Purpose: Mounting research supports the use of motor-based intervention (e.g., Dynamic Temporal and Tactile Cueing [DTTC]) for children with childhood apraxia of speech (CAS), but large randomized controlled trials (RCTs) are needed to better understand optimal treatment conditions. Partnering with community clinicians may help support recruitment and data collection for large groups of participants with CAS. However, to achieve this, rigorous training is needed to ensure high-fidelity treatment and adherence to research protocols. Introduction: Cervical cancer is the greatest cause of cancer-related death among women in Sub-Saharan Africa, with particularly high incidence and mortality rates in rural regions. In Kenya, Women with HIV/AIDS (WLHA) are at a greater risk of developing cervical cancer though screening rate remains low. Information, education and communication (IEC) materials play a crucial role in raising awareness, promoting screening, and supporting early detection and treatment; however, little is known about the accessibility, content, and perceived effectiveness of these materials from the perspective of WLHA.

This study investigated the role of oxytocin (OT) in feelings of social connectedness. Healthy male and female participants (N=138) were exposed to a task designed to elicit feelings of social connectedness to close others (i.e., the Social Connection Task); participants’ salivary OT levels were measured in response to this task. Using ecological momentary assessment (EMA), data were collected on participants’ feelings of social connectedness in daily life. Results from the current study showed that, among male participants, OT levels decreased in response to the Social Connection Task, while no change in OT was observed among female participants. Background: Tandem lesions pose unique challenges in the endovascular treatment of acute ischemic stroke. We aimed to compare the clinical and procedural outcomes of patients with tandem lesions and extracranial internal carotid artery (ICA) complete occlusion versus those with moderate to severe stenosis.

Methods: This is a subanalysis of a multicenter cohort of patients with acute anterior circulation tandem lesions treated with intracranial mechanical thrombectomy and carotid artery stenting, between January 2015 and December 2020. This capstone project evaluated the implementation of mobile mammography units to improve access to breast cancer screening in Middle Georgia. The project aimed to reduce disparities in early detection and increase screening participation among underserved women aged 40 and older. Using the Health Belief Model as a theoretical framework, the initiative deployed a state-of-the-art mobile mammography unit, engaged community stakeholders, and implemented culturally responsive outreach. Over 6 months, 1,000 screenings were conducted, exceeding targets and demonstrating significant improvements in first-time screening rates, patient satisfaction, and follow-up adherence. This educational quality improvement project aimed to address declining enrollment in a post-primary mammography certification program and to respond to the growing shortage of certified mammography technologists. A needs assessment survey identified key student preferences, including hybrid course formats, weekday scheduling, and social media as the most effective marketing channel. In response, targeted outreach campaigns were launched, curriculum content was updated, and clinical partnerships were expanded to support enrollment and placement. Background: Endobronchial ultrasound-guided transbronchial needle aspiration (EBUS-TBNA) is used effectively in staging lung cancer and in the evaluation of benign causes of mediastinal and/or hilar lymphadenopathy (MHL), such as sarcoidosis. However, evidence for its utility in the diagnostic workup of silicosis is limited.

Methods: This single-center retrospective study included patients with occupational silica exposure who underwent EBUS-TBNA to evaluate MHL on computed tomography (CT). Developing a theory-driven audit tool may help standardize and clarify JEDI pedagogy needs to enhance OT preparation and practice.

Airway Management During Emergent Laparotomy In A Patient With Subglottic Stenosis And Unilateral True Vocal Cord Paralysis: A Case Report., Rayyan Bhutta, Ali Osman, Connor Henn, Hameed H Salah, Samir Patel

This case report describes the airway course of a 52-year-old male who required emergent exploratory laparotomy for suspected gastrointestinal perforation. The patient had underlying subglottic stenosis and unilateral vocal cord paralysis, as well as a history of significant cardiopulmonary disease. Attempts at intubation using standard tube sizes were unsuccessful. A 6.0 endotracheal tube was eventually passed beyond a point of resistance, allowing the operation to proceed. He remained intubated after surgery and was successfully extubated several days later. The report emphasizes the need for adaptable airway plans and highlights the constraints that may arise during urgent operative care.
