Knowledge of arsenic inorganic speciation in groundwaters is critical for optimising water treatment approaches. Here, we characterise the on-site analytical performance of the As(V)-selective ImpAs ion-exchange resin to separate As(V) from As(III) in groundwater with contrasting redox conditions. Field speciation results obtained by ImpAs in the oxic, Fe-poor groundwaters of Guanajuato (Mexico) and in the reducing, Fe-rich groundwaters of West Bengal (India) agreed with voltammetry (slope of 0.91 ± 0.03, r = 0.99, p <  0.001, n = 21). Like for arsenic, oxyanions of Mo, V, U and Cr are retained by ImpAs but their reduced hydroxy forms are not. High As(V) extraction by ImpAs (>95%) was obtained in synthetic groundwater for hundreds of samples without any regeneration, highlighting negligible interactions of major anions such as sulfate, a major advantage over …

Abstract: Gaussian splatting suffers from geometric distortion during scene reconstruction, particularly in weakly textured indoor scenes. To address this issue, this paper proposes a high-precision indoor scene reconstruction method that integrates geometric priors and importance sampling. The proposed method fully considers the effect of the initialization process on reconstruction quality. An advanced feed-forward model is employed to generate high-quality geometric initialization, thus improving overall reconstruction stability and accuracy. Abstract: 3D human reconstruction is critical for VR/AR. Early methods relied on multi-view cameras and depth sensors but were costly. Mid-term approaches using parametric human models enabled efficient single-image reconstruction, while implicit neural representations improved fidelity yet suffered from low efficiency. Currently, 3D Gaussian Splatting achieves high accuracy and real-time rendering as a new paradigm. Challenges include detail distortion and limited generalization, and future development will focus on VR/AR integration.

Abstract: To address the problems that neural radiance fields(NeRF) are prone to artifacts and texture blurring in novel view synthesis under sparse view input and complex scenes, this paper proposed neural radiance fields based on explicit feature matching and scaled dot-product attention(EMD-NeRF). A multiscale feature extraction network was used to extract multi-scale feature information from the input sparse views. Abstract: An analytical reentry guidance method based on the lift-to-drag ratio and velocity profile was proposed to address the challenges of precise flight time control and prohibited area avoidance for the hypersonic glide flight vehicle during the reentry phase. A reduced-order reentry motion model was established; the Chebyshev series was used to approximate its nonlinear integral terms and differential equations; analytical expressions for the glide trajectory were yielded. Abstract: To address the challenges such as low detection efficiency, difficulties in identifying small defects, and poor accuracy in detecting surface defects on automotive wheel hubs, a lightweight neural network called CCL-YOLOv8 was proposed based on an improved YOLOv8n architecture. A synergistic improvement in both detection accuracy and efficiency was achieved through a three-stage model optimization strategy. Abstract: To address the challenges of significant geometric modeling errors, severe detail loss, and low training efficiency in neural radiance field(NeRF) reconstruction under defocused blurred input scenarios, this paper proposes two optimization strategies. One strategy is introducing Triplane features generated by the pre-trained LRM as prior knowledge, and combining a lightweight decoder and directional LoRA module to replace large MLP, thereby reducing parameters and shortening convergence time. Abstract: To address the challenges of low computational efficiency, slow convergence, and limited accuracy in large-scale 3D scene registration, a 3D Gaussian splatting (3DGS) registration method integrating GPS prior information was proposed. Spatial position priors provided by GPS were utilized to establish initial alignment through coordinate system transformations, narrowing the registration search space. Dense point cloud models were efficiently reconstructed by combining 3DGS technology. Highprecision alignment was achieved through a two-stage optimization of GPS coarse registration and fine registration. Abstract: Current trajectory simulation methods inadequately address geometric shape features and kinematic properties of the target trajectory. To bridge this gap, a target trajectory shape simulation algorithm based on kinematic laws was proposed. The polar coordinate equations and curvature equations of multiple trajectories were integrated. The aircraft state parameters were solved by combining kinematic equations. Angular Gaussian noise was introduced to enhance trajectory diversity and authenticity. To solve these problems, a semantic-guided visual place recognition (SG-VPR) algorithm was proposed. A semantic-guided feature suppression module was designed. A semantic-guided module and feature suppression layer were constructed to reduce the dynamic object interference and more accurately extract the key static features. Located at the southern end of San Francisco Bay, Alviso is a historically underrepresented community facing disproportionate impacts of climate change. San José has directly contributed to Alviso’s infrastructure instability, particularly after its controversial 1967 annexation, which excluded Alviso residents from municipal planning processes. Alviso currently ranks in the upper quartile statewide for environmental burden with high exposure to hazardous waste, linguistic isolation, impaired waterways, and solid waste facilities. Bicuspid valves with crescent-shaped leaflets are found in lymphatic vessels and veins, where their primary function is to prevent reflux and ensure unidirectional flow toward the heart. These valves are passive, and their functionality emerges spontaneously from a complex interplay between the properties of the valve leaflets and the flow patterns developing within the vessel sinus region surrounding the valve. The main function of the valves is to limit retrograde flow, or reflux, but the optimal valve structure has not been well characterized. This study aims to characterize the erosional behaviour of the Ganges riverbanks by investigating the geotechnical properties and seasonal hydrological fluctuation in Bangladesh. Multi-temporal satellite images (1973–2020) were analysed using Geographic Information System (GIS) to select study locations for detailed analysis. The GIS-based analysis identified erosion-accretion patterns and highlighted erosion-prone and stable riverbank locations. Further, field investigation, geotechnical laboratory analyses, and slope stability model using SLIDE software were used to assess the targeted study factors from the selected locations. This article examines fishery management along and across the Canadian-US border through the comparison of collaborative transboundary networks in four regions: the Salish Sea, the Great Lakes, the Gulf of Maine, and the northern region including the Gulf of Alaska and the Hecate Strait. Transnational fishery management is an inter-organizational and multi-jurisdictional enterprise constituted by shared understandings of a suite of tasks and by communications among the participants. In emergencies such as natural disasters, armed conflicts, or during outer space missions, the availability of transfusable blood can mean the difference between life and death. Red blood cells (RBCs) must be stored at +4 ± 2 °C and have a shelf life of just 42 days, which makes maintaining a stable blood supply during adverse conditions extraordinarily challenging. This challenge was especially apparent during the COVID-19 pandemic when hospitals faced severe blood shortages. Freeze-drying, or lyophilization, offers a promising avenue to extend the shelf life of RBCs for transfusion during crises. However, a significant hurdle in dry preservation is …
