This thesis examines the pedagogical usefulness of the antithetical reading model of textual deformation for the study of poetic works. No formal pedagogical plan exists for the education of students in poetic studies through textual deformance. This thesis does not go as far as structuring one in its entirety. Rather, it surveys the digital humanities landscape, showing a collective affinity within a number of textual studies approaches that advocate for textual deformance as useful for interrogating texts, and aligns the overlapping symmetries within those working methodologies with pedagogical imperatives like those embedded in Ryan Cordell’s Kaleidoscopic Pedagogy Laboratory—the intent being …

The brotherhood of French intellectuals committed to fighting fascism took shape in an unprecedented project during the winter of 1936-1937: a special issue of the journal Commune, which included translations of 24 Spanish poems published in El Mono Azul from besieged Madrid for those on the front. Conceived in urgency as a response echoing wartime action-poetry, this translation subsequently evolved into a full anthology in February 1937, Le Romancero de la guerre civile. Translation has long been a pedagogical instrument of choice in the hands of the traditional method, before falling out of favor with the emergence of methods hostile to the intervention of the mother tongue in a foreign language class. Part of a thesis about translating the Proustian idiolect, the article outlines the analysis of rendering patois, specific to Françoise. The two complete Romanian versions were achieved by Radu and Eugenia Cioculescu in the 60’s, and Irina Mavrodin in the 80’s. Linguistically significant for the servant class, Françoise speaks a savory French where 17th century French, patois, language faults, slang and innovations meet and overlay, making a clear analysis hard to accomplish. The article presents the expressive examples which underline translators’ disregard to idiolect, an aspect that ruins the prominent theme of the Proustian novel, the language.

These courses are unique in that they build upon a multilingual base for the acquisition of new languages through the method of intercomprehension. สารนิพนธ์ฉบับนี้มุ่งศึกษาขนบในการแปลชื่อภาพยนตร์บันเทิงคดีแนววิทยาศาสตร์ (Science Fiction: Sci-fi) ระหว่างช่วงพ.ศ. 2541-2555 และช่วงพ.ศ. 2556-2563 เพื่อค้นหาว่าในยุคหลังการแปลชื่อภาพยนตร์บันเทิงคดีแนววิทยาศาสตร์มีขนบการแปลอย่างไร และสาเหตุของการเปลี่ยนแปลงดังกล่าวคืออะไร นอกจากนี้ผู้วิจัยยังต้องการศึกษาว่าประเภทย่อยของภาพยนตร์นั้นจะมีผลต่อขนบในการแปลภาพยนตร์หรือไม่ โดยผู้วิจัยได้คัดเลือกชื่อภาพยนตร์ไซไฟทั้งหมดจำนวน 229 รายชื่อ และได้จำแนกประเภทย่อยของภาพยนตร์ในทั้งสองช่วงเวลาออกเป็น 5 กลุ่ม ได้แก่ ภาพยนตร์ไซไฟ-แอ็คชั่น ภาพยนตร์ไซไฟ-ระทึกขวัญ ภาพยนตร์ไซไฟ-ผจญภัย ภาพยนตร์ไซไฟ-ตลก และภาพยนตร์ไซไฟ-โรแมนติก จากการศึกษาผู้วิจัยพบว่า ในยุคหลังนั้น กลุ่มภาพยนตร์ที่มีแนวโน้มของขนบในการแปลโดยเคลื่อนเข้าหาวัฒนธรรมปลายทาง ได้แก่ กลุ่มภาพยนตร์ไซไฟ-ตลก โดยสะท้อนผ่านการใช้กลวิธีการแปลแบบตั้งชื่อใหม่ และกลุ่มภาพยนตร์ไซไฟ-โรแมนติก โดยสะท้อนผ่านการใช้กลวิธีการแปลความ ทั้งนี้การใช้กลวิธีการแปลความและการตั้งชื่อใหม่อาจทำให้ผู้ชมเข้าใจเนื้อหาสำคัญของภาพยนตร์และอาจทำให้ผู้ชมตัดสินใจรับชมภาพยนตร์ สำหรับกลุ่มภาพยนตร์ที่มีแนวโน้มของขนบในการแปลเเบบประนีประนอมระหว่างการเคลื่อนเข้าหาวัฒนธรรมต้นทางและปลายทาง ได้แก่ กลุ่มภาพยนตร์ไซไฟ-แอ็คชั่น กลุ่มภาพยนตร์ไซไฟ-ระทึกขวัญ และกลุ่มภาพยนตร์ไซไฟ-ผจญภัย โดยสะท้อนผ่านกลวิธีการแปลแบบทับศัพท์โดยการขยายความเพิ่มเติม ซึ่งการทับศัพท์เป็นการรักษาชื่อในภาษาต้นทาง และการขยายความเพิ่มเติมเป็นการสะท้อนเนื้อหาของภาพยนตร์เพื่อให้ผู้ชมเกิดความสนใจที่จะรับชมภาพยนตร์ดังกล่าว

