This study compares the discrimination of successive visual number and successive auditory number using the same stimulus durations and presentation rates for both stimuli. The accuracy of the discrimination of successive number decreased as the presentation rate increased and the number in a series increased.

An Autopsy Series On Fatal Pulmonary Embolism At Grace-New Haven Hospital, With Experimental Work On The Production And Removal Of Pulmonary Emboli In Dogs, Harry Charles Miller

[From the Purpose] The purpose of this study is to investigate the occurrence of fatal pulmonary embolism in patients coming to autopsy in the New Haven Hospital during the eighteen year period from 1935 to 1953, inclusive; and to explore briefly the historical, clinical, and experimental basis for the attempt to remove surgically emboli from the pulmonary artery (Trendelenberg Operation).

Also included are informational sections such as a history of the school, class history, superlatives, class prophecy, class song, class directory, student activities, patrons, autographs, and advertisements. In this copy, the word "died" is handwritten next to several photographs throughout the yearbook. Also handwritten next to some photographs locations, presumably where the nurse pictured was located when the writer investigated where they ended up.

Correlation Between Mendelian Rescessive Traits And The Resistance To Fibrosarcoma In Mice, Frank Louis Gruskay

[From the Summary] 1. A correlation between tumor resistance, as measured by the latency period and the percentage of animals acquiring tumors, and the number of recessive genes in the genotypic makeup has been investigated with methylcholanthrene-induced tumors in mice. 2. Evidence is presented which points to the fact that recessive genes impart more resistance than dominant ones. In addition, the relationship seems to be an additive phenomenon, i.e., the more recessive genes in the makeup of the animal, the greater the resistance. 3.
