The objective of the project is to implement a wireless energy transfer system utilizing laser technology. This system involves modulating the laser’s beam profile and spatial distribution through precise optical manipulation. The energy transmitted by the laser is captured by a photovoltaic array, commonly referred to as a solar panel, which is engineered to convert incident photons into direct current (DC) electrical power. In this project, a simple, inexpensive colorimetric and fluorometric method for determining hydrogen peroxide in aqueous samples is described. In this method, aryl boronic acid is de-protected to produce a red dye that absorbs and emits in the red/near infrared region of the electromagnetic spectrum. Upon deprotection by the hydrogen peroxide, an intramolecular charge transfer occurs between a strong phenolate donor and a TCF acceptor to produce the strong absorption and bright fluorescence. This allows naked eye detection of hydrogen peroxide within seconds in water under physiological conditions. The detection limit is impressive and falls in the sub-micromolar (µM) range. …

Increases in volatile organic compounds (VOC) in developing areas poses risks to aquatic health. Water quality changes in surface waters, if measured, are often only for field parameters of pH, specific conductance, water temperature, and major ions, e.g. Ca2+, Mg2+, Na, Cl. Elevated VOC concentrations can negatively impact aquatic ecosystems even at low concentrations, but do not cause changes in commonly measured parameters and may go undetected based on monitoring these common parameters. The goal of our work is the design and construction of an optical trap, also known as an "optical tweezer," using equipment commonly available to the undergraduate physics laboratory. Such devices allow us to observe and manipulate micron-scale (on the order of one-thousandth of a millimeter) objects in 3-dimensional space using only light.

Modern smart contracts save their state transitions on a distributed ledger, such as blockchain [3, 4] or a particularly configured cloud [1]. These approaches necessitate storage and synchronization of large amounts of distributed data, leading to scalability deficiencies in decentralized permissionless smart contract platforms. Charge-To-Mass Ratio Of The Electron, Joseph E. Temple, Zachary D. Jimerson

We measured the charge-to-mass ratio (q/m) of the electron via a method similar to that used by J.J. Thomson in 1897. Our calculated value is q/m = (1.752 +/- 0.046) x 10^11 C/kg, which agrees with the textbook value of 1.759 x 10^11 C/kg within an error of 0.36%. This confirms the viability and accuracy of Thomson's approach for determining the electron's q/m ratio. Observed uncertainties are attributed to variations in the magnetic field within the Helmholtz coil apparatus and fluctuations in current over time.

This study aimed to measure the impact of remote communication as a mediating variable on the relationship between electronic human resources (e-HRM) and organizational performance in Iraqi commercial banks. The cosmic calibration tension is a >5⁢�� discrepancy between the cosmological distance ladder built from baryonic acoustic oscillations calibrated by the Planck/Λ cold dark matter (Λ⁢CDM) sound horizon (����) and type Ia supernovae calibrated instead with the SH0ES absolute magnitude, assuming the distance-duality relationship holds. In this work, we emphasize the consequences of this tension beyond the value of the Hubble constant ��₀ and the implications for physics beyond Λ⁢CDM. Of utmost importance, it implies a larger physical matter density ��ₘ≡Ωₘ⁢ℎ², as both the fractional matter density Ωₘ and ℎ ≡��₀⁡/100 km/s/Mpc are well constrained from late-time data. …

This project presents the development of a second-generation electrometer designed to measure extremely low currents with improved speed and sensitivity. Based on the foundational architecture developed by Vladimir Zavylov, this iteration focuses on enhancing performance through optimized circuit components, modular configuration, and a custom-designed, battery- powered power supply that enables high-voltage floating measurements. The work encompasses the complete design cycle—creating a full schematic, developing a tailored power delivery system, assembling printed circuit boards (PCBs), constructing wiring harnesses, and integrating components into a protective housing.

Self-supervised learning (SSL) enables learning robust representations from unlabeled data and it consists of two stages: pretext and downstream. The representations learnt in the pretext task are transferred to the downstream task. Self-supervised learning has appli- cations in various domains, such as computer vision tasks, natural language processing, speech and audio processing, etc. In transfer learning scenarios, due to differences in the data distribution of the source and the target data, the hierarchical co-adaptation of the representations is destroyed, and hence proper fine-tuning is required to achieve satisfactory performance. For decades, the dominant approach to lead poisoning has been to focus on homes affected by lead paint and to treat children who are already suffering from lead poisoning. This individualizing approach developed in the context of the defunding and deregulation of government agencies in the 1980s. As children progress through developmental stages, they undergo substantial biological, cognitive, and social changes, creating unique needs for online safety across different age groups (e.g., young children, tweens, teens). The existing parental control tools fail to account for these differences, leaving a notable gap in the literature on parental mediation. To this end, we conducted 10 focus group sessions with a total of 20 parents to understand their preferences for age-appropriate design components that promote self-regulation and open communication, followed by an ideation workshop with four UX design experts to translate these preferences into customized features. This research investigates the therapeutic effects of an adaptive haptic heartbeat within Therabot, a stuffed robotic dog. A simulated haptic heartbeat that adjusts its own speed based on user heart rate was developed for integration within Therabot. A user study evaluated the effects of various heartbeat behaviors on user experiences with Therabot, with respect to improvements in self-reported state anxiety, physiological improvements, and perceptions of the robot. A relationship was found between improvements in self-reported state anxiety and positive opinions of Therabot, regardless of condition. It has adverse effects on human health, particularly for high-risk individuals. Ozone is produced by nitrogen oxides and volatile organic compounds from fuel combustion reacting with sunlight. Synthesis Of Organosilicon Substituted Fₓpczn For The Preparation Of Silica-Based Photo-Catalysts, Reagan E. Daly

This study began with the synthesis, purification, and catalytic application of hexadeca fluoro phthalocyanine zinc (F₁₆PcZn) derivatives functionalized with organosilane consuming thiol groups. The F₁₆PcZn was synthesized by reacting tetrafluorophthalonitrile (TFPN) with zinc acetate (Zn(OAc)₂) in 1-chloronaphthalene as a solvent, under a controlled heating process at 185°C for 90 minutes. The resulting blue solid was purified via vacuum filtration and recrystallization techniques to remove residual solvents and by-products, yielding pure F₁₆PcZn. The purity of the product was assessed through UV-Vis spectroscopy, MALDI analysis, and a molar extinction coefficient was determined.