สารนิพนธ์ฉบับนี้มุ่งศึกษาอุปลักษณ์เชิงมโนทัศน์ในตัวบทโฆษณาผลิตภัณฑ์เครื่องสำอาง รวมถึงศึกษากลวิธีการถ่ายทอดอุปลักษณ์เชิงมโนทัศน์จากต้นฉบับไปยังฉบับแปล การวิจัยนี้รวบรวมข้อมูลผลิตภัณฑ์เครื่องสำอางในกลุ่มผลิตภัณฑ์บำรุงผิวและเครื่องสำอางสำหรับตกแต่งทั้งหมด 240 ผลิตภัณฑ์จากเว็บไซต์ตราสินค้าที่มีทั้งภาษาไทยและภาษาอังกฤษ ผู้วิจัยศึกษาแนวคิดอุปลักษณ์เชิงมโนทัศน์ตามแนวภาษาศาสตร์ปริชานของ Lakoff และ Johnson (2003) แนวทางการระบุรูปภาษาแสดงอุปลักษณ์จากกลุ่มนักวิชาการ Pragglejaz Group (2007) และการจัดประเภทกลุ่มคำศัพท์ตามวงความหมายจากงานวิจัยเกี่ยวกับอุปลักษณ์เชิงมโนทัศน์ในตัวบทประเภทต่าง ๆ รวมถึงการศึกษาลักษณะภาษาโฆษณาและประเภทอุปลักษณ์ที่พบในโฆษณาเครื่องสำอางในภาษาอังกฤษและภาษาไทย และจากการศึกษาแนวทางการแปลอุปลักษณ์ตามแนวคิดแบบดั้งเดิมและตามแนวภาษาศาสตร์ปริชาน ผู้วิจัยได้เลือกใช้กรอบการวิเคราะห์กลวิธีการแปลที่ผสมผสานกันของ Deignan et al. (1997) Schäffner (2004) และ Toury (1995) ผลการวิจัยพบว่า ในตัวบทโฆษณาเครื่องสำอางภาษาอังกฤษที่คัดเลือกมามีอุปลักษณ์ทั้งหมด 29 ประเภท มีจำนวนรูปภาษาที่แสดงอุปลักษณ์ทั้งหมด 1,391 ตัวอย่าง ผู้วิจัยเลือกอุปลักษณ์ที่พบสูงสุดใน 10 อันดับแรก ได้แก่ อุปลักษณ์สงคราม แสง มนุษย์ สุขภาพ พืชและการเพาะปลูก สิ่งทอและเครื่องนุ่งห่ม เครื่องจักร ศิลปะ อาหารและโภชนาการ และภาชนะ ซึ่งจำนวนรูปภาษาที่แสดงอุปลักษณ์ทั้งหมด 1,166 ตัวอย่าง นำมาวิเคราะห์อุปลักษณ์ที่พบในฉบับแปลและกลวิธีการแปล พบว่าภาษาไทยและภาษาอังกฤษมีอุปลักษณ์ทั้งหมดนี้เหมือนกัน ผลการวิเคราะห์กลวิธีการแปลเป็นไปตามสมมติฐานที่ตั้งไว้ กล่าวคือ พบว่ากลวิธีการแปลที่พบมากที่สุดคือ 1) การแปลโดยรักษามโนทัศน์เดิม แต่รูปภาษาแสดงอุปลักษณ์ต่างจากต้นฉบับ ร้อยละ 51.41 ตามด้วย 2) การแปลโดยรักษามโนทัศน์เดิม และรูปภาษาแสดงอุปลักษณ์ตรงตามต้นฉบับ ร้อยละ 26.90 3) การแปลโดยไม่รักษามโนทัศน์ (ไม่มีรูปภาษาแสดงอุปลักษณ์) ร้อยละ 12.93 4) การแปลโดยใช้มโนทัศน์ที่แตกต่างกัน ร้อยละ 4.62 และ 5) การละไม่แปล ร้อยละ 4.11 นอกจากนี้ ยังพบว่ามีการเพิ่มมโนทัศน์ที่ไม่ปรากฏในต้นฉบับเข้ามาในฉบับแปลด้วย โดยสรุป การถ่ายทอดอุปลักษณ์เชิง มโนทัศน์ในตัวบทโฆษณาเครื่องสำอางจากภาษาอังกฤษเป็นภาษาไทแทบไม่พบปัญหาในการแปลที่มาจากปัจจัยทางวัฒนธรรมซึ่งอาจเป็นเพราะวัฒนธรรมปลายทางรับค่านิยมและวัฒนธรรมจากต่างชาติโดยเฉพาะเรื่องความงามมาอย่างยาวนาน จึงสามารถรักษามโนทัศน์เดิมในต้นฉบับได้เป็นส่วนใหญ่ ส่วนกลวิธีการแปลอื่น ๆ แสดงให้เห็นการปรับบทแปลในตัวบทโฆษณาเครื่องสำอาง

In the 1940s José María Arguedas and Francisco Izquierdo Ríos collected oral tradition stories from three separate geographical areas of Peru. The publication of these legends, myths and Peruvian tales (Mitos, leyendas y cuentos peruanos 1947) and its function as an historical record of cultural and national identity led Arguedas to national acclaim.
