神話的再現 : 論也斯〈養龍人師門〉的文學改編, Ming Yan Lun, Pui Ki Law

也斯的〈養龍人師門〉是一則神話文學，寫於1975年，收錄於《養龍人師門》一書。作者汲取了古代神話元素，配合魔幻寫實的手法，反映現實。以下將會追溯相關的典籍記載，繼而找出也斯所作的增補，最後分析該篇神話文學的幾個主題，探討作者的創作意義。

成神的枷鎖 : 從〈女化蠶〉淺談傳統社會的價值觀念, Wai Yan Chau

蠶桑絲綢之業，中國為最早的起源地，商代甚或更早時期已有蠶絲業，「甲骨文中不但有『桑』、『蠶』、『絲』、『帛』等字，而且從桑、從絲的字多達一百餘個」110；且以絲綢的經貿發展最盛，對外貿易之通道更以「絲綢之路」命名，謂中國為「絲綢之國」也不為過。由養蠶、抽絲、到紡織，養蠶一步是基礎，對蠶便有好奇：到底蠶的本源是怎樣？由是衍生不同有關蠶的神話故事，而《搜神記》（卷十四）中的〈女化蠶〉，據袁珂之說，亦為推尋蠶的本源而成，屬「推原神話」之一。

〈女化蠶〉所載的蠶女並未成蠶神，當中只寫到人間女子與牡馬由許下婚諾到失諾被化成蠶；至唐《原化傳拾遺》〈蠶女〉（《太平廣記》卷四百七十九），蠶女被封為「九宮仙嬪」，才正式成神。112觀其蠶女神化，能看出人們對蠶神的崇拜；歸回文本，由女子失諾受罰化蠶，演變到女子守孝成神，更能反映當時的社會。本文將先淺述蠶神神話的源起及流變，及後從文本中探討神話中所反映當時傳統社會的文化、價值觀。

《九歌》是十一篇以天神、地祇、人鬼為題的作品，其性質有多說，有賦其事說、祭歌說、諷諫說等，至令仍未有確切定論。《九歌》諸神並非全是楚地神祇，如河伯便是北方黃河的水神。河伯在南方文學作品中是一位浪漫的水神，在北方卻是惡神的形象，同一個神靈，在南北方卻有截然不同的形象，本文目的就要探討河伯神話的原貌及其形象差異的成因。

I examine the state of Tibetan Buddhism that exists in China in the 21st century and what are the best methods to increase religious freedom and political autonomy. I look at what cause China and Tibet to reach this point, and why do the respective nations do what they do. Man people fundamentally misunderstand the reasons why the Chinese Communist Party oppresses Tibetan Buddhism; they aren't concerned with eradicating religion, they want to simply maintain longterm political legitimacy in Tibet.

由原始社會，自人類有思考能力起，就對四周環境有無數推測。然而原始人類面對很多不能解釋的自然現象的時候，礙於知識水平，他們作出就現代科學而言不甚理性的推測，這是人類對自然現象解說的初步嘗試。1本文的主題是女媧，我們對她熟知的母題是人類起源的神話，因為先民思考「我們從哪裏來？我們為何有生老病死？為何我們有別於其他動物？」等關於人類自身的問題。2一般而言，中國神話奉女媧為人類的始祖，但女媧在神話中的形象複雜多樣，除了創造神和配偶神，還有救世神的角色，所以本文內容會圍繞上述的幾個角色續一探討。

The implementation of national educational reform in China calls for newer and stronger school administration. Recognizing the need to establish a knowledge base for leadership development, we employ a set of existing US professional standards for educational leaders as a frame of reference to unpack the complex role of Chinese superintendents. Using data collected from two surveys administered to more than 200 Chinese superintendents in 2007, we find that many indicators of leadership considered essential in the United States are also viewed as necessary for effective superintendency in China. This essay studies a tanci work, A Histoire of Heroic Women and Men (1905), as a case which reflects the intersecting themes of crossdressing, gender representation and the literary form of tanci. Written tanci, appropriated and redeveloped by educated women to tell stories of female crossdressers, scholars, and military leaders, offers a meaningful intervention in the dominant social and cultural discourses of womanhood in late imperial China. In the fictional realm, women’s acts of crossdressing transcend the Confucian ideological prescriptions of feminine identity, displaying their heroic efforts to pursue autonomy in a patriarchal culture. This essay will explore the narrative mode of feminine melodrama in Love in a Fallen City, a novella by the Shanghainese writer Eileen Chang (1920–1995). Chang has gained international fame for her depiction of Chinese women in the tumultuous transitional period prior to the modern era, especially traditional women figures that are in stark contrast with the New Woman ideal portrayed by her contemporary writers. Born in Shanghai, Chang was a descendant of an eminent late imperial official and received western education in Hong Kong under the influence of her open-minded mother. This response to Zongjie Wu's "Interpretation, autonomy, and interpretation" focuses on the "battle between East and West" which contextualizes Wu's proposal to counter the current Western domination of Chinese pedagogic discourse with an "authentic language" recovered from the Chinese classics. It points out that it is impossible and undesirable to reject all Western influences. The dualistic opposition between East and West over-simplifies and blinds one to the complexity of China's history and culture, and unnecessarily limits future possibilities. Bloomberg, and more recently The Washington Post, have run stories about the visa problems of scholars who contributed to Xinjiang: China’s Muslim Borderland, a volume edited by Frederick Starr and published by M.E. Sharpe in 2004. The Bloomberg piece was exhaustively reported; the reporters who wrote it, Dan Golden and Oliver Staley, conducted interviews with Chinese as well as western participants in the episode, and all in all did a good job with a complicated story.
