James Hevia’s very accomplished history, Animal Labor and Colonial Warfare, actually contains more than one history. A history of the military’s reliance on nonhuman animal (animal) labour emerges from a history of the administrative procedures of a British colonial regime. Some years ago, I went searching for this type of animal history to contextualize colonial war re-enactments with circus and menagerie animals. Hevia provides statistical information about the animals involved in colonial military ventures, breaking down the figures by species and compiling total numbers and percentages. Colonialist concepts continue to drive Parks and Wildlife/ Conservation Department policies and practices in Australia and other settler colonies. In the case of Australia, returning the country to its pre- European invasion (pristine) condition becomes policy dictate, even where the often draconian implementations of these parameters prove unsuitable or even dangerous. The ‘political turn’ in animal studies (see Milligan, Boyer et al.; Garner and O’Sullivan; Cavalieri ‘Animal Liberation: A Political Perspective’) has offered some unique trajectories for realising improvements for animals. Where traditional animal ethics was dominated by a focus on normative concerns for how humans should act with respect to animals, the recent movement towards politics has effected a shift in favour of thinking about how human-animal relations are shaped by institutions, political structures and actors, the role of the state and private governance, power relations and problems of strategy. Animal activism has an increasing focus on carceral based punishment that argues for animal abuse to be harshly prosecuted. One of the emerging trends is advocating for Animal Abuse Registries similar to the US-style of Sex Offender Registry. This paper challenges the effectiveness and suitability of these Animal Abuse Registries through a critical reflection on Sex Offender Registries. In 2012, Vicki Hutton interviewed eleven men in Australia who had contracted HIV. The interviews focused on the healing effects of living with ‘companion animals’, some of whom attended the interviews. Hutton illustrates repeatedly how these animals embodied a reason for HIV survivors to live in spite of the repercussions of the disease they suffered – stigma, social alienation and often traumatic treatments. Caring for an animal inspired the human to choose life over succumbing to death. การวิจัยนี้เป็นการวิจัยจากการตั้งข้อสังเกตถึงการสร้างสรรค์ผลงานศิลปะในเรื่องของสภาวะปัจจัยทางด้านอารมณ์และความรู้สึก