Tyrosine, tryptophan, and phenylalanine are important aromatic amino acids for human health. If they are not properly metabolized, severe rare mental or metabolic diseases can emerge, many of which are not researched enough due to economic priorities. In our previous simulations, all three of these amino acids are discovered to be self-organizing and to have complex aggregations at different temperatures. Two of these essential stable formations are observed during our simulations: tubular-like and spherical-like structures. Eye-tracking studies typically collect enormous amount of data encoding rich information about user behaviours and characteristics on the web. Eye-tracking data has been proved to be useful for usability and accessibility testing and for developing adaptive systems. The main objective of our work is to mine eye-tracking data with machine learning algorithms to automatically detect users' characteristics. In this paper, we focus on exploring different machine learning algorithms to automatically classify whether users are familiar or not with a web page. With the extensive usage of open communication networks, time delays have become a great concern in load frequency control (LFC) systems since such inevitable large delays weaken the controller performance and even may lead to instabilities. Electric vehicles (EVs) have a potential tool in the frequency regulation. The integration of a large number of EVs via an aggregator amplifies the adverse effects of time delays on the stability and controller design of LFC systems. In a software-defined wide area network (SD-WAN), a logically centralized controller is responsible for computing and installing paths in order to transfer packets among geographically distributed locations and remote users. Accordingly, this would necessitate obtaining the global view and dynamic network state information (NSI) of the network. Therefore, the centralized controller periodically collects link-state information from each port of each switch at fixed time periods. While collecting NSI in short periods causes protocol overhead on the controller, collecting in longer periods leads to obtaining inaccurate NSI. A correlative maturity study integrated with seismic attributes for determining the shale gas potential of Ghazij Formation is carried out. Analysis of post-stack seismic attributes has been frequently used to identify areas of high exploration potential within shale resource plays. Seismic and well data have been utilized for the analysis of maturity trends in the shale facies of Ghazij Formation. Identification of fracture zone is a challenging task without the image log data. There are many brownfields around the world where the image log has not been acquired; therefore, there must be an alternative way of fracture identification. The tectonic and structural properties of Erzurum and its surroundings have been investigated by evaluating the seismotectonic b - value, magnetic anomaly, edge detection analysis (total horizontal derivative (THDR) and tilt angle (TA)), Curie Point Depth (CPD), P-wave velocity (Vp), and Vp / Vs (S - wave velocity) ratio and by imaging the regional distributions of these parameters. One of the major components of continental collision zones is their imbricated zones. Such a zone along the Southeast Anatolian Orogenic Belt (SAOB) is solely controlled by a still-active convergence and accretion system between the Anatolian Plate and Arabian platform since at least Late Cretaceous. The zone is characterized by NEE/SWW-trending, northward-dipping thrust slices that are squeezed between the Tauride Block to the north and the Arabian platform to the south. The units cropping out within the zone comprise Neo-Tethysrelated magmatic, ophiolitic, sedimentary and metamorphic rocks with Late Cretaceous to Miocene formation/metamorphism ages. Field observations and morphotectonic evaluations on the south of Ulubat Lake and the Susurluk valley show that the dominant active fault pattern consists of northeast-southwest and east northeast-west southwest right-lateral faults and northwestsoutheast normal faults developing between these strike-slip faults. We redefined the active faults in the south of Ulubat Lake and discovered that these northeast-southwest right-lateral faults control the route of Susurluk River. Based on these discoveries and evaluations, we can claim that the "bend model" previously proposed for the region is not valid, as seen in the Mustafakemalpaşa Fault and Balıkesir-Kepsut Fault examples. Şenkaya chrysoprase is a gemstone and can be found near the Turnalı village located in the west-northwest of Şenkaya (Erzurum) county in the uplifted Kırdağ of Northeast Anatolia of Turkey. Chrysoprase only found in Şenkaya County and known with the same name commercially in Turkey is a light-dark green and cryptocrystalline structure gemstone encountered in the Örükyayla Mélange. Samples were collected from the field for defining mineralogical-petrographical, XRD, XRF, ICP-MS, optical cathodoluminescence microscopy (OCLM), FTIR-Raman and stable isotopic properties of Şenkaya chrysoprase. Modal analysis of sandstones for conglomerate rich marine basins is useful for investigating the provenance types surrounded by plate tectonics. Different kinds of siliciclastic rocks are important indicators for defining the paleogeography and geotectonic conditions of the sedimentary basin by provenance analysis. This paper, which focuses on the petrography and provenance of conglomerate rich turbidite systems, is one of the rarest studies on the sedimentary characteristics in the scientific literature. The skill of a high-resolution Black Sea circulation model (ROMS) is assessed using the available satellite and field data for Sea Surface Height Anomaly (SSHA), Sea Surface Temperature, and CTD profiles. The model is configured to simulate the 9-year period between 2012 and 2021. The model's skill is assessed using standard analytical methods for error calculation such as Root Mean Square Error (RMSE) and correlation. Additionally, the model results are assessed using several more recent methods such as the relative operating characteristic (ROC). Climate change will elicit various species responses as it causes habitats to change. Species with limited dispersal must respond to these changes “in place”, yet some biogeographical hypotheses indicate isolated and less abundant populations experience reduced gene flow and genetic diversity that may limit phenotypic plasticity, contrasting with evidence suggesting more variable habitats select for increased plasticity in peripheral populations. The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) is an international agency that monitors the use of Performance Enhancing Drugs (PEDs) in sports; their mission is “to lead a collaborative worldwide movement for doping-free sport” (Who We Are, 2022). For this mission, the WADA needs quick, sensitive, reproducible, and accurate methods for analyzing athletes’ biological fluids for possible PEDs. In order to estimate the gross primary productivity (GPP) of terrestrial ecosystems from the canopy uptake of carbonyl sulfide (COS), the leaf relative uptake rate (LRU) of COS with respect to carbon dioxide needs to be known a priori. Currently, the variability of the LRU between plant species in different biomes of the world is poorly understood, making the choice of an appropriate LRU uncertain and hampering further progress towards developing COS as an alternative tracer of GPP. This chapter examines precipitation under projected future climate change in the Spokane area. The chapter focuses on potential climate impacts on dryland wheat farming due to the crop’s direct reliance on precipitation and economic importance to the region.

