Despite preventative efforts, malarial pregnancies still cause birth complications, therefore emphasizing the necessity to study these adverse outcomes in malarial pregnancy. Malaria in pregnancy can lead to placental malaria (PM), which is the presence and accumulation of Plasmodium-infected red blood cells in the placental intervillous space (IVS). Existing prognostic systems, which incorporate various clinical and pathological parameters, have limitations in terms of accuracy. However, it remains unclear whether integrating molecular data with clinicopathological features can enhance the identification of high-risk tumors. Systemic Sclerosis (SSc) is a rare autoimmune disease characterized by multiple-organ involvement and notably by fibrosis. Current therapies for SSc focus on symptom managements and treating specific organ related complications. However, heterogeneous nature of the disease further complicates treatment responses and hinders the development of new therapies. Therefore, there is a critical unmet need for the development of patient-specific therapeutics.

Children with Down Syndrome (DS) frequently experience feeding difficulties due to hypotonia, sensory processing disorder, and oromotor impairments. This case study aimed to describe the clinical reasoning and effectiveness of a sensory integration (SI)-based occupational therapy intervention in improving feeding skills in a 10-year-old child with DS. The intervention consisted of 12 structured sessions focusing on postural stability, proprioceptive awareness, fine motor control, and oromotor coordination. Evaluation tools included Sensory Profile 2 and the Functional Independence Measure (FIM).
