Phrasal verbs are probably the most common and representative constructions of all the multi-word expressions in English. Indeed, suffice it to see the large number of existing phrasal verbs, not to mention that new ones are constantly coined, which shows they are a very productive and perpetually evolving class. This article aims to draw up a brief typology of neological phrasal verbs and to provide examples of the most relevant contemporary phrasal verbs in terms of lexical innovation.
