Database-Driven Revelations In Epilepsy: Patient Reporting Accuracy And The Circadian Timing Of Seizures, Ithay Biton

For over thirty years, patients have been visiting the Arkansas Epilepsy Program for diagnosis and treatment for seizures and seizure-like episodes. As part of their clinical evaluation, patients often undergo ambulatory EEG (electroencephalogram) monitoring. This routine process produces valuable data for treating the patient. In this study, over 2000 ambulatory EEG reports from 1998 to 2016 were reviewed. A large database of seizures was created from the reports, with information on 407 patients, 1611 EEG-confirmed seizures, and 1726 patient-reported seizures (IRB Protocol #17-093). The South American sea lion (Otaria byronia; SASL) and the Peruvian fur seal (Arctocephalus australis; PFS) are apex predators within the Humboldt Current ecosystem, where population dynamics respond to both natural variability and anthropogenic pressures, including El Niño–Southern Oscillation (ENSO) events and coastal mining. This study quantified 18 trace elements (TEs) in canine dentin from both species collected at Punta San Juan, Peru using laser ablation-inductively coupled plasma-mass spectrometry (LA-ICP-MS) to evaluate long-term environmental exposure. This study explores the relationship between digital transformation and ESG performance in Chinese A-share listed companies, focusing on the mediating role of green innovation. From the view of resource-based theory, the digital transformation is found to the first enhances ESG performance and how green innovation serves as a key transmission mechanism. Using fixed-effects regression analysis based on 6,763 firm-year observations from 2015 to 2023. The empirical results indicate that digital transformation improves ESG performance by fostering green innovation, which in turn partially mediates this effect. Dwarf spheroidal galaxies (dSphs) are excellent targets for indirect dark matter (DM) searches using gamma-ray telescopes because they are thought to have high DM content and a low astrophysical background. The sensitivity of these searches is improved by combining the observations of dSphs made by different gamma-ray telescopes. We present the results of a combined search by the most sensitive currently operating gamma-ray telescopes, namely: the satellite-borne Fermi-LAT telescope; the ground-based imaging atmospheric Cherenkov telescope arrays H.E.S.S., MAGIC, and VERITAS; and the HAWC water Cherenkov detector. In this article, we propose a novel numerical framework for the non-isothermal Cahn–Hilliard–Navier–Stokes two-phase flow system, which couples the incompressible Navier–Stokes equations, the Cahn–Hilliard phase-field equation, and the heat transport equation to capture temperature-dependent two-phase flow dynamics. The pro-posed scheme achieves three major advances: (i) unconditional energy stability through a combined scalar auxiliary variable (SAV) and zero-energy-contribution (ZEC) approach, (ii) linearity and full decoupling of all variables while using a second-order temporal discretization, and (iii) efficient implementation via discontinuous Galerkin (DG) spa-tial discretization together with a second-order projection method for the Navier–Stokes equations. Monoclonal gammopathy of undetermined significance (MGUS) is a necessary precursor condition to multiple myeloma (MM). Given the role of autophagy in modulating MM risk, we investigated whether genetic variation in autophagy-related genes influences susceptibility to MGUS. We analyzed the association of 34,042 common autophagy-related single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) with MGUS across six independent cohorts, five from Europe and one from North America, comprising 2317 MGUS cases and 282,358 controls. We also assessed their impact on immune parameters, including absolute counts of 91 blood-derived immune cell subsets and 103 circulating immunological proteins. Background: Medicaid-insured patients experience higher rates of late-stage cancer diagnosis and worse survival than non-Medicaid patients. The impact of Medicaid enrollment timing on cancer outcomes is less clear. This study examines the association between Medicaid enrollment and timing with tumor stage and cancer-specific survival for breast, colorectal, and lung cancers. Methods: We analyzed SEER-Medicaid linked data for 276,755 breast, 104,784 colorectal, and 101,058 lung cancer patients < 65 years of age. Patients were categorized as non-Medicaid enrollees, pre-diagnosis enrollees (≥12 months before), or post-diagnosis enrollees (≤12 months after). Multivariable logistic regression estimated odds ratios of late-stage diagnosis, and cause-specific Cox proportional hazards models were used to assess cancer-specific survival, adjusting for demographic and socioeconomic factors. Results: Compared to non-Medicaid enrollees, post-diagnosis enrollees had the highest odds of late-stage diagnosis (breast cancer: OR: 3.41; colorectal cancer: OR: 3.78; lung cancer: OR: 1.87). Reverberation mapping (RM) determines the mass of black holes (BHs) in active galactic nuclei (AGNs) by resolving the BH gravitational sphere of influence in the time domain. Recent RM campaigns have yielded direct BH masses through dynamical modeling for a sample of 32 objects, spanning a wide range of AGN luminosities and BH masses. In addition, accurate BH masses have been determined by spatially resolving the broad-line region with GRAVITY for a handful of AGNs. Classical machine learning models and quantum kernel methods often struggle to capture quantum-coherent molecular features under the constraints of noisy intermediate-scale quantum (NISQ) hardware, limiting both predictive accuracy and scalability.

