However, in China, the production of training data is hindered by issues such as insufficient quantity, low quality, and fragmented distribution, compounded by limitations stemming from commercial ecosystems, regulatory frameworks, and restricted development and utilization of public data. We present initial results from a James Webb Space Telescope (JWST) survey of the youngest Galactic core-collapse supernova remnant, Cassiopeia A (Cas A), made up of NIRCam and MIRI imaging mosaics that map emission from the main shell, interior, and surrounding circumstellar/interstellar material (CSM/ISM). We also present four exploratory positions of MIRI Medium Resolution Spectrograph integral field unit spectroscopy that sample ejecta, CSM, and associated dust from representative shocked and unshocked regions. Surprising discoveries include (1) a weblike network of unshocked ejecta filaments resolved to ∼0.01 pc scales exhibiting an overall morphology consistent with turbulent mixing of cool, low-entropy matter …

Ticagrelor (Brilinta (R)) is the first reversibly binding oral P2Y12 receptor antagonist. It is used, mostly in combination with aspirin, in patients with acute coronary syndromes to reduce thrombosis. The manufacturer of ticagrelor recommends discontinuing it at least 5 days before any surgery when possible. While the effect of dose interruptions on the risk of thrombosis is not directly studied, it is important to understand the impact of skipping doses on ticagrelor's PK/PD profile for clinical-decision making. Background: Autofluorescence-based imaging has the potential to nondestructively characterize the biochemical and physiological properties of plants regulated by genotypes using optical properties of the tissue. A comparative study of stress tolerant and stress susceptible genotypes of Brassica rapa with respect to newly introduced stress-based phenotypes using machine learning techniques will contribute to the significant advancement of autofluorescence-based plant phenotyping research.

Despite previously showing mastery of all test topics in ALEKS, Andrews’ remedial math students continue to struggle with some of them on the paper tests. After previous research, additional teaching activities, including one targeting word problems, were implemented to address student misconceptions about linear equations. My current research compares student performance on the paper tests before and after these activities on questions regarding linear relationship word problems. My findings show no statistically significant difference in student performance after these activities. These results will lead to further curriculum changes, in an attempt to increase students’ long-term conceptual understanding and problem-solving skills.

A snake cube is a puzzle made by a sequence of n3 straight and turn pieces that can fold into a n x n x n cube. Solving the puzzle is comparable to the problem of finding a Hamiltonian path in the grid graph of the cube. By using computer algorithms, we find and count all sequences that are solutions. Furthermore, we can count the unique folding configurations of each sequence giving us an idea of its difficulty. Orbital dynamics play a crucial role in determining the habitability of exoplanets, and many models have been developed to study the dynamical evolution of broader planetary system structure. We study existence and uniqueness of Green functions for the Cheeger QLaplacian in metric measure spaces that are Ahlfors Q-regular and support a Q-Poincar´e inequality with Q > 1. We prove uniqueness of Green functions both in the case of relatively compact domains, and in the global (unbounded) case. We also prove existence of global Green functions in unbounded spaces, complementing the existing results in relatively compact domains proved recently in [BBL20].

Bismuth, a relatively inexpensive heavy metal with low toxicity, has the potential to be used in medicines and anticancer drugs. This project is exploring bismuth complexes with ligands based on chalcones, which are a type of small organic molecules with known anticancer properties. Preliminary results on a bismuth-chalcone complex indicate that substituted aryl bismuth complexes have better anticancer activity than triphenylbismuth or the chalcone ligand on its own. A series of trisubstituted bismuth molecules were synthesized using a BiCl3 Grignard reaction under a nitrogen atmosphere with different substituents to provide electron donating groups, electron withdrawing groups or bulk. A circle is mathematically defined as the collection of points a given distance away from a set point. Thus, the appearance of a circle varies dramatically across different metrics—for example, the taxicab metric (as popularized by Krause and Reynolds) has a circle that is a Euclidean square. As such, metrics can be partially defined by the appearance of their unit circles. This paper focuses on creating and analyzing an infinite set of metrics defined by their circles being regular polygons. Additionally, it provides a method of exactly generating a regular n-gon given a center, included point, and specified orientation.

Certain defects within the hexagonal boron nitride (hBN) lattice are a promising source of quantum mechanical states for quantum computing. It is difficult to produce layers of hBN that are thin enough for these quantum states to be studied. We investigate ultrasonic liquid exfoliation and hydrothermal synthesis as methods of synthesizing hBN nanosheets. Samples were analyzed through light scattering spectroscopy and atomic force microscopy. Our results show that liquid exfoliation can produce hBN nanosheets that range in between 0.35nm - 20nm in thickness. We also show hydrothermal synthesis reactions, between boric acid and nitrogen sources, that can produce hBN nanosheets.

I present a novel approach for detecting rogue nuclear material at country borders, addressing the current lack of reliable and economical mechanisms for this purpose. My proposed methodology utilizes Cherenkov radiation emitted by cosmic muons to reconstruct the particle's trajectory using a single detector. By analyzing the eccentricity of the projected ellipse formed when the Cherenkov cone intersects the detector plane, one can determine the angle a muon makes with the detector. This innovative technique effectively doubles the efficiency of the detection system by halving the number of required detectors while simultaneously increasing the resolution of the measurements taken.

The Compact Muon Solenoid, CMS, and other detectors at LHC are in the process of being upgraded for the HL-LHC (High-Luminosity Large Hadron Collider) which will produce more than 5 times the particle interactions than of the current LHC. A Distinct Radial Acceleration Relation Across The Brightest Cluster Galaxies And Galaxy Clusters, Pengfei Li, Stacy S. Mcgaugh

Recent studies reveal a radial acceleration relation (RAR) in galaxies, which illustrates a tight empirical correlation connecting the observational acceleration and the baryonic acceleration with a characteristic acceleration scale. However, a distinct RAR has been revealed on brightest cluster galaxy (BCG) cluster scales with a seventeen-times-larger acceleration scale due to the gravitational lensing effect. In this work, we systematically explore the acceleration and mass correlations between dynamical and baryonic components in 50 BCGs. This increase in energy consumption by AI leads to increased carbon emissions in the atmosphere as well as rapid resource depletion.
