قام الباحثان بتحقيق هذا النَّص النَّقدي الذي عرض فيه مُؤَلِّفُه قضيَّة شغلت النُّقَّاد في القديم والحديث، وهي تتعلَّق بموقف الإسلام من الشِّعر، وقد حقَّقنا هذا النصَّ تحقيقًا علمِيًّا دقيقًا، وتناولنا فيه الحديث عن ثلاثة محاور بالإضافة إلى النَّصِّ المُحَقَّق. أمَّا المحور الأوَّل ففصَّلنا فيه الحديث عن حياة المُؤَلِّف محمد بن إبراهيم بن الحنبليّ (ت971هـ)، واقتصر المحور الثَّاني على المخطوط من حيث وصف نسخته الفريدة، وبيان أهميَّته، ومنهج التحقيق. وتناولنا في المحور الثَّالث أراء النُّقَّاد القدامى والمحدثين في قضية الإٍسلام والشِّعر وانقسامهم إلى فريقين بين مؤيِّد ومعارض، عارضين وجهة نظرهم الخاصَّة في تلك القضيَّة.
