The ecology of a mosquito borne virus involves a consideration of the growth of the virus within the vertebrate and arthropod hosts, the reaction of these hosts to the presence of the virus, and the vertebrate-arthropod associations which are necessary for the dissemination and maintenance of the virus. Little is known of the physiological properties of a particular host and virus which permit multiplication of the virus. In this review stress will be laid u pon studies which attempt to discover the mechanisms in nature which maintain these viruses. Yearbooks from the Saint Philip School of Nursing include black and white photographs of buildings, faculty, clinic instructors, and students. Also included are informational sections such as a history of the school, class directory, superlatives, a nurse's prayer, class history, poems, class prophecy, class will, patrons, and advertisements. In this copy, a handwritten inscription on the front endsheet reads: "Property of Miss Louise Willis" and "Mrs Louise Vaughan Willis" Additionally, the word "Dead" is handwritten next to several photographs throughout the yearbook.

FOR many years, the losses from blowfly strike on the crutch and tail areas imposed a tremendous economic burden on the Merino sheep industry in Australia. Today, the modified Mules operation and the tail-strip treatment have provided a convincing answer to this menace. Breech wrinkles encourage strike, and although as a long-term policy, efforts are being made to eliminate wrinkles by breeding for plainness of breech, it is of the utmost importance to give the sheep IMMEDIATE protection by the most effective methods available.

In conducting inspection of sheep on haemosporidiosis in some districts of South-Kazakhstankoi region, we repeatedly observed theileriasis and anaplasmosis of sheep.

Note: Numerous other experimental data in this paper are omitted from the present translation. This report is of special interest because it establishes the role of an argasid tick as a vector of blood protozoa. Translation made and distributed by Medical Zoology Department, U. S.
