傳說彼岸花是地獄之花，有著死亡、離別與悲傷回憶的含義。花開彼岸，冷冽的外表既美麗又憂傷，可惜花生葉落，葉長花凋，此花在命運中注定孤獨。花朵盛開之日，是幸福的來臨，還是劫難的開始？

莠芳是名性工作者，她背負失敗的婚姻，獨自養活女兒，可惜母女關係一直疏離。故事講述她在位於油麻地的一棟唐樓工作，自卑的她拒絕別人的好意，卻又一直默默守護身邊的人，不論對女兒、朋友及鄰居等，也展現強烈的情感。隨著舊樓即將被收購重建，主角重新審視這座大廈對她的意義。她一直渴望擁有一個美好的家，但隨著收購的日子迫近，她的夢想是否能如願？

「一樓一」與唐樓的關係緊密，此篇小說旨在以獨特的視野帶出香港舊樓重建的議題。隨著社會發展，香港越來越多舊樓面臨被拆卸重建，莠芳的故事只是社會上的縮影，而事實上，更多小市民被地產商剝削，卻無處申訴。筆者希望通過小說寫出舊樓對某些市民的意義，並期望借此引起其他人對這議題的關注。《彼岸花》寫舊樓收購下的小市民、本地性工作者，也寫一個卑微的母親。

汪精衛廬山詩研究, Lai Kan Lam

汪精衛，民國時期政治人物，早年以行刺清攝政王載灃失敗下獄傳世，後於第二次中日戰爭鼓吹「和平運動」而身敗名裂。至今學界研究大多論述其爭議的政治立場，近年雖有研究結合汪精衛的詩詞論述其背後的政治話語，但從文學角度研究汪精衛的詩詞，仍屬少數。

本文以汪精衛的山水詩為研究對象，以其廬山詩為例，全文共分四章：第一章為緒論，交代研究緣起、文獻回顧及研究方法，當中簡單交代汪精衛背景及研究山水詩在汪精衛的詩詞創作的意義。第二章以文史互證方法，嘗試疏理汪精衛出遊廬山的背景，並作創作時期的分類。第三章根據第二章創作時期的分類，提出汪精衛山水詩的藝術技巧及特色，從用境寫意、以景賦情、以我寫物三方面，論述汪精衛山水詩在不同時期的同異。第四章從歸立上兩章對汪精衛山水詩的論述，分析其詩中廬山的形象和意蘊作為結論。

楊向奎「五十凡論說」補述, Ziqian Yang

關於《左傳》“五十凡”來源、性質的探討，自杜預提出始，就成為歷代學者爭論不休的話題，論者對其來源、性質的判定辨析迄今無定論。眾說大多考證片面，理據不足，或先入為主，或有師承關係，使得“五十凡”來源問題越來越複雜化，難以讓人信服。

直到上世紀三十年代，楊向奎先生(1910-2000)通過對《左傳》凡例逐條研究，辯駁大半，於一九三五年寫就〈略論“五十凡”〉一文，反駁了杜預說，孔子非本凡例而修《經》基本已成鐵案；經歷了對《小戴禮記》中類似凡例記載的整理，對《尚書大傳》引《左傳》凡例的歸納，加上細讀文本，楊先生進一步修正了自己的意見。其後發表的〈論凡例〉，澄清了若干歷代關於凡例來源的關鍵問題，普遍為當時及後世學者所接受。

本文旨在通過細析楊向奎“五十凡論說”，著重關注楊先生兩次論說之間的變化，找出變化的原因，指出楊先生“五十凡論說”中有說服力的地方，並嘗試對當中部分例說進行補充，使其更加完善。最後，以楊先生之說為基礎，筆者將嘗試對“五十凡”性質和來源問題提出幾點自己的想法。

