The purpose of this study was to assess the impact of exercise compared to traditional treatment methods on symptoms of ADHD in children, such as improved executive function. A systematic literature review utilizing PubMed, CINAHL, and UND Medical Library resulted in a total of 113 articles, with 15 articles meeting inclusion and exclusion criteria. Results were filtered to studies within the past 5 years. Studies suggest that physical activity could be used as an adjunct to current treatment. For decades, the dominant approach to lead poisoning has been to focus on homes affected by lead paint and to treat children who are already suffering from lead poisoning. This individualizing approach developed in the context of the defunding and deregulation of government agencies in the 1980s. BACKGROUND: Adult spinal deformity (ASD) is a prevalent condition estimated at 38%. Symptomatic ASD is associated with substantial health care costs. The role of nonoperative interventions in the management of ASD remains elusive. The National Scoliosis Clinic's (NSC) scoliosis realignment therapy (SRT) is a personalized digital health exercise program for the nonoperative management of ASD.

OBJECTIVE: This exploratory study had two objectives: (1) to evaluate the effect of the SRT program on users' intention of having spinal fusion; and (2) from a US payer perspective, to estimate the annual cost savings per 100,000 beneficiaries by averting spinal surgery.

Thrombocytopenia is a common challenge in the neonatal intensive care unit, traditionally managed with platelet transfusions. However, transfusions are associated with significant risks, including increased mortality and neurodevelopmental impairment. This case series highlights the use of romiplostim, a thrombopoietin receptor agonist, in three neonates with thrombocytopenia. Each case demonstrated notable improvements in platelet counts without adverse events, reducing dependency on transfusions. These findings underscore romiplostim's potential as a safer alternative for managing neonatal thrombocytopenia. This report advocates for further research to explore romiplostim's efficacy and safety in this vulnerable population, emphasizing its promise in improving neonatal outcomes.

A mean field method for pulse-coupled oscillators with delays used a self-connected oscillator to represent a synchronous cluster of N - 1 oscillators and a single oscillator assumed to be perturbed from the cluster. A periodic train of biexponential conductance input was divided into a tonic and a phasic component representing the mean field input. Our systematic review identifies literature comparing outcomes among neurovascular patients managed at dedicated neurological intensive care units (ICUs) compared to general ICUs. Methods: PubMed was searched to identify articles that reported outcomes among patients managed at dedicated neurological ICUs versus general ICUs. Increasing research has been conducted on antibody drug conjugates (ADCs) for their oncology applications and potential as treatments for immunological diseases. ADCs usually covalently bind a cytotoxic drug (payload) via a linker to a monoclonal antibody, which targets specific antigens expressed on tumors, delivering the drug directly to cancer cells while minimizing off-target effects. In addition to binding antigens on tumor cells, antibodies also interact with immune cells to activate “effector functions”. This activation is largely driven by the binding of Fcγ-receptors (FcγR) to the Fc region of IgG, which connects the humoral immune responses and cell-mediated immune responses. Antibody …

Background: Pulp tissue debridement and the eradication of microorganisms from an infected root canal system before obturation is a primary focus of endodontic treatment and the best predictor for the long-term success of endodontic treatment. Objective: The purpose of this in vitro laboratory study was to evaluate pulp tissue debridement and the disinfection efficacy of two different Er;Cr:YSGG laser units, with a 2790 nm wavelength, compared to ultrasonic-activated irrigation (UAI) in root canals infected with Enterococcus faecalis.

BACKGROUND: Transgender and gender diverse people often turn to online platforms for information and support regarding gender-affirming hormone therapy (GAHT); however, analysis of this social media content remains scarce.

OBJECTIVE: We characterized GAHT-related videos on TikTok to highlight the implications relevant to GAHT prescribers.

This research focuses on analyzing research development trends in counseling and artificial intelligence, with data collected from Scopus-indexed publications from the beginning of 1982 to 2024. From this period, 470 relevant articles were identified for further analysis. The left anterior supramarginal gyrus (aSMG) has been implicated as an important brain region in tool use. While anodal transcranial Direct Current Stimulation (atDCS) over the primary motor cortex (M1) has been shown to facilitate skilled tool use, the effects of aSMG stimulation remain largely unexplored. Using a chopstick-marble paradigm, this thesis examined whether atDCS to the left aSMG would enhance tool-use learning. Electroencephalography (EEG) was concurrently recorded to assess atDCS-dependent changes to the beta and gamma frequency bands.
