Efficiency is essential to support ever-growing datasets, especially for Deep Learning (DL) systems. DL frameworks have traditionally embraced deferred execution-style DL code---supporting symbolic, graph-based Deep Neural Network (DNN) computation. While scalable, such development is error-prone, non-intuitive, and difficult to debug. Consequently, more natural, imperative DL frameworks encouraging eager execution have emerged but at the expense of run-time performance. Though hybrid approaches aim for the "best of both worlds," using them effectively requires subtle considerations. Our key insight is that, while DL programs typically execute sequentially, hybridizing imperative DL code resembles parallelizing sequential code in traditional systems. Inspired by this, we …

Continuous-time Markov chain (CTMC) models and latent classification methods are commonly used to analyze longitudinal categorical outcomes in medical research. While CTMC models are popular for their simplicity and effectiveness, their assumption of constant transition rates presents limitations in capturing dynamic behaviors. To address this, non-homogeneous continuous-time Markov chains (NH-CTMCs) have been developed, incorporating time-varying transition rates to enhance model flexibility. In this study, we leverage closed-form transition probabilities for a fully ergodic two-state NH-CTMC model and propose a latent class clustering approach to identify heterogeneous transition rate patterns within the population. A comprehensive computational study was conducted to identify and evaluate nano-energetic systems utilizing aluminum (Al) as the fuel and a range of metal oxynitrides as oxidizers. The primary objective was to determine combinations that yield highly exothermic reactions, specifically those that maximize gas generation, adiabatic combustion temperature, and energy release. These parameters are critical for optimizing the performance of energetic materials in applications such as controlled energy delivery, propulsion, and pyrotechnics. A common challenge in AI is that of an agent possessing N distinct behaviors, each of which works effectively in certain tasks and circumstances, to choose from at any particular time. A popular approach to learn optimal selections in such contexts is found in bandit algorithms. However, traditional bandits often (1) assume the environment is stationary, (2) focus on asymptotic performance, and (3) do not incorporate available external information about the environment. Several machine learning (ML) and deep learning (DL) methods have been used to predict the presence of species in classification problems. Another set of methods, called reinforcement learning (RL), has been used in training agents to perform various tasks, but not in predicting species distribution. In this research, we focus on investigating the existence of solutions for a q-integral boundary value problem associated with third-order nonlinear q-difference equations. To achieve this, we employ two fundamental mathematical tools: the Banach contraction principle and Krasnoselskii’s fixed point theorem, which provide the theoretical framework for our analysis. Furthermore, to illustrate the applicability and robustness of our results, we present and discuss several concrete examples that highlight the practical implications of the proposed methods.

In this paper, we consider gradient almost Ricci solitons with nonparallel closed conformal vector fields. We classify gradient almost Ricci solitons and show that a complete, noncompact gradient almost Ricci soliton admitting a nonparallel closed conformal vector field, is locally a warped product with Einstein fibers, while in the second case, under additional hypothesis, gradient almost Ricci soliton is totally umbilical if and only if it has constant scalar curvature.

In the present paper, we study the regularity of the endomorphism monoid of a class of graphs, which generalizes the cycle graph. We give a complete list of all end-regular r × s flower graphs. In particular, for an odd integer s ≥ 3, the s × s flower graph Cs,s has a regular endomorphism monoid, i.e., Cs,s is end-regular. For Cs,s, s ≥ 3 odd, we determine the cardinality and the rank of its endomorphism monoid (including a generating set of minimal size).

The aim of the present paper is to introduce generalized Szász–Mirakyan operators. This article studies the property of variation seminorm and some approximation properties of generalized Szász–Mirakyan operators not only in normed spaces but also in variation seminorm. We obtain convergence properties of our operators using of Korovkin’s theorem and the order of convergence by using a classical approach, the second modulus of continuity and Peetre’s K functional. This study presents the properties of the bilateral and unilateral nabla Laplace transform, defined on isolated time scales. Furthermore, it explores the nabla Laplace transforms of several elementary functions, employing various proof techniques from real and complex analysis. The findings are illustrated with examples, demonstrating the applicability of these definitions.

In this study, we introduce the concepts of rough category and rough groupoid by combining the concepts of category theory and groupoid with rough set theory. We present some properties and examples of these concepts, which are discussed for the first time. Additionally, by defining a rough functor among the rough categories, the category of rough categories were created. Moreover, rough groupoid homomorphism, rough action groupoid, and category of the rough groupoids have been examined algebraically and introduced to the literature.

In this study, we introduce the V2-direction curve, Vn−1-direction curve and Vn-direction curve of a Frenet curve in n-dimensional Euclidean space. We provide characterizations and investigate the relationships between the Frenet apparatus of the principal curve and the corresponding apparatus of the direction curves. We also present an application for all direction curves with the results shown using computer code implemented in MATLAB.

