Employment, Theory And Practice In Qualitative Medical Sociology, Mary Jo Deegan
Employment, Theory And Practice In Qualitative Medical Sociology, Mary Jo Deegan
The Journal of Sociology & Social Welfare
Applied qualitative medical sociology is almost an unheard of phenomenon. When it is done, however, It is usually accomplished by sociologists employed in academic institutions. Here we discuss the possibility of such a specialty, building upon the established literature and resources, as a potential area of employment and expanded sociology practice. Three "types" of approaches: symbolic interaction, phenomenology and Marxism are used to suggest the diversity and resources available in qualitative sociology.

Luteinizing Hormone, Testosterone And Androstenedione ในพลาสมาของโคผู้ฝาแฝด Hormone Profiles Of Twin Bulls, พีระศักดิ์ จันทร์ประทีป
The Thai Journal of Veterinary Medicine
Luteinizing hormone, testosterone and androstenedione were measured by radioimmunoassay in the blood plasma of twin bulls. Blood samples were collected every 30 minutes between 07.30 h to 20.00 h from two pairs of twin bulls, Montbeliarde breed 6 and 12 months old. They were kept under identical management condition since they were 8 days old. Mean and range of the concentration of the hormones of 6 and 12 month old bulls were respectively; LH 1.28 (0.75 -4.75), 0.62 (0.10 - 1.22) ng/ml. and 0.89 (0.50-1.35), 0.78 (0.10-1.50) ng/ml. testosterone 0.78 (0.10-2.91), 0.80 (0.12 - 2.30) ng/ml. and 1.23 (0.28 - …

Anthelmintic Efficacy Of Haloxil Against Paramphistomiasis And Neoascariasis In Dairy Cows, Somkiat Tachampa
The Thai Journal of Veterinary Medicine
Anthelmintic efficacy of Haloxil (mixture of Haloxon and Oxyclozanide) against paramphistomiasis and neoascariasis was tested in 25 naturally-infected dairy cows by using egg count as parameter. 100% egg reductions of both worms were observed in all Haloxil treated animals from the first through the tenth weeks post treatment no overt side effect was observed during that period.

Comparisons Of Videotape Observation To Direct Observation, John W. Hanlan
Comparisons Of Videotape Observation To Direct Observation, John W. Hanlan
Dissertations and Theses
This research examined the validity of videotaped analyses of clinical sessions in comparison to direct (live) observations. The subjects were eleven student clinicians and their respective clients, enrolled Fall Term, 1979, in Portland State University's Speech and Hearing Sciences Articulation and Language and Urban Language Clinics. The Boone-Prescott Interactional Analysis System, a numerically coded system, was used to record clinician/client interactions. Data were obtained for a randomly selected five-minute period from each of thirty clinical sessions.

Insulin Degradation By Adipose Tissue. Studies At Several Levels Of Cellular Organization, Barry J. Goldstein, James N. Livingston
Insulin Degradation By Adipose Tissue. Studies At Several Levels Of Cellular Organization, Barry J. Goldstein, James N. Livingston
Department of Medicine Faculty Papers
A systematic study of the degradation of physiological concentrations of 125I-labelled insulin was performed in intact fat-pads, isolated adipocytes and subcellular fractions of isolated adipocytes. The findings indicate that insulin is rapidly degraded to low-molecular-weight peptides and/or amino acids by the intact tissue and isolated cells. Of the total insulin-degradation products present after incubation with an intact fat-pad, 94% is recovered in the medium, indicating that these products are not retained by the cells or tissue. The plasma membranes do not degrade insulin significantly in the absence of reduced glutathione, and over 99% of the cellular degradative capacity is …
