Background: Research suggests exposure to traumatic events is extremely common. Furthermore, risk of developing chronic health conditions or engaging harmful behaviors such as substance use later in life increases with more frequent exposure to traumatic events, especially during childhood. Best evidence recommends delivery of health care using a Trauma Informed Care (TIC) approach to improve outcomes such as anxiety or depression. This care approach guides healthcare providers on interactions with patients centered on the tenets of (1) safety, (2) trustworthiness, (3) peer support, (4) collaboration, (5) empowerment and choice, and (6) cultural, historical, and sex issues. Background: Registered nurses (RN) working in acute-care hospitals during the Covid-19 pandemic reported unprecedented stress. Walking between 7000-10,000 steps each day offers positive benefits such as improved mood, reduced stress, and reduction in overall mortality risk. Additionally, the American College of Sports Medicine’s (ACSM) Physical Activity Guidelines recommends adults should engage in 75 -150 minutes per week of moderate to intense activity for health benefits. Rare diseases (RD) affect children, adolescents, and their families infrequently, but with a significant impact. The diagnostic odyssey undertaken as part of having a child with RD is immense and carries with it practical, emotional, relational, and contextual issues that are not well understood. Children with RD often have chronic and complex medical conditions requiring a complicated milieu of care by numerous clinical caregivers. They may feel isolated and may feel stigmas in settings of education, employment, and the workplace, or a lack a social support or understanding. Due to improved efficiency and reduced cost of viral sequencing, molecular cluster analysis can be feasibly utilized alongside existing human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) prevention strategies. The goal of this paper is to elucidate how HIV molecular cluster and social network analyses are being integrated to implement HIV response interventions. We searched PubMed, Scopus, PsycINFO, and Cochrane Library databases for studies incorporating both HIV molecular cluster and social network data. We identified 32 articles that combined analyses of HIV molecular sequences and social or sexual networks. All studies were descriptive. Purpose: The purpose of this study was to examine a university-based dental electronic health records (EHR) database to identify sedation-related adverse events (AEs) and assess patients' behavioral outcomes during routine pediatric dental sedations (PDSs) in a dental school clinic.

Methods: A database was screened for patients younger than 18 years old who had received dental sedation in 2019. The qualifying EHRs were then accessed and sedations were reviewed for AEs, which were categorized using a 12-point classification system and the Tracking and Reporting Outcomes of Procedural Sedation Tool. Anxiety disorders are very prevalent in the United States. The most common type, Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD), affects 6.8 million adults every year. GAD can cause significant deficits in a person’s ability to function, decrease their quality of life and increases a person’s risk of attempting suicide. The purpose of this evidence-based practice (EBP) project was to improve the outcomes of adults diagnosed with GAD in an internal medicine setting by implementing a protocol composed of a combination of interventions. Background: The field of pharmacogenomics (identification of biomarkers regarding drug metabolism and activity to inform precision prescribing) is rapidly advancing for individuals on the autism spectrum, but these advancements are not equitably benefiting all communities. Specifically, utilization data suggests that Black families may be less likely to have access to clinical precision medicine supports. Moreover, historic underrepresentation of African-descended populations in genetic reference samples means that emerging research on precision medicine will retain these biases and perpetuate disparities in downstream clinical benefit. We hypothesized that providing mental health resources for adolescents and educating their parents and families would decrease the prevalence of substance abuse in the Camden, NJ community given that overdose death had risen 138% from 2014-2018. Educating parents and families on the importance of adolescents dealing with mental disorders may help evaluate the mental stability of their child and prevent them from turning to illicit substance to cope. Increasing the communication and the availability of resources for adolescents to turn to before resorting to illicit substances can have beneficial effects.

Background: Estimates for children with attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and comorbid sleep disorders range from 25-75% (4,5,10). Among childhood sleep disorders, behavioral insomnia is one of the most common, with the treatment of choice being behavioral parent training (BPT) (4). BPT therefore is a common treatment element for both sleep disturbance and ADHD and presents a unique opportunity for more holistic pediatric care.

Objectives/Goal: Our objective was to implement and evaluate a behavioral sleep intervention in an ADHD behavioral parent training (BPT) program. Goals of the intervention were to decrease behavioral sleep symptoms, increase sleep duration, and decrease ADHD impairment.

Introduction: Across the U.S., the prevalence of opioid use disorder (OUD) and the rates of opioid overdoses have risen precipitously in recent years. Several effective medications for OUD (MOUD) exist and have been shown to be life-saving. A large volume of research has identified a confluence of factors that predict attrition and continued substance use during substance use disorder treatment. Physical inactivity is a major determinant of obesity (Muerer et al., 2019). We examined impacts of the first year of the COVID-19 pandemic on consumer experience of NSW hospital and community mental health services, compared to their pre-COVID baseline.
