The purpose of this transcendental phenomenological study was to describe Generation Z (Gen Z) teachers’ experiences with workplace relationships within K-12 schools in the United States and how they affect retention. The theory guiding this study was Donaldson and Dunfee’s theory on integrative social contracts as it relates to relationships in the workplace and retention of teachers born between 1997 and 2012. Moustakas’ transcendental phenomenological approach was used to examine 12 Gen Z teachers’ shared experiences with workplace relationships. The purpose of this qualitative transcendental phenomenological study is to explore how non-degreed career and technical adjunct faculty members nourish their pedagogical skillsets so that they can teach at the community college level. Throughout this research study, nourishment of pedagogical skillsets is generally defined as professional development. The purpose of this phenomenological study was to understand the academic performance and progress of students with disabilities at a high school in the Northeastern United States. The theory guiding this study was Maslow’s hierarchy of needs since it captures the benefits of meeting all learners’ fundamental and unique set of needs to motivate them to self-actualize or realize their full potential. A transcendental phenomenology method was used for this study. From Covenants To Classrooms: Uncovering The Impact Of Racial Segregation On Education In St. Paul, Minneapolis, And Duluth, Alexis C. Jones

Minnesota's history contains a narrative of segregation that not only shaped the physical landscape of its cities but also entrenched disparities in education and fractured communities. The racial covenants that first emerged in 1910 built the bedrock of housing segregation that led to segregated neighborhoods. The consequences of this systemic segregation extended beyond residential boundaries and infiltrated the corridors of education, where the harsh realities of racial imbalance often betrayed the promise of equal opportunity. By examining the interconnectedness of housing policies, school integration efforts, and community development, this study uncovers the roots of inequality and proves how Minnesota failed …

The purpose of this transcendental phenomenology is to explore caregivers’ and professionals’ experiences of supporting young children’s social-emotional learning in the classroom and its impact on early education in Western Pennsylvania. The purpose of this quantitative, corelative study was to determine if Social Emotional Learning (SEL) beliefs had an impact on teacher self-efficacy amongst teachers within a suburban school district population. Social Emotional Learning programs aim to address students’ negative social and emotional concerns. These negative social and emotional concerns amongst students also have a negative impact on teachers. This study served to educate and provide school level administration data on whether SEL beliefs impact educator self-efficacy. The purpose of this transcendental phenomenological study was to understand parents’ lived experiences in relation to their motivational beliefs for involvement in their children’s education in a K-5 foreign language immersion program. The purpose of this study was to examine the following prosodic elements: speech rate, turn-taking latency, number of interruptions, and utterance duration across two groups' neurotypical and autistic young adults. Furthermore, the end goal of this study is to help provide a baseline and clinical application of prosodic differences between autistic and neurotypical adults. Speech samples were collected from 11 neurotypical and 11 autistic young adults from the ages of 18-26. Speech samples were recorded responses from a 10-minute interview between two research assistants and the autistic or neurotypical individual. Purpose: The purpose of this qualitative phenomenological study was to identify and describe the brain break strategies used by exemplary primary grade teachers to support student learning for each of the three different types of brain breaks (breathing breaks, movement breaks, and mental breaks). A further purpose of this study was to identify primary teachers’ perceptions of which brain break strategies are most effective to support student learning.

U.S. schools have witnessed educational reforms that have shifted science curriculum and pedagogy within classrooms. Yet, all these reforms have failed to reduce the racial and gender gaps in STEM fields. In 2016, New York State implemented the New York State Science Learning Standards (NYSSLS) to address these gaps. Problems remain, however, with the NYSSLS standards. The NYSSLS do not offer teachers pedagogical practices with regards to implementation. Protein modeling aids in developing novel protein configurations that are critical in, for example, the pharmaceutical and environmental industries. However, the predictive capabilities of the protein modeling algorithms are limited due to a lack of experimental data on structure and function. To bridge this gap, Seigel Lab at UC Davis developed the Design to Data (D2D) program to catalog thermal stability and catalytic efficiency data sets on β-glucosidase B (BglB) variants. Over 300 BglB variants have been characterized. However, there are over 8400 possible BglB single-point mutations. We utilized Foldit software to design BglB mutants E26K, I170Y, and V398N. The …

The Chadraghona Christian Hospital serves the people of Bangladesh in a Christ-centered way, providing quality care for the people of the region. The hospital has several significant infrastructure needs, including a source of clean water. Currently, the hospital does not have a filtration system and draws its water directly from an adjacent river that is polluted and often cloudy with particulates. Prior work on this project, performed during the summer of 2022, began the design of the filtration system for the hospital. Archaeology is inherently a visual and spatial discipline and thus we should strive to center student learning within visual and spatial media. Apart from museum work, site visits, and fieldtrips, the traditional tools of the classroom, however, tend to only convey textual or two-dimensional abstractions of primary archaeological data. The latest digital 3D and eXtended Reality (XR) technologies (Virtual, Augmented, and Mixed) hold the potential for engagement with information in ways that more closely represent the true three-dimensional and visual nature of archaeological objects, spaces, and landscapes.
