The association between obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is well-established in children. However, there is a paucity of literature regarding this association in adults. The aim of this study was to determine if ADHD is more common in adult patients with OSA. All patients referred to a sleep center for sleep evaluation were administered the Adult ADHD Self-Report Scale and diagnostic polysomnogram. The ADHD screen is considered positive if 4 of 6 questions in part A of the screening questionnaire were answered abnormally. Cardiac hypertrophy often causes impairment of cardiac function. Xenon (Xe), a naturally occurring noble gas, is known to provide neurological and myocardial protection without side effects. The conventional method of Xe delivery by inhalation is not feasible on a chronic basis. We have developed an orally deliverable, effective Xe formulation for long-term administration. We employed 2-hydroxypropyl)-β-cyclodextrin (HPCD), which was dissolved in water to increase the Xe concentration in solution. The beneficial effects of long-term oral administration of Xe-enriched solutions on cardiovascular function were evaluated in vivo. HPCD increased Xe solubility from 0.22 mM to 0.67 mM (3.8-fold). Wegener’s granulomatosis is a vasculitis that affects small to medium blood vessels, generally occurring at the age of 64- 75 years with an incidence of 8-10 / 1,000,000 people. Meningoencephalitis manifestations are rarely found in Wegener’s granulomatosis with the incidence only in the range of 0-7%. Anti-neutrophil cytoplasmic antibody (ANCA) is often used in diagnosing Wegener’s granulomatosis, but negative ANCA can be found in 10-20% of cases. A 74-year-old man presented to the ER with an eight-month history of shortness of breath, cough, anorexia, and weight loss. He had emigrated from sub-Saharan African to the USA, where he was diagnosed and treated for coronary artery disease, heart failure, and stroke; was hospitalized several times; and underwent hernia surgery. Despite the complex care that he received in the USA for many years, the diagnosis of AIDS was continually missed for years, and the patient was eventually diagnosed at the age of 74.

A Gastric Bezoar is defined as an accumulation of indigestible foreign material found in an individual’s GI tract. The incidence of gastric bezoar is 0.3% as reported by endoscopy studies. These formations usually consist of insoluble vegetable matter (phytobezoars), hair (trichobezoars), or medications (pharmacobezoar). In general, they can be asymptomatic for many years or cause nonspecific symptoms including abdominal pain, early satiety, and weight loss.