ไปจนถึงกระบวนการสร้างสรรค์เพื่อนำมาซึ่งผลของการวิเคราะห์ให้เกิดผลลัพธ์เป็นที่ประจักษ์ นำสื่อศิลปะภาพพิมพ์เป็นเทคนิคในการสร้างสรรค์ผลงาน โดยมีที่มาจากการทำงานในชีวิตประจำวันที่ผู้วิจัยมีส่วนร่วมในการสร้างสรรค์ผลงานกับศิลปิน อารมณ์ร่วมถือเป็นหนึ่งในปัจจัยหลักของการสร้างสรรค์ผลงาน ความปรวนแปรอาจส่งผลต่อผลลัพธ์ของผลงานได้ การจัดการสภาวะอารมณ์จึงเป็นเรื่องที่ผู้สร้างสรรค์จำเป็นที่จะต้องจัดการกับตนเองในแต่ละวัน เพื่อให้เกิดผลงานที่ดีที่สุดออกมาในแต่ละชิ้นงาน ดังนั้นจึงเป็นเหตุที่ผู้วิจัยนำสภาวะอารมณ์มาเป็นข้อสังเกตต่อการทำงานวิจัยไปจนถึงกระบวนการสร้างสรรค์ผลงานโดยมีสื่อศิลปะภาพพิมพ์เป็นเทคนิคในการสร้างสรรค์ จากการศึกษาทฤษฎีที่เกี่ยวข้องทั้ง สภาวะอารมณ์ จิตวิทยา รวมถึงผลงานศิลปกรรมที่มีปัจจัยทางอารมณ์ในการสร้างสรรค์ผลงาน ผู้วิจัยได้วิเคราะห์และสังเคราะห์และสร้างแนวทางการวิจัยออกมาเป็นรูปแบบผลงานดังนี้ 1.การศึกษาและเก็บข้อมูลโดยใช้รูปแบบการทำงานของ Process Art โดยเป็นวิธีการทำงานแบบเก็บข้อมูลจากการสร้างสรรค์ผลงานภาพพิมพ์ประจำวัน (Daily Life) เพื่อสร้างชุดข้อมูลในการวิเคราะห์ปัจจัยในสัมพันธภาพระหว่าง อารมณ์ในแต่ละวัน : การสร้างสรรค์ผลงานศิลปะ 2.นำเสนอผลงานด้วยวิธีการ Appropriation Art โดยใช้รูปแบบการสร้างสรรค์ของศิลปะ Abstract Expressionism ที่มีวิธีการทำงานเพื่อมุ่งเน้นทางด้านแสดงออกทางอารมณ์ ความรู้สึก ผ่านการสร้างสรรค์ผลงานศิลปะ โดยผู้วิจัยใช้แนวคิดดังกล่าวสร้างเป็นผลงานวิจัย เปรียบเสมือนเป็นการจดบันทึกอารมณ์ เนื้อหา-เรื่องราว และประสบการณ์สร้างเป็นผลงานในแต่ละวัน จากนั้นนำชุดข้อมูลจากผลที่ได้มาศึกษา , สังเกต และวิเคราะห์ถึงรูปแบบของผลงานที่ปรากฏออกมาในแต่ละชิ้น หาปัจจัยของความแตกต่างในแต่ละผลงานเพื่อทำความเข้าใจถึงรูปแบบที่แสดงถึงปัจจัยทางด้านอารมณ์ ความรู้สึกแสดงออกมาว่ามีผลต่อการสร้างสรรค์ผลงานศิลปะอย่างไร ใช้วิธีการจดบันทึกสภาวะอารมณ์ผ่านการสร้างสรรค์ผลงานศิลปะภาพพิมพ์ โดยหยิบยืมรูปแบบ Abstract Expressionism ถ่ายทอดสภาวะของอารมณ์ที่เกิดขึ้นในแต่ละวัน แสดงให้เห็นถึงวิธีการสื่อสารอีกรูปแบบหนึ่ง ผลงานที่ปรากฎจากการบันทึกเป็นเสมือนการเล่าเรื่อง บอกเนื้อหา ถ่ายทอดประสบการณ์ของผู้วิจัยด้วยผลงานที่สร้างขึ้นในแต่ละวันที่มีเนื้อหาแตกต่างกันออกไป

งานวิจัยชิ้นนี้เป็นส่วนหนึ่งของงานวิจัยเรื่อง “การสร้างสรรค์นาฏยศิลป์จากกระบวนท่ารำอาทมาฏ ดาบพระนเรศวร” ผู้วิจัยได้รับแรงบันดาลใจจากกระบวนท่ารำอาทมาฏ ดาบพระนเรศวร ซึ่งมีระเบียบวิธีการวิจัยแบบการวิจัยเชิงคุณภาพ และการทดลองเชิงสร้างสรรค์ โดยศึกษาจากเอกสาร การสัมภาษณ์ สื่อสารสนเทศ การสำรวจข้อมูลจากการสังเกตการณ์ การสัมมนา เกณฑ์มาตรฐานศิลปิน รวมถึงประสบการณ์ตรงของผู้วิจัย โดยศึกษาเพื่อนำไปสู่รูปแบบการสร้างสรรค์นาฏยศิลป์จากกระบวนท่ารำ อาทมาฏ ดาบพระนเรศวร ผลการวิจัย พบว่า รูปแบบการสร้างสรรค์สามารถจำแนกตามองค์ประกอบทางด้านนาฏยศิลป์ 8 ประการ ได้แก่ 1) บทการแสดง แบ่งเป็น 4 องก์ ได้แก่ คลุมไตรภพ ตลบสิงขร ย้อนฟองสมุทร