In this study, olive oil residue (OR) biomass was pyrolyzed in the presence of bulk MgO (B-MgO), nano-MgO (N-MgO), bulk ZnO (B-ZnO)), and nano-ZnO (N- ZnO) metal oxides at different temperatures (400, 600, and 800 ºC). Significant results were obtained in terms of synthesis gas formation and CO2 reduction. The efficiency distribution of the products obtained as a result of the metal oxide-based pyrolysis process and the effects of metal oxides were examined in detail. The synthesis of natural products 2-(2,3-dibromo-4,5-dihydroxyphenyl)acetic acid (1) and 2-(2,6-dibromo-3,5-dihydroxyphenyl)acetic acid (2) and as well as their derivatives 25 and 26 were carried out by substitution, hydrolysis and demethylation reactions of the corresponding four benzyl bromides. The antioxidant potentials of benzylic acid-derived bromophenols were, for the first time, appraised by several outstanding bioanalytical methods. Illicium griffithii Hook. f. & Thoms is an endemic medicinal plant of North East India found in the Eastern Himalayan region of biodiversity mega centre. Herein, chemical investigation of I. griffithii, afforded five compounds and their structures were determined through extensive use of NMR, HRMS, and FT-IR spectroscopy. The complete proton-proton, proton-carbon coupling network of compound 1 was determined using 1H-1H COSY, HSQC and NOESY NMR experiments. Coordination-driven self-assembly of nickel (II) ions with equimolar amounts of 1, 10 phenanthroline, and benzoic acid was used to create homonuclear nickel (II) MOF-type supramolecule. Single crystal X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy, differential scanning calorimetry, photoluminescence measurement, FT-IR, UV-visible spectroscopy, and nitrogen physisorption measurement were used to characterize the compound. The single crystal X-ray diffraction study reveals that the synthesized compound is two-dimensional with pores in the structure. In continuation of our interest in identifying new α-glucosidase inhibitors with potential to become antidiabetic drugs, this work focuses on the study of 4-(dimethylaminoalkyl)piperazine-1-carbodithioate derivatives as α-glucosidase inhibitors. The eight heterocyclic piperazine-dithiocarbamate complexes studied in this work contain a variety of substitutions on their benzene ring exhibiting potent, noncompetitive inhibition of α-glucosidase. Dithiocarbamate and piperazine moieties are important pharmacophores with promising therapeutic prospects featuring facilitated drug delivery due to their lipophilic nature in addition to their α-glucosidase inhibitory activity. New ligand based on p-tertbutyltetrathiacalix[4]arene blocked in 1,3-alternate conformation, was achieved via a multistep synthesis with the introduction of thiomethylpropoxy groups on the lower rim which leads to a neutral tecton. The combination of this p-tertbutyltetrathiacalix[4]arene (p-TCA-2), in 1, 3-alternate imposed conformation, with tetrahedral Ag(I)SbF6 salt, leads to the formation of neutral, new 2-D coordination network, which was structurally investigated in the solid state by X-ray diffraction methods on a single crystal.

The cross-linked microbeads with average diameter of 106-300 μm, [poly(EGDMA-MATrp)], were obtained by copolymerization reaction of N-methacryloyl-L-(+)-tryptophan methyl ester (MATrp) with ethylene glycol dimethacrylate (EGDMA) and successfully applied as a heterogeneous catalyst in conjugate addition reaction of nitromethane to substituted 2-iminochromenes in aqueous media. A variety of 2-amino-4-(nitromethyl)-4H-chromene-3-carbonitriles has been synthesized in good yields. Polymeric microbeads were very durable and reused 5 times without a significant loss of activity. DFT calculations and experimental results revealed the significant role of π-π interactions as well as hydrogen bonding in the reaction mechanism.

The conversion of fumaric acid into L-malate by fumarase immobilized on silanized nanostructures was analyzed experimentally. The enzyme was bound to the silanized nanostructures. We carried out scanning electron microscopy (SEM), fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) analysis, zeta size analysis and surface area calculation for the characterization of the nanostructures. This study focuses on the improvement in fire performance, and flame retardancy (FR) properties of chopped basalt fiberreinforced acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene (ABS) composites. For this purpose, different amounts of aluminum diethyl phosphinate (AlPi) compound (5, 10, and 15 wt%) were incorporated in the composites. The FR properties of the composites were examined via limiting oxygen index (LOI), UL-94 standard, and mass loss calorimeter tests. Thermogravimetric analysis was carried out to analyze the decomposition behavior of the composites. SEM inspection was also performed to examine the char surfaces of the composites. The primary aim of this article was to improve the solubility and bioavailability of the drugs nifedipine, niclosamide, and furosemide due to their poor solubility and dissolution rate. Therefore, these drugs require improvement in solubility and dissolution rate in formulation development, especially in solid dosage forms such as hydrogels and capsules. Hydrogel structures were synthesized by using a biocompatible, nontoxic, and protective pure 2-hydroxy ethyl methacrylate (HEMA) monomer. The genus Taxus (yews) is the largest genus of the family Taxaceae. It comprises about 24 species with 55 varieties distributed mainly in Asia, Europe, North Africa, and North America. In addition to the taxane diterpenoids and the cancer drug taxol, its species contain many essential oils with actual or potential biological activity. This review covers the chemical constituents as well as biological activities of these oils that have been studied in fourteen countries over 46 years (1975-2021). It also discusses the biotic and abiotic factors that limit the regeneration of these economically and medicinally important plants.

D-arabinitol is a sugar alcohol that is a typical metabolite of Candida species. The hydroxy group owned by D-arabinitol can function as a reducing agent that can reduce Ag+ to AgNPs. The resulting colloid is further stabilized by the addition of a capping agent. The capping agent used in this study was a combination of chitosan 1%(w/w) and PEG 6000 1% (w/w) (2:1) v/v. In this study poly (4-nitrophenylazo-3-aminopyridine - formaldehyde) (PNAAP-F) and poly (4-nitroarylazo-3-chloro-6-hydroxypyridine - formaldehyde) (NAACHP-F) were synthesized via diazotization, coupling and polycondensation reactions. The structural properties of the as-synthesized dyes were acquired using Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) and UV-visible absorption maxima and their color, yield, melting point, solubility, and viscosity were determined via standard methods. UV-visible and FTIR results show successful formation of the polymeric dyes due to shift of wavelength of maximum absorption (λmax) (440-490 nm, 480-540 nm) and new absorption peak at around (2780-2995 cm-1) for methylene bridge respectively. In this study, a selective and reliable method has been developed for the determination of ketoprofen in water and artificial serum using molecularly imprinted polymers (MIPs) as a solid phase extraction sorbent prior to HPLC-DAD detection. In this study, photocatalytic degradation of paracetamol (acetaminophen), an analgesic and antipyretic drug, was investigated in using semiconductors under UV-B and sunlight irradiation. Semiconductor materials, Bi2O3, ZnO, TiO2, and ZrO2, were prepared using simple sol-gel, coprecipitation, and microwave synthesis methods. These photocatalyts were characterized by various spectroscopic and other techniques. As a result of the reactions, 25 ppm paracetamol with Bi2O3 and ZnO photocatalyst, total degradation was achieved with UV-B irradiation in 90 min.
