Importance: Molecular techniques, including next-generation sequencing, genomic copy number profiling, fusion transcript detection, and genomic DNA methylation arrays, are now indispensable tools for the workup of central nervous system (CNS) tumors. Yet there remains a great deal of heterogeneity in using such biomarker testing across institutions and hospital systems. This is in large part because there is a persistent reluctance among third-party payers to cover molecular testing. Purpose: In vivo dosimetry is a common requirement to validate dose accuracy/uniformity in total body irradiation (TBI). Several detectors can be used for in vivo dosimetry, including thermoluminescent dosimeters (TLDs), diodes, ion chambers, optically stimulated luminescent dosimeters (OSLDs), and film. TLDs are well established for use in vivo but required expertise and clinical system availability may make them impractical for multifractionated TBI. OSLDs offer quick readout, but recalls have restricted their use. The purpose of this work was to validate the newly available Gafchromic EBT4 film for TBI in vivo dosimetry.

Patients with recurrent high-grade glioma (rHGG) have a poor prognosis with median progression-free survival (PFS) ofheterogenous, suggesting a clinical need for prognostic models. Bayesian data analysis can exploit individual patient follow-up imaging studies to adaptively predict the risk of progression. We propose a novel sample size analysis for Bayesian individual dynamic predictions and demonstrate proof of principle. We coupled a nonlinear mixed effects tumor growth inhibition model with a survival model. Longitudinal tumor volumes and time-to-progression were simulated for 2000 in silico rHGG patients. The prevalence of mild traumatic brain injury (mTBI) is high compared with moderate and severe TBI, comprising almost 80% of all brain injuries. mTBI activates a complex cascade of biochemical, molecular, structural, and pathological changes that can result in neurological and cognitive impairments. These impairments can manifest even in the absence of overt brain damage. Given the complexity of changes triggered by mTBI, a combination of drugs that target multiple TBI-activated cascades may be required to improve mTBI outcomes. Introduction: Accurate diagnosis of lung metastasis for patients with soft tissue sarcoma (STS) can impact overall survival, but there is considerable variability in imaging utilized to detect metastasis. Chest x-ray (CXR) or computer tomography (CT) scan of the chest are the most common studies in current practice.

Methods: A systematic literature search was performed. Databases were searched from inception to January 3, 2024. Background: Variation in imaging protocol, patient positioning, and the presence of artifacts can vary image quality in CT images used for radiotherapy planning. Automated methods for spatial resolution (SR) estimation exist but require further investigation and validation for wider adoption.

Purpose: To validated previously existing algorithm for SR estimation and introduce improvements that make it robust to patient positioning, CT protocol, site, and artifacts.

Background: MET exon14 skipping mutations (METex14) is an established actionable driver oncogene of non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC). While ensartinib is a known second-generation tyrosine kinase inhibitor with primary activity against ALK translocation, it is also classified as a type Ia MET inhibitor. We have previously shown anti-tumor activity against METex14 positive NSCLC both in vivo and in vitro. The EMBRACE trial aims to evaluate the clinical efficacy and safety of ensartinib for treatment of METex14 positive NSCLC.

Background: Asthma is one of the most common chronic childhood diseases and reason for hospital admission. Previous studies using Childhood Opportunity Index (COI), a 5-level scale assessing neighborhood opportunity, have demonstrated mixed associations with asthma admissions and less often considered a child's initial presentation to a children's hospital.

Falls are one of the most frequent and serious problems facing older adults. Approximately 30-40% of people over 65 years of age fall each year. The frequency of falls increases with each decade beyond this threshold and approximately 20-30% of older adult fallers require hospitalization, assuming an increased risk of mortality. Postural balance and stability involve cooperation between visual, proprioceptive and vestibular sensory systems to achieve a motor response.
