Metabolic syndrome is a complication found in HIV/AIDs patients. The patients with metabolic syndrome had increased risk of cardiovascular disease. An appropriate dietary advice may help ameliorate this problem. This study aimed to investigate the effect of dietary advice on components of metabolic syndrome including anthropometric parameters, lipid profiles, fasting blood sugar, and blood pressure in the HIV/AIDs with metabolic syndrome who were on highly active antiretroviral therapy. Anti-RANKL monoclonal antibody is a fully human monoclonal antibody (mAb) available for treatment of osteoporosis. In this study, anti-RANKL mAb was transiently expressed using the Geminiviral expression system in Nicotiana benthamiana. Moreover, the structure of plant-produced mAb was characterized and functional activity was also determined. The result indicated that anti-RANKL mAb was produced with the maximum expression level on 8 days post infiltration and estimated to be 0.5 mg/g leaf fresh weight. The incidence of metastasis stage crucially contributes to high recurrence and mortality rate in lung cancer patients. Unfortunately, no available treatment inhibits migration, a key metastasis process in lung cancer. In this study, the effect of 22-O-(N-Boc-L-glycine) ester of renieramycin M (22-Boc-Gly-RM), a semi-synthetic amino ester derivative of bistetrahydroisoquinolinequinone alkaloid isolated from Xestospongia sp., on migratory behavior of human lung cancer cells was investigated. This work was divided into three study phases: the two-phase randomized controlled clinical trials and proteomics study. First, the phase I clinical trial aimed to determine efficacy and safety of mulberry leaves on postprandial glucose following the 50-g sucrose ingestion in healthy nondiabetic adults and to explore the optimal administered dose of 1-deoxynojirimycin (DNJ), the major antihyperglycemic compound of mulberry leaves. The results showed the alleviation of postprandial hyperglycemia by mulberry leaves in a dose-dependent fashion. ที่มาและความสำคัญ: ผู้ป่วยที่มีภาวะหัวใจห้องบนเต้นผิดจังหวะแบบสั่นระริกที่ไม่ได้เกิดจากลิ้นหัวใจผิดปกติในประเทศไทย และในประเทศต่างๆของทวีปเอเชียซึ่งมีปัญหาในแง่เศรษฐานะ โดยส่วนใหญ่จะได้รับการรักษาด้วยยาวาร์ฟาริน เพื่อป้องกันการเกิดหลอดเลือดสมองอุดตัน และภาวะลิ่มเลือดหลุดลอยไปอุดตันหลอดเลือดแดงต่างๆ โดยพบว่าประสิทธิภาพของยาวาร์ฟารินขึ้นกับค่าของ Time in therapeutic range (TTR) และพบว่าค่า TTR ที่น้อยกว่าร้อยละ 65 จะทำให้ประสิทธิภาพของยาวาร์ฟารินลดลงอย่างมาก ในปัจจุบันมีการใช้คะแนน SAMe-TT2R2 ในการพยากรณ์ค่า TTR แต่การศึกษาส่วนใหญ่เป็นการศึกษาในประชากรผิวขาว และพบว่าคะแนนSAMe-TT2R2 ให้คะแนนคนเอเชียเริ่มที่ 2 คะแนนตั้งแต่ต้น ดังนั้นจากปัจจัยด้านเชื้อชาติ อาจส่งผลทำให้การประเมินผู้ป่วยที่จะไม่ได้ประสิทธิภาพจากยาวาร์ฟารินมากเกินความเป็นจริง วัตถุประสงค์: เพื่อศึกษาหาปัจจัยที่มีผลต่อการพยากรณ์การใช้ยาวาร์ฟารินที่ไม่ได้ประสิทธิภาพ (โดยมีค่า TTR ที่น้อยกว่าร้อยละ 65)ในคนไทยที่มีภาวะหัวใจห้องบนเต้นผิดจังหวะแบบสั่นระริกที่ไม่ได้เกิดจากลิ้นหัวใจผิดปกติ และหา New scoring system ขึ้นมาใหม่ เพื่อใช้พยากรณ์การใช้ยาวาร์ฟารินที่ไม่ได้ประสิทธิภาพ (โดยมีค่า TTR ที่น้อยกว่าร้อยละ 65) และเปรียบเทียบ New scoring system กับคะแนนSAMe-TT2R2 ในการพยากรณ์การใช้ยาวาร์ฟารินที่ไม่ได้ประสิทธิภาพ ในคนไทยที่มีภาวะหัวใจห้องบนเต้นผิดจังหวะแบบสั่นระริกที่ไม่ได้เกิดจากลิ้นหัวใจผิดปกติ ระเบียบวิธีวิจัย: ทำการศึกษาแบบทบทวนย้อนหลังจากเวชระเบียนผู้ป่วยนอกและในโรงพยาบาลจุฬาลงกรณ์ โดยรวบรวมผู้ป่วยภาวะหัวใจห้องบนเต้นผิดจังหวะแบบสั่นระริกที่ไม่ได้เกิดจากลิ้นหัวใจผิดปกติที่ได้รับการรักษาด้วยยาวาร์ฟารินทุกราย ตั้งแต่วันที่ 1 มกราคม พ.ศ.2557 ถึงวันที่ 31 ธันวาคม พ.ศ.2561 ในงานวิจัยนี้จะคำนวณค่า TTR ด้วย Rosendaal's Method และ ใช้ค่า TTR ที่น้อยกว่าร้อยละ 65 เพื่อบ่งบอกถึงการใช้ยาวาร์ฟารินที่ไม่ได้ประสิทธิภาพ ผลการศึกษา: ผู้ป่วยภาวะหัวใจห้องบนเต้นผิดจังหวะแบบสั่นระริกที่ไม่ได้เกิดจากลิ้นหัวใจผิดปกติที่ได้รับการรักษาด้วยยาวาร์ฟารินที่เข้ามาในงานวิจัยมีทั้งหมด 864 คน มีค่าเฉลี่ยอายุ 73.6 ± 11.58 ปี มีค่าเฉลี่ยค่า TTR คิดเป็นร้อยละ 48.1 ± 25.2 และพบว่าผู้ป่วย 637 คน คิดเป็นร้อยละ 73.7 ที่มีค่า TTR น้อยกว่าร้อยละ 65 จากการวิเคราะห์หาปัจจัยที่สัมพันธ์กับการพยากรณ์การใช้ยาวาร์ฟารินที่ไม่ได้ประสิทธิภาพ (TTRน้อยกว่าร้อยละ 65) …

Dental caries are common oral diseases in schoolchildren. This retrospective cohort analysis was done to assess caries prevalence, risk and protective factors associated permanent caries among 433 children profiles of school children in selected primary school in Bangkok who received or did not receive a preventive program. Additionally, a cost effectiveness of the program was analyzed. Result revealed that there was high caries prevalence in deciduous teeth (1st grade) 87.2% and mean dmft 6.44 (± 4.4) and caries prevalence in permanent teeth (6th grade) 51.7% and mean DMFT 1.37 (± 1.84). Morus alba Linn., belonging to Moraceae family, is commonly used as an herb. M. alba leaves are widely used in traditional Chinese medicine and Thai traditional medicine. It used to treat colds caused by wind-heat, sore throat, cough, eye inflammation, etc. This study aimed to investigate the pharmacognostic specifications and analyze the content of chlorogenic acid in M. alba leaves. M. alba leaves were collected from 15 different sources throughout Thailand. The fresh mature leaves were used for macroscopic and microscopic evaluations.