The Chinese legacy in Cuba exists in a dual state, at once both a fundamental aspect of the Cuban people and the Cuban nationality while also an oft-overlooked strand in the fabric of Cuban society and culture. While today the official number of Chinese-born Cubans in Cuba is low, the number of Chinese-descendants in Cuba may well number in the hundreds of thousands. This duality merits exploration, as it sheds light on the unique experiences of Chinese Cubans and Chinese-descendants through several eras of Cuban history. For centuries, China sought to suppress opium consumption within its borders. Following the Chinese Communist Party’s rise to power, the 1950’s drug suppression campaign initiated new attempts to bring about the end of opium’s presence within Chinese society. What led to this campaign’s success is its utilization of different strategies within each region of focus. The combination of strategies used allowed the CCP to eradicate all forms of the opium market in both urban and rural areas where the campaign was active. This thesis examines the methods used during the campaign and how these methods resulted in the campaign’s success.

This dissertation addresses the gendered implications of science and technology in the era of reforms. It argues that in this era, which began in 1978 and continues today, science and technology are highly romanticized as nearly omnipotent. 自上世紀末起，不少學者已展開針對漢語與外文字詞混雜使用的研究，並稱此類進入漢語語法體制的詞彙為「字母詞」；當《現代漢語詞典》正式把「西文字母開頭的詞語」收錄入冊後，此課題得到更多人關注。對於「字母詞」的界定，雖然至今仍未有絕對一統的定義，但基本共識都是要求該詞彙擁有一些特殊的表徵，例如緊縮、與固定漢字組合、難以對譯等，而不會把日常語碼混合 (code mixing) 中借用到的英語詞都歸為同一類。然而，港式粵語中卻有一些特別的英語詞彙，它們保留著原來英語的發音和書寫方式，卻不再遵從原先的語法功能和意義，僅僅被香港的粵語使用者所能理解及廣泛普遍地應用。

本文挑選了「friend」、「OK」、「short」這三個經常被本地人使用的英語詞作分析。研究它們在粵語句子中充當的功能並且探討它們與其粵語對應詞的關係，在語法層面上歸納一套能夠解釋這類英語詞借入粵語的規律和機制。

In this work, I discuss how global products/ identities are made, transported and consumed, and the inevitable ‘mis-’ in acts of transmission. This research ranges from the miscommunication in languages and linguistics, to the gap between production and consumption. I investigate how things and humans are misread, mispronounced, misfit and mistranslated when they traverse social and cultural borders, arriving at a place in between languages, holding on to and letting go of things that are familiar to neither and both cultures. This paper aims to assess the reception of the currently developing #MeToo movement in China from the perspective of Chinese internet users, feminists, and the state government as well as how censorship affects the way in which these individuals express their opinions on gendered sexual violence in Chinese society. Jianshangdejiaoyaba (肩上的脚丫吧), also known as Yaba (丫吧), is a forum on the Chinese website Baidu Tieba (百度贴吧) containing stories and questions from users that focus on homosexual experience and identity in China. The members of the forum communicate using Linyu (淋语), a form of Chinese Internet Language (CIL). This thesis seeks to understand why and how Yaba (丫吧) users use the word ji (鸡: chicken) and female kinship terms, two prominent features of Linyu (淋语). This thesis attempts to analyse and evaluate several interpretations of the Confucian Analects under the light of Gadamerian hermeneutics. In chapter 1, I explicate Gadamerian hermeneutics and analyse Gadamer’s hermeneutical view. In chapter 2, I introduce a challenge to Gadamer’s theory regarding the problem of objectivity, give Gadamer a limited defence, and then reconstruct Gadamerian hermeneutics in order to answer the challenge. Chapter 3 deals with some further concerns about the application of Gadamerian hermeneutics in terms of evaluating interpretations. This study explores the motivation for learning Chinese language at the Dar es Salaam University College of Education (DUCE). The major objective is to find out the reasons that motivated learners to enrol into the optional Chinese language course. The data used in the study was gathered through questionnaires and structured interviews.
