معنى لغتنا الزاهرة : النامية المشرقة والمتلألئة بالبيان والمعاني البلاغية والألفاظ الفصيحة ذات الخصائص المتميّزة. واللغة العربية ارتبطت بها إضاءة التفكير اللغوي، مع فجر الإسلام ، وأخذ العربي والعلماء يتفكرون في خلق السماوات والأرض من خلال كتاب الله عز وجل. واللغة العربية قديمةقدم الإنسان، فكان موطنها في الجزيرة العربية، وسط العالم القديم المعروف تاريخيا.

وقد تميزت اللغة العربية أنها فوق مستوى العام، فالعامةلا يصطنعونها في لغتهم، أما النص القرآني باعتباره نصا عربيا فكان أسلوبه إعجازا وتحديا لخاصة العرب،، واللغة العربية المشتركة لا تنتمي صفاتها إلى بيئة محلية بعينها، فهي ليست لغة قبيلة واحدة، بل هي مزيج من لهجات فصحاء العرب. …

يقف هذا البحث على حقيقة مفهوم مصطلح (الأصول) ودلالته من منظور لساني في كتاب ابن السراج (الأصول في النحو) إذ يوحي عنوانه أنه كتاب في أصول النحو العربي السماع والقياس والإجماع واستصحاب الحال.

While much ink has been spilled by musicologists on the legal standing of music in Islamic jurisprudential scholarship, few scholars have offered as comprehensive a view as Lois Ibsen Al-Faruqi. Thirty-five years after her major works on this issue, this article seeks to reassess her model of musical legitimacy within Muslim scholarship. Al-Faruqi places Qur’ānic recitation at the apex of a unidirectional continuum of sound art, with genres less similar to the recitation of the Qur’ān located progressively further away from it. This paper examines the wemen are portrayed in the Palestinian folktales. Of special interest are the so-cial spiritual, psychological and sexual portrayal of women in the roles they assume: mother, sister, wife, daughter, daughter-in-law and fellow wife. It also investigates both the negative and positive mythical depictions of women in Palestinian folk tales. Later, the paper draws a comparison between this portrayal and the way women are featured in modern social and psychological science. Inspired by the relevant approaches, particularly the mythical ap-proach, the paper used the descriptive analytical approach.

The story we read in books about the Renaissance tells us that Petrarch and Poggio rediscovered the books of antiquity that had been copied for centuries in medieval abbeys. The re-introduction of Greek science and philosophy, however, began in the twelfth century but occurred mainly in the thirteenth century. These works were first translated into Syriac and Arabic in the eighth and ninth centuries and stored in the House of Wisdom in Baghdad. The purpose of this thesis is to analyze how law reform toward gender equity has an impact on economic growth in Arab countries in the Middle East. Personal status law reform granting women economic, social, and personal freedoms is spreading across the region and showing substantial change. Using case studies of major PSL reforms in Tunisia and Morocco, this thesis outlines qualitative and quantitative evidence to support the case that gender equity benefits the economic growth of the given country.

Maya Abu al-Hayyat (born 1980) is a Palestinian poet who thematizes motherhood, love, war/revolution, grief, and political hypocrisy in her poetry. In the context of Palestinian literature, she fits within a tradition of Resistance Literature, yet redefines it. Given that al-Hayyat has not been widely translated into English, this thesis presents 33 translations of her poems taken from her three poetry collections: Mā qālathu fīhī (Thus Spake the Beloved, 2007), Tilka al-ibtisāma-- dhālika al-qalb (This Smile, That Heart, 2012), and Fasātīn baytīyya wa ḥurūb (House Dresses and Wars, 2016). This dissertation is a history of the economic, social, and political life in Arabia, the Arabian Gulf, and the Indian Subcontinent from the mid-nineteenth to the mid-twentieth centuries. It draws on materials from al-Qasim, Kuwait, Bahrain, Karachi, Bombay, Calcutta, and London, in addition to travelers’ accounts. These materials and accounts are used to explore the extent and significance of al-Qasim’s international trade between Arabia and India through the Arabian Gulf. Texts, Language, And History In The Madhab-Law Tradition: A Study Of The ShāfiʿĪ School, Tarek Ghanem

This thesis advances the study of the legal literature from the madhhab-law tradition by way of studying the Shāfiʿī literary tradition and its two most authoritative classics. These two works are al-Nawawī’s (d. 676/1278) digest Minhāj al-ṭālibīn and Ibn Ḥajar al-Haytamī’s (d. 974/1567) commentary on it, Tuḥfat al-minhāj. This study will provide a typology of the development of the Shāfiʿī juristic texts. The typology is based on an indigenous and coherent periodization centered around an analysis of the intellectual and social developments within the Shāfiʿī legal tradition, not the classical Eurocentric periodization scheme.