This paper introduces the Molecular Quantum Particle Algorithm (MQPA), a hybrid quantum–classical framework designed to achieve chemically accurate property prediction by integrating handcrafted molecular descriptors with parameterized quantum circuits. This study explores the feasibility of an AI-powered chatbot for HIPAA-aligned intake of emergency room patients seeking treatment for overdose and violence. The system utilizes AWS Amplify, an encrypted EC2 instance, and a secure S3 Bucket house on Amazon Web Services. Chat functionality is powered by a multi-agentic framework operating on Anthropic’s Claude Sonnet 4. Manual evaluation and exact match testing reveal the system reliably obtains and records relevant information during intake. Future work will focus on expanding accessibility by integrating voice functionality, obtaining HIPAA compliance certifications, and incorporating the chat system into existing healthcare networks.

This study presents an unsupervised anomaly detection pipeline that fuses logs, metrics, and traces through late fusion. The so called degree of nondensifiability, DND, has been studied in Banach spaces through several studies, and some fixed point results using the DND have been proved. In the present paper, we extend the concept of DND to a Hausdorff locally convex topological vector space (LCTVS). Its main properties, as well as the differences between the DND in Banach spaces and the DND in a LCTVS, are analyzed. Furthermore, under suitable conditions, we provide some fixed point results in a LCTVS by using the DND, and as an application, we prove the existence of solutions of certain Volterra integral equations.

The concept of simplicity in le-semigroups has been used to characterize the coincidence of ideal elements and to study Khayopulu–Green’s relations. Several types of simplicities are known, including two-sided simplicity, left simplicity, right simplicity, bisimplicity, quasisimplicity, and biinterior simplicity. On The Semigroups Of Order-Preserving And Orientation-Preserving Full Contraction Mappings On A Finite Chain, Gonca Ayik, Hayrullah Ayik

Let OPCTn (OCTn) denote the semigroup consisting of all orientation-preserving (order-preserving) full contraction mappings on the finite chain Xn = {1 < ··· < n}, and let OPDCTn (ODCTn) denote the subsemigroup of OPCTn (OCTn) consisting of all order-decreasing transformations. The purpose of this paper is to determine the cardinalities of OPCTn, OPDCTn, N(ODCTn), and N(OPDCTn), and to identify generating sets of minimal size, thereby determining their ranks. Moreover, the number of idempotents of OPDCTn is determined.

A Geometric Property Characterizing The 3d-Generalized Clothoids, Pascual Lucas, José-Antonio Ortega-Yagües

In this paper, we study 3D-generalized clothoids, defined as curves for which there exists another distinct curve, with proportional arclength parameter, such that the Darboux lines of both curves at corresponding points are the same. We prove that these curves are those for which the ratio of torsion and curvature τ/κ is a linear rational function of the arclength. We also show that any 3D-generalized clothoid can be constructed from a rectifying curve, which is of constant curvature in the case of a 3D-clothoid.

Multiplicative Lorentz Matrix Multiplication And The Motion On Multiplicative Lorentz Plane, Osman Keçi̇li̇oğlu, İlayda Durmaz, Hali̇t Gündoğan

In this paper, we define the multiplicative determinant for general n×n matrices, extending previous studies that were limited to lower-dimensional cases. Additionally, we introduce a novel matrix multiplication operation based on the multiplicative Lorentz inner product and conduct a thorough investigation of its algebraic properties. Furthermore, we explore rotational and reflectional transformations in the two-dimensional multiplicative Lorentz space L*2, supported by illustrative examples of these geometric motions.
