(LJA) on behalf of Orange County to conduct an intensive cultural resources inventory and assessment for the proposed Old Spanish Trail Roadway Improvements Project south of Vidor in Orange County, Texas. The proposed undertaking would involve expanding and improving the existing two-lane gravel roadway of Old Spanish Trail. The project area extends approximately 0.8 kilometer (0.5 mile) in length from the intersection of Old Spanish Trail and Red Oak Street northwestward to a flood-control levee located approximately 0.2 kilometer (0.1 mile) south of Ofiel Road. (RKEI), was contracted by CPS Energy (CLIENT) to conduct cultural resources monitoring investigations for the CPS Energy (CPSE) 96th Street Riser Installation Project in southern San Antonio, Bexar County, Texas. The project involved the installation of a 3-inch riser and a secondary enclosure within the 96th Street right-of-way (ROW). Given that the project took place within a publically owned ROW, and because CPSE is a political subdivision of the State of Texas, the project fell under the jurisdiction of Chapter 35 of the Unified Development Code of the City of San Antonio, as well as the …

On January 17 and 30, 2018, archeologists from aci consulting conducted an intensive pedestrian survey prior to construction of the Cottonwood Wastewater Interceptor Phase C-2, in Williamson County, Texas. The original alignment for the proposed Cottonwood Wastewater Interceptor Phase C-2 alignment was 0.26 mile (0.42 kilometer) in length including a 20-foot buffer, totaling 1.26 acres (0.51 hectare). On December 3, 2019, a reroute of the proposed line was also surveyed. This final alignment and final Area of Potential Effect (APE) is 0.94 mile (1.51 kilometers) in length with a 25-foot buffer, totaling 5.7 acres (2.3 hectares).

The Pearson site (41RA5) in the Blackland Prairie of East Texas is one of a number of aboriginal archaeological sites recorded during a 1957 archaeological survey of the flood pool of then proposed Lake Tawakoni on the Sabine River; the site is now inundated. The Pearson site was located on several low sandy rises across ca. 25 acres in the Hooker Creek-Sabine River floodplain, and these rises had both aboriginal and European artifacts on the surface. Palo Duro Canyon has been an important locale for human occupation with its distinct topography, fauna, and flora from the Paleoindian inhabitants to those of the Historic Period. There is archeological evidence of human habitation at Palo Duro Canyon throughout the past 12 millennia. Native Americans who lived in and around the canyon had access to resources not easily found on the adjoining upland plains. The canyon provided an abundance of sheltered camping and year-round supply to water, wood, stone tool materials, game, and wild plant resources. Boca Chica Beach spans the south Texas coast in Cameron County for a distance of roughly 12 kilometers between Brazos Santiago Pass and the mouth of the Rio Grande River at the Texas and Mexican border. More than 165 historic ships have been reported lost along the south Texas coast in this general area and at least four, or portions thereof, have been discovered so far.
