation in this private practice, bipolar disorder (BD) patients who do not comply with medication are at a higher risk of hospitalization and poor quality of life. The purpose of the project was to implement staff training focused on adherence strategies, including motivational interviewing and psychoeducation to improve medication adherence rates among BD patients. The mid to lower thoracic spine, particularly between the T11 and T12 vertebrae, is most frequently affected and often associated with trauma. Conditions like Scheuermann’s disease can predispose patients to TDHs. Background/aimOsteobiologics are increasingly used in orthopedics and spine surgery to facilitate bone healing and prevent non-union. Synthetic osteobiologics are artificial materials crafted in laboratories that aim to replicate the natural composition and functionality of bone. Notable examples, such as calcium phosphate and calcium sulfate, are engineered to mirror the mineral aspect of bone. They mimic human bone functionality, exhibiting osteoconductive, osteoinductive, and osteogenic properties. These characteristics promote cell attachment, migration, recruitment, and differentiation. Background/aim: The objective of this study is to evaluate the effect of empagliflozin on cyclophosphamide-induced neurotoxicity in rats.Materials and methods: A total of 32 male Wistar rats were separated into 4 groups as 8 rats each: control group, cyclophosphamide group, empagliflozin group and the cyclophosphamide plus empagliflozin group. At the end of the experiment rats' brains were removed for biochemical analysis of oxidative stress parameters (malondialdehyde, total sulfhydryl, total oxidant status and total antioxidant capacity) and histopathological analysis.Results: Total sulfhydryl levels were increased in group empagliflozin and group empagliflozin and cyclophosphamide compared to the cyclophosphamide group but did not improve …

Background/aim: The impact of concurrent parathyroid adenoma in differentiated thyroid carcinoma remains unclear. This study was performed to compare the recurrence rates of patients operated on for differentiated thyroid carcinoma with concomitant parathyroid adenoma and those operated on for thyroid carcinoma without detected parathyroid adenoma.Materials and methods: This retrospective study examined 340 patients who underwent total thyroidectomy for thyroid carcinoma at our institution. Background/Aim: Critical illness-associated weakness (CIAW) is a common neuromuscular syndrome that may manifest as critical illness myopathy (CIM), critical illness polyneuropathy (CIP), or an overlap syndrome known as critical illness polyneuromyopathy (CIPM).
