This critical approach highlights the grammatical structures, similes, syntactic metaphors and technical methods and styles that the Saudi author Laila Al-Juhani used in her text (40 in the Sense of Growing) to express her feelings regards the changes that occur by the age of forty. The significance of this study relies in its attempt to examine the impact of the awareness of time on the formation of discourse. It addresses an artistic treatment and a discussion of the philosophical dimensions of the controversial of "awareness" and the problem of "time" and their impact on the discourse of revealing.

This article re-examines the authenticity of Sayf Bin Omar's account of the ridda among Tamīm, his own tribe. Sayf implies that the main body of Tamīm remained faithful to Madina at the advent of Muhammad's death. However, modern scholars have discredited Sayf's account on the grounds that 1) the Hadīth's critics considered him unreliable; hence rejecting his transmissions altogether. 2) All other Arab historians disagree with him on this matter. This research is based on the recent Hebrew translations of the Holy Quran: Al-Adawi and Al-Basul’s translations. In this research, I critically analyze these two translations in light of three phenomena of the Arabic rhetorics; specifically, antonymy, synonymy, and polysemy. Based on this research, I conclude that both translators did not consider the above mentioned phenomena for various reasons. First, it is because of the inability to convey the intended meanings on the part of the translators. The paper examines the poetic implications in the epistle of Rasf Al Farid on Wasf Albarid by exploring the poetics of the title, structural and semantic displacement, and intertextuality as represented in poetry, religion, and folklore. The paper further focuses on the poetics of rhythm and music through the use of such lexical decorations as alliteration, assonance, and parallelism which is produced from acoustic effects.

This article explores sibling relations in Mamdūḥ ‘Azzām’s (1950- ) Lā tukhbir al-ḥiṣān (2019, Don’t Tell the Horse). Using Mikhail Bakhtin’s (1895-1975) theories on the dialogic nature of the novel and the polyphony of voices existing in a single text, the article charts the characters’ movement in and out of the different storylines in ‘Azzām’s novel, and the way in which this informs the dynamic of the family story.
