We frame our experiences as narratives, and associate the narrative with the book. My work takes the form of an immersive installation of printed, paper polyhedrons that act for me as non-traditional book structures. The planes of the polyhedrons function as pages without prescribing a certain order of events. The focus has been to blur the linear narrative into a body of visual work that represents my particular human experience, one full of memories and dreams, contradictions and juxtapositions, chaos and calm. Technology has given us many ways of communicating. The most emerging and evolving network of exchanging information today is social media. Communicating in Today’s Network is a thesis that examines and explores different trends in social media. This body of this work is a result of data collected by surveying active users of social media in society. The results are visually communicated through information graphics. It is intended to inform designers of the importance in learning and identifying ways to communicate with our new developing medium, social media.

Inspired by entertaining, opinionated voices with debatable, controversial messages I wrote "Sacramento." EVA RIVERA, a 32 year old Honduran poet is captured and incarcerated by the "Maduros Guerrilla" due to her controversial political activism through a network called "Las Hijas Del Maiz." After being held captive, tortured and raped, she miraculously escapes. She manages to return home, gather her belongings and cross the border, all the way to New York via Canada. Al cuerpo lo que pida, is a novel that addresses the old topic of disloyalty in contemporary Mexico City society. It narrates in first person the inner-conflict of the protagonist, Mercedes Santamaria, who tries to lead a double life. On one hand she is in love with her husband, Fernando, and on the other hand, she is incapable of stopping her impulses with other men, which puts her marriage in jeopardy. She turns to her late grandmother, as an alter ego, for advice.

A City Fragmented, is an explorartion of the city of El Paso and its various districts. Through this a fragmentation within the city is found. This fragmentation gives El Paso a unique character, one that threads each distric together which creates a connection. A City Fragmented, revolves around the themes of loss and want, which look to help find an identity for El Paso, the speaker and the poet.
