Penelitian ini membahas mengenai motif pelaksanaan Reforma Agraria Jepang (nōchi kaikaku) yang terjadi pada masa pemerintahan SCAP tahun 1946 – 1950. Pembahasan tersebut meliputi latar belakang sejarah terjadinya pelaksanaan Reforma Agraria Jepang, pelaksanaan Reforma Agraria Jepang, serta dampak dari pelaksanaan reforma agraria terhadap Jepang. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif dengan penjelasan disajikan dengan deskriptif. Pengumpulan data bersumber pada buku dan jurnal yang khusus membahas mengenai Reforma Agraria Jepang. Data yang telah terkumpul kemudian dianalisis menggunakan teori pelaksanaan reforma agraria oleh Warriner (1969). Much of the literature on the Black studies movement has focused on the academic programs and departments established during this formative period. ABSTRACT

The purpose of this multiple-case study was to explore how four US-born Muslim college students spatialized their linguistic and cultural identities within and across their social, academic, and religious spaces. The data were collected through detailed and in-depth data collection methods involving multiple sources of information: observations in the above-mentioned spaces, focus group interviews, autobiographies, drawings, images, and narratives. The data were analyzed through spatial analytical perspectives.

This study was drawn on Lefebvre's (1991) Spatial triad of perceived, conceived, and lived spaces, Soja's (1996) interpretation of spatiality and Thirdspace, and Bhabha's (2004) concept of Hybridity. This study presented how …

This work seeks to name how the Black Lives Matter movement, and related movements for Black liberation and justice, has had an effect on the self-perception and identities of US-based Afrolatinos. Using survey and interview data, I tease out issues of ethnoracial dissonance, social identity, and the ways that Afrolatinos have used the context of Black Lives Matter to make sense of the antiblackness they have faced. This is a significant investigation because it speaks to the potential for a richer tradition of pan-Africanism taking root in Latin America and among Latin Americans of African descent.

This study explores how translanguaging pedagogy was practiced in a New York City Chinatown middle school to engage emergent bilingual students (EBs) with diverse language literacy backgrounds in their study of the grade level social studies curriculum. This chapter analyzes the significance and limitations of utilizing Gloria Anzaldúa’s framework when examining Mexican transnational communities of Mesoamerican ancestry after they return to Mexico. In this way, this chapter calls for a better understanding of the historical and political factors that impact the identities of Mexican transnationals of Indigenous origin. Based on data collected during three investigations with transnational (pre)service teachers from Indigenous communities in the Mexican states of Puebla (2017), Tlaxcala (2017), and Oaxaca (2018), the author analyzes the pertinence of Anzaldua’s framework in understanding the subjugation and internal differences of Indigenous transnational populations.