และหนุมานเชิญธง 2) คัดเลือกนักแสดง ผู้วิจัยคัดเลือกจากผู้ที่มีทักษะนาฏศิลป์ไทยดั้งเดิม นาฏศิลป์สมัยใหม่และศิลปะการป้องกันจากกระบวนท่ารำอาทมาฏ ดาบพระนเรศวร 3) ลีลาการเคลื่อนไหว มีแนวคิดการออกแบบลีลาการเคลื่อนไหวร่างกายจากนาฏยศิลป์ไทย และนาฏยศิลป์สมัยใหม่ โดยให้ความสำคัญกับกระบวนท่ารำอาทมาฏ ดาบพระนเรศวร 4) อุปกรณ์ประกอบการแสดงให้ความสำคัญ และได้รับอิทธิพลจากรูปแบบดาบดั้งเดิม 5) เสียงประกอบการแสดง ใช้เครื่องดนตรีไทย 3 ชิ้น ได้แก่ กลองศึก ปี่ใน โหม่ง และเสียงสังเคราะห์ที่แสดงถึงความฮึกเหิมจนถึงความศักดิ์สิทธิ์ 6) เครื่องแต่งกาย ใช้เครื่องแต่งกายแบบชุดไทยประเพณีดั้งเดิม และเครื่องแต่งกายในสังคมปัจจุบัน 7) พื้นที่ในการแสดง ใช้พื้นที่สี่เหลี่ยมแบบเรียบง่ายเพื่อสะดวกในการเปลี่ยนแปลงแบบรูปของการแสดง 8) แสง ใช้สีของแสงเพื่อแสดงอารมณ์และบรรยากาศตามบทการแสดง นอกจากนี้ ยังมีแนวคิดของหลักการสร้างสรรค์ผลงาน 4 ประการ ได้แก่ 1) แนวคิดชื่อกระบวนท่ารำอาทมาฏ ดาบพระนเรศวร 2) แนวคิดความหลากหลาย 3) แนวคิดสัญลักษณ์ 4) แนวคิดปัญหาทางสังคม ซึ่งผลการวิจัยในครั้งนี้ เป็นไปตามเป้าหมาย และวัตถุประสงค์ของผู้วิจัยทุกประการ อีกทั้งยังประประโยชน์เป็นแนวทางในการสร้างสรรค์ผลงานทางด้านนาฏยศิลป์ต่อไปในอนาคต

งานวิจัยนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์ เพื่อศึกษาความเชื่อของผู้คนที่มาบนบานศาลกล่าวต่อองค์พระพิฆเนศ พระตรีมูรติและพระพรหมเอราวัณ ในเขตพื้นที่ศึกษา บริเวณสี่แยกราชประสงค์ กรุงเทพมหานคร ผลงานวิจัยนี้เป็นการศึกษาวิจัยเชิงคุณภาพ จากการเก็บข้อมูลภาคเอกสารและภาคสนาม โดยสร้างสรรค์ชุดผลงานศิลปะสื่อภาพถ่ายเครื่องบรรณาการและความเชื่อต่อสิ่งศักดิ์สิทธิ์ในสังคมไทยร่วมสมัย นำเสนอจินตนาการจากโต๊ะเครื่องของแก้บนต่อองค์เทพทั้ง 3 องค์ ด้วยเทคนิคภาพถ่ายและการปรับแต่งภาพทางเทคนิคคอมพิวเตอร์ ผลงานสร้างสรรค์ทั้งหมด 12 ชิ้น สะท้อนแนวคิดเจตจำนงทางความเชื่อ Will to Believe และ แนวคิดวัตถุทางวัฒนธรรม (Material Culture) ภายใต้ชุดความเชื่อผ่านวัตถุเครื่องของแก้บนโดยสิทธิ เจตจำนง ว่าด้วยเรื่องของกระบวนการทางพิธีกรรม การส่งมอบบูชาถวายและการรับถวายไปขององค์เทพ จากการศึกษาพบว่าผลงานศิลปกรรมสื่อภาพถ่าย ได้อธิบายสถานะของวัตถุเครื่องของแก้บนผ่านประสบการณ์ความเชื่อ อยู่บนพื้นฐานความเชื่อที่มีต่อสิ่งศักดิ์สิทธิ์ปรากฏเกิดขึ้นร่วมกันของคนในสังคมเขตพื้นที่ศึกษา บริเวณสี่แยกราชประสงค์ กรุงเทพมหานคร กระบวนการสร้างสรรค์ศิลปะได้นำเสนอภาพถ่ายให้เป็นสื่อกลางความน่าเชื่อถือ เพื่อเป็นเครื่องยืนยันผ่านวัตถุเครื่องเซ่นไหว้สักการะ ของภาษาสื่อสารระหว่างมนุษย์กับองค์เทพ เป็นการรับรู้ทางความเชื่อ การทำให้ความเชื่อ ความศักดิ์สิทธิ์สามารถอธิบายได้ด้วยสื่อภาพถ่าย (Transistor) สู่กระบวนการแปลงค่าความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างวัตถุกับความศักดิ์สิทธิ์ (Transmission) และสร้างสถานะความศักดิ์สิทธิ์ให้จับต้องได้ นำมาห่อหุ้มวัตถุผ่านกระบวนการพิธีกรรมบูชาถวายจากการแปลงสภาพ (Transform)