Monotone Positive Solutions Of Impulsive Differential Equations Asymptotic To Nonprincipal Solutions, Si̇bel Doğru Akgöl, Ağacik Zafer

This study investigates the asymptotic behavior of monotone positive solutions for a general class of nonlinear second-order impulsive differential equations. By employing the principal and nonprincipal solutions of the associated homogeneous equation, we establish the existence of a monotone positive solution asymptotic to a nonprincipal solution at infinity. To achieve this, we also prove a compactness criterion for an effective use of Schauder’s fixed-point theorem. Under suitable conditions, similarly to the classical case, it is demonstrated that a monotone positive solution asymptotic to a nonprincipal solution exists. A concrete example is given to illustrate the results.

Antenna systems are a cornerstone of modern technologies, playing an increasingly vital role in their advancement. As demand for compact, high-performance, and adaptable communication platforms grows reconfigurable antenna technologies are becoming essential. This research explores a novel front-end reconfigurable antenna system (FERAS) architecture that leverages the mechanical flexibility and photoconductive behavior of semiconductor nanomembrane (SNM) devices. By exploiting the emergent properties of ultra-thin silicon (Si) or gallium arsenide (GaAs) nanomaterials and optically exciting these samples using vertical-cavity surface-emitting laser (VCSEL) arrays, this study develops lightweight, low-cost, deployable antenna structures for satellite communications, remote sensing, GPS, and radar. We present a systematic study of likelihood functions used for stochastic gravitational wave background (SGWB) searches. By dividing the data into many short segments, one customarily takes advantage of the central limit theorem to justify a Gaussian cross-correlation likelihood. We show, with a hierarchy of ever more realistic examples—beginning with a single frequency bin and one detector, and then moving to two and three detectors with white and colored signal and noise—that approximating the exact Whittle likelihood by various Gaussian alternatives can induce systematic biases in the estimation of the SGWB parameters. In October 2024, the University of New Hampshire and NOAA’s Uncrewed Systems Office embarked on a mapping mission in the Gulf of Maine, simultaneously operating two DriX Un-crewed Surface Vehicles. Goals of the project were focused on testing hypotheses related to concepts of operation, including the safety of operations, cognitive loading of operators, management of vehicle endurance, vehicle logistics, maintenance and field support, refueling and a host of others.

Nepenthes megastoma is described and illustrated as a new species from the Puerto Princesa Subterranean River National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site in Palawan Philippines. This carnivorous tropical pitcher plant is currently known from just three locations in the Mount Saint Paul karst formation, where it grows on vertical limestone walls. Morphologically, N. megastoma is characterised by its highly branched stems, campanulate pitchers, peltate tendril exsertion, dimorphic upper pitchers, and unidirectionally upturned female flowers. It is assessed as Critically Endangered under the IUCN Red List criteria, based on its restriction to three subpopulations comprising few total individuals. Pitcher morphology …

This fact sheet presents 2025 data on the state of artificial intelligence (AI) adoption among the five Mountain West states of Arizona, Colorado, Nevada, New Mexico, and Utah. The data are sourced from the “Anthropic Economic Index,” which provides data on Claude.ai (an AI large language model) and its adoption across all 50 U.S. states and Washington, D.C. This fact sheet focuses on Claude.ai usage, the most common topic Claude.ai has been used for, and augmentation and automation shares for each Mountain West state.

The existence and nature of sigma hole type interactions in inorganic extended solids remain largely unexamined, even though the influence of such interactions for heteroorganic compounds is well known. The series of group 5 MOX3oxyhalides are intriguing in this regard since several of the known crystal structures are molecular solids with highly polarized M centers. We examine computationally the bonding in the isolated MOX3 molecules and their smallest clusters (MOX3)nwhere M = V, Nb, and Ta, and X = H, F, Cl, Br, and I. I joined the STEM for Success Team in May 2023 with two main goals. The first goal was to reach 100 hours worth of contributions, as part of a mandatory internship requirement to graduate from the Academy for Mathematics, Science, & Engineering (AMSE). I reached that goal by early October 2023, although I have been motivated to continue my work with NJIT beyond that hour target. Spectral graph theory is a subfield of algebraic graph theory that studies the matrices associated with graphs. It lives at the nexus of Linear Algebra and Combinatorics. Many intriguing results in the domains of Matrix Theory and Combinatorics have come from studying the eigenvalues of graph matrices; in fact, several open problems in both areas have been resolved. Beyond its theoretical appeal, spectral graph theory has found meaningful applications in theoretical chemistry, particularly in the mathematical classification of chemical graphs.
