This research discusses Initial Public Offerings: Legal Protection of Minority Shareholders and Its Influence on Company Performance. This research aims to provide knowledge to the public regarding legal protection for minority shareholders and its influence on company performance from a national legal perspective. This type of research is normative research with the research approach used is a legal and conceptual approach. The research results show that: (1) The process of attracting investors to invest their capital cannot be separated from good regulations and legal certainty. Intellectual property (“IP”) law serves as the protective cornerstone for the creative industries—an especially important one at a time when unprecedented global connectivity links so many and in the process, so greatly heightens the potential for improper takings. Yet, a growing body of legal scholarship delves into a fascinating counterpoint: the “negative space” of IP. As Kal Raustiala and Christopher Sprigman posit in their Article, The Piracy Paradox, these creative endeavors “remain creative (and consequently do not require protection) precisely because they exhibit positionality sufficiently strong that it provokes a constant stream of new innovation.” This space encompasses creative fields …

ABSTRACT

This transcendental phenomenological study explored the lived experiences of Black women leaders as education policymakers to understand the essence of their journey to leadership positions and the impetus behind their decision-making. Despite progress, Black women remain marginalized and underrepresented in policymaking leadership roles and decision-making spaces (Griffin et. al, 2013). They face challenges that are intersectional like gender and race. My research question was what are the lived experiences of Black women education policymakers and how do these experiences impact their decision-making? As dean of the Indiana University Maurer School of Law, I have the privilege of seeing howour community makes a positive impact on local, state, national, and international affairsevery day.

Our students—deeply involved in their studies—still find time to donate thousands of hoursof pro bono service every single year. Our alumni, 12,000-plus strong, bring pride to ourschool and the legal profession every day. The Cardozo Journal of Conflict Resolution will present this year’s award to Dr. Richard Haass, President Emeritus of the Council on Foreign Relations and Senior Counselor with Centerview Partners. Dr. Haass chaired the multiparty negotiations in Northern Ireland that provided the 2014 Stormont House Agreement, earning him the 2013 Tipperary International Peace Award.
