The purpose of this study was to analyze the relationship between chewing efficacy and severity level of cognitive impairment in dementia patients using a smartphone with ViewGum software for chewing efficiency analysis. Participants (n=70) from the Dementia Clinic, King Chulalongkorn Memorial Hospital, included 38 dementia patients (76.1±9.0 years) and 32 patients (71.8±9.9Years) with mild cognitive impairment (MCI), diagnosed by the medical specialists. The cognitive impairment was assessed by the TMSE (Thai Mental State Examination), and then scored. Effect of various concentration of ET-1 on cell viability of primary human periodontal ligament fibroblasts was determined by an MTT assay. One-piece mini-implants attachment system for overdenture, Osstem MS denture® type implant (OSSTEM, Germany GmbH), and RetenDent mini-implant were tested. All samples were subjected to repeated insertion and removal fatigue cycles by the universal testing machine (E1000, INSTRON Instrument, England). This qualitative study investigates stakeholder perspectives on the use of electronic health record (EHR) phenotyping to identify and recruit patients for clinical research. Interviews with researchers, institutional review board (IRB) chairs, and primary care physicians explored attitudes toward different approaches for contacting potentially eligible patients. Key themes included trust, privacy, research efficiency, and the impact of recruitment practices on physician–patient relationships. While participants generally viewed both physician-mediated and direct researcher contact as acceptable, many preferred physician involvement to maintain trust and credibility. The study also explored opt-in and opt-out recruitment strategies, revealing divided opinions regarding their appropriateness. The findings highlight …