Learning A Scalable Algorithm For Improving Betweenness In The Lightning Network, Vincent Davis

This paper presents a scalable algorithm for solving the Maximum Betweenness Improvement Problem as it occurs in the Bitcoin Lightning Network. In this approach, each node is embedded with a feature vector whereby an Advantage Actor-Critic model identifies key nodes in the network that a joining node should open channels with to maximize its own expected routing opportunities. This model is trained using a custom built environment, lightning-gym, which can randomly generate small scale-free networks or import snapshots of the Lightning Network. After 100 training episodes on networks with 128 nodes, this A2C agent can recommend channels in the Lightning …

Pillars of smart cities include smart environment, mobility and economy. We explore impacts on these to enhance smart cities, heading towards a smart planet. Our motivation emerges from the need to decarbonize transportation. In this context, ride-sharing companies deploy electric vehicles (EVs). These should be managed by various factors: battery demand, EV charging station location, service availability, and charging time. Ride-sharing EV s aim to maximize profits via more rides. Our paper explores game theory in AI here. We propose E-Ride-Minimax, adapting the Minimax algorithm, treating EV ride-sharing companies as players. The discharge of effluents into rivers is something that has occurred a lot throughout our history, rivers like the Mississippi River and the Tiete River (São Paulo, Brazil) have been targets for many years. Therefore, in this paper I choose to show, through hard data and some assumptions, the impact of sewage dumping in water bodies, in this case the Santa Fé River, Florida and the reason why we should avoid dumping these effluents into the rivers.

For this project, I wanted to incorporate calculus into agriculture and environmental science methods. More in detail, the problem used asked for the maximum levels of nitrogen (N) and phosphorus (P) that would be best for a current crop yield. This allowed incorporating partial derivatives, and critical points to find the maximum values for the equation. The results show that in order to demonstrate maximum crop yield production, the levels of nitrogen (N) and phosphorus (P) were to be both at 2, with the correct corresponding units. This project utilizes integral calculus to find the volume of a longboard-style surfboard. The cost for using AirCrete as the material for the longboard will then be calculated. Due to the longboard's shape, the longboard is divided into four sections, and the volume of each is found. The final volume for the longboard with the measurements provided is approximately 3821 cubic inches. The cost of making the longboard out of AirCrete was then calculated by using ratios. The final cost for the longboard is $4.70.
