Sherds from aboriginally-made ceramic vessels have been recovered on sites dating after ca. 2000 years B.P. in the Yegua Creek drainage of the Brazos River basin in the Post Oak Savannah of Burleson, Lee, and Washington counties in east central Texas (Figure 1). These sherds are from several different wares, including sandy paste Goose Creek Plain sherds made by Mossy Grove peoples, ancestral Caddo tempered and decorated wares made in East Texas, bone-tempered sandy paste wares that may be representative of a local ceramic tradition, and bone-tempered sherds from Leon Plain vessels made by Central Texas Toyah phase peoples. Included in the ancestral Caddo ceramic vessels in the Texas Archeological Research Laboratory (TARL) whole vessel collection is one vessel from a reported site in the Attoyac Bayou basin: 41NA16 (H. G. Moore) in Nacogdoches County in East Texas. The Attoyac Bayou is a major southward-flowing tributary to the Angelina River. The vessel is fully documented in this article.

The Project consists of the installation of a 3.44-mile (5.53-kilometer) long steel supply gas main in eastern Bexar County, Texas. The total size of the proposed area of investigation is 22.9 acres (9.3 ha) in extent, which represents the area of potential effects (APE) for the Project. The proposed project has been determined by the Texarkana Metropolitan Planning Organization to be a necessary transportation improvement for the City of Texarkana under a Texas Transportation Improvement Plan overseen by the Texas Department of Transportation. The Gibson Lane Expansion Project will be constructed on a section of private property slated for future development by the City of Texarkana. On January 17 and 30, 2018, archeologists from aci consulting conducted an intensive pedestrian survey prior to construction of the Cottonwood Wastewater Interceptor Phase C-2, in Williamson County, Texas. The original alignment for the proposed Cottonwood Wastewater Interceptor Phase C-2 alignment was 0.26 mile (0.42 kilometer) in length including a 20-foot buffer, totaling 1.26 acres (0.51 hectare). On December 3, 2019, a reroute of the proposed line was also surveyed. This final alignment and final Area of Potential Effect (APE) is 0.94 mile (1.51 kilometers) in length with a 25-foot buffer, totaling 5.7 acres (2.3 hectares).
