Modern and autonomous hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs), as complex cyber-physical systems, represent a key innovation in the future of transportation. However, the increasing interconnectivity and reliance on digital components expose these vehicles to significant cybersecurity risks. Barataria Bay, Louisiana, USA exhibits a unique microtidal, wind-driven hydrodynamic climate where extensive levee infrastructure throughout Louisiana has starved Barataria Bay and similar interdistributary bays of the historic levels of terrigenous sediment import. This has contributed to extreme coastal wetland loss in Louisiana. This project seeks to understand how hydrodynamic and meteorological conditions are linked to sediments’ fate after erosion from the marsh edge. The rapid evolution of SARS-CoV-2 has underscored the need for a detailed understanding of antibody binding mechanisms to combat immune evasion by emerging variants. In this study, we investigated the interactions between Class I neutralizing antibodies—BD55-1205, BD-604, OMI-42, P5S-1H1, and P5S-2B10—and the receptor-binding domain (RBD) of the SARS-CoV-2 spike protein using multiscale modeling, which combined molecular simulations with the ensemble-based mutational scanning of the binding interfaces and binding free energy computations. Qadum: Journal of Excavation Reports from Israel

An extensive brown sandy double-unit sediment, draping large parts of the archaeological remains at the Winepress Park in Rishon Le-Ẓiyyon, is suggested to be associated with the previously reported, undated ʻEn Ha-Qore clay. Based on relative age port-OSL profiling, the depositional mechanism of this unit and the overlying sand is suggested to be related to late Holocene, dune-dammed winter ponds. These aeolian-fluvial dune-damming processes may have been partly triggered by intensive Byzantine human activity that may have led to sand mobilization.

Teaching Ai Ethics And Skepticism: The Impact Of Instruction On Ethical Usage On Students’ Perceptions, Jenna D. Justin

Journal of Practitioner Research

This study investigates the ethical implications of artificial intelligence (AI) in K-12 education, focusing on how explicit instruction influences students' perceptions of AI tools like ChatGPT. Conducted with 80 sixth-grade students at A.D. Henderson University School and FAU High School, the research tracks changes in student understanding and skepticism of AI following a World History unit. Pre- and post-instruction surveys revealed a decline in comfort with AI as students became more aware of its ethical concerns, including plagiarism, bias, and misinformation. The findings suggest integrating AI ethics into the middle school curriculum to foster responsible AI usage among students.

In the present work we introduce harmonic univalent functions related to Janowski close-to-convexity and we provide their necessary and sufficient criteria. The extreme points and topological features of such harmonic mappings will also be investigated. By applying extreme points theory, we obtain integral mean inequalities, distortion theorems, and coefficient estimates for families of harmonic functions.

In this paper, fractional backward stochastic differential equations are extended to multivalued forms. Since the problem of approximate controllability of the obtained fractional backward stochastic differential inclusions has not yet been addressed in the literature, we focus on the approximate controllability of these systems. The study’s main results, such as existence of the mild solution and approximate controllability for fractional backward stochastic differential inclusions, have been proven through fractional calculus, Bohnenblust-Karlin Theorem, and appropriate conditions.

The Circular Sum Of Points Of An Affine Segment, Mircea Crasmareanu, Marius Munteanu

This note introduces a sum for two interior points of an affine segment [AB] based on a trigonometric approach. Some properties of this operation, along with general examples (including squares of endpoints, the midpoint, and the centroid), are discussed. A main result is that the midpoint of a segment is the circular sum of the points dividing the segment with the ratios 4 and 9. In addition, we completely solve a Diophantine equation associated with the circular sum in order to identify all points with integer ratio whose circular sum is a point with integer ratio.

The analytical solution of the linear ψ -Prabhakar delay differential equations is explored using the method of variation of parameters, in which a ψ -general delayed exponential matrix function is introduced. The ψ -Prabhakar calculus is enhanced in terms of the semi-group property, inversion results, and several simplified calculations and relations. The system's stability is analyzed within the framework of Ulam-Hyers stability. Finally, the theoretical findings are validated through an application to antibiotic production.

A well-known theorem due to Ankeny and Rivlin states that if p(z) is a polynomial of degree n such that p(z) has no zero in |z| < 1, then
max|z|=R≥1 |p(z)| ≤ (Rn + 1 / 2) max|z|=1 |p(z)|.
This research examines the polynomial p(z), ensuring that it has no zero in the disk |z| < k, where k ≥ 1. At the same time, we investigate the sth derivative of this polynomial, where 0 ≤ s < n. In our effort to establish integral formulations of the inequalities related to the derivatives of this class of polynomials, we have successfully extended and generalized Ankeny and Rivlin’s inequality to integral settings. Additionally, part of our findings provides integral analogs of results by Mir [J. Anal., 27 (2019), 851−857]. Moreover, another aspect of our work leads to an improvement in the result of Jain [Turk. J. Math., 31 (2007), 89−94], which we have also verified using an example. We have also compared our results with a previously known result using this numerical example, where the bounds that are in terms of integral means are estimated numerically by numerical integration using Simpson’s 1/3rd rule and illustrate graphically the obtained inequalities as regards sharpness.

While national dialogue often focuses on economic development, climate change, or energy, the sanitation crisis receives little public attention, yet it poses an equally severe risk to public health, environmental integrity, and sustainable urbanization. This study introduces a novel multivariable optimal control framework for hemodialysis, which uniquely integrates five physiological states (blood urea concentration, fluid volume, blood pressure, electrolytes, and hemoglobin) with three clinically adjustable inputs (ultrafiltration rate, blood flow, and dialysate composition). By employing the limited-memory Broyden-Fletcher-Goldfarb-Shanno-B (L-BFGS-B) algorithm with patient-specific box constraints, the model enforces patient-specific physiological safety limits while dynamically balancing clinical targets. Numerical simulations demonstrate the stabilization of key parameters within ±5% of clinical benchmarks (e.g., KDIGO guidelines), though deviations in the hemodynamic responses underscore the need for adaptive control in real-world scenarios. Phase-change materials (PCMs) are essential for achieving tunability of metasurfaces. However, they frequently face limitations in the long-wave infrared range because of their lossy behavior. Here, we experimentally demonstrate a thermally tunable mid-infrared nanocavity resonance from coupled surface plasmon-phonon polaritons that are supported within a trilayer structure of metal-PCM layer-polar dielectric (Au-VO2-SiC). The top metal structures configure the Fabry-Perot cavity resonance near 840 cm−1 (11.9 µm), which is sensitively tunable and reversible with small changes in the VO2 refractive index ∆n near below its insulator-to-metal phase transition temperature where the loss is small.
