هدفت الدراسة التعرف إلى مستوى ممارسة مدربي الفرق الرياضية الجماعية في جامعة اليرموك لأساليب القيادة الخادمة وعلاقتها بمستوى التماسك الجماعي من وجهة نظر اللاعبين تبعاً لمتغيرات (الجنس، واللعبة). استخدم الباحثان المنهج الوصفي، وتكونت عينة الدراسة من (118) لاعباً ولاعبةً يمثلون رياضات (كرة القدم، وكرة اليد، والكرة الطائرة)، تم جمع البيانات باستخدام الاستبيان لقياس مستوى ممارسة المدربين لأساليب القيادة الخادمة، اشتمل على (43) فقرة موزعة على ستة مجالات هي: (الثقة، والتواضع، والخدمة، وتمكين وتطوير اللاعبين، والتفاني، والتوجيه)، ومقياس التماسك الجماعي المعد من قبل (Carron et al, 2002; 1998)، اشتمل على (19) فقرة موزعة على أربعة مجالات هي: (تكامل المجموعة لأداء المهمة، …

The purpose of the current study was to evaluate the efects of behavioral procedures, including relational training and multiple exemplar training on empathic responding of individuals who display racial bias. In particular, this study used a multielement design with fve adult participants to evaluate whether the presentation of relational frames of coordination and distinction between the participants’ values and the values of a person belonging to a group for which a bias existed altered empathic responses toward people belonging to such groups. This paper studies determinacy conditions in a monetary model with an interest rate rule. In addition to the inflation rate as an argument of the policy rule, we introduce a second argument: output, a case empirically relevant but overlooked in the existing literature on monetary models with flexible prices. Firstly, we estimate a model with money in utility and the production function. We find that an aggressive response to inflation does not necessarily guarantee determinacy anymore. A robust finding in managerial accounting research is that participants prefer contracts framed as bonuses to economically equivalent contracts framed as penalties. Another finding is that participants put forth more effort when facing penalty contracts than equivalent bonus contracts. Both results are commonly described as due to loss aversion, an integral portion of prospect theory. We test whether loss aversion is correlated with higher effort in an experiment with two parts. In the first part, we elicit individual participants' loss aversion using two measures. In the second part of the experiment, participants choose costly effort to increase the likelihood of …

Since the early-1970s, Transit oriented development (TOD) has been touted as a solution to a variety of urban problems, including traffic congestion, air pollution, and urban poverty. Subsequently, urban scholars have scrutinized “green” development like TOD to measure potential social costs – like the displacement of incumbent neighborhood residents. However, the methodological approach of these empirical studies has come under scrutiny recently, questioning the connection between gentrification and TOD. This scholarship argues that the widespread shortages resulting from the February 2022 recall of several infant formula brands following the closure of Abbott’s Sturgis plant are emblematic not of an acute market hiccup, but rather of a series of anti-competitive policy measures decades in the making. Using the aforementioned punctuating event as a guidepost, this analysis reviews the critical role that quality regulations, import restrictions, and procurement protocols within the WIC program play on concentration within the market for infant formula.

This article presents the development, implementation, and impact of a cultural competence course initiated by the Mentoring and Encouraging Academic Success (MESAS) Program at Utah State University (USU). The MESAS Program supports American Indian, Alaska Native, and Native Hawaiian students through various initiatives, including the Faculty Advocate initiative, talking circles, the Indigenous Knowledge Symposium, and the Native American Living/Learning Community. Under MESAS, faculty, staff, and non-Indigenous students are offered the cultural competence course which aims to increase an appreciation for the contributions of Native American and other underrepresented groups, while addressing institutional barriers to their academic success and social well-being. …

Research shows that perceived naturalness can bias beliefs about the positivity of items such as food, human talent, and vaccines. Yet, this research focuses on self-reports, which leaves open the implications it has for behavior. In four studies (N = 492), this research team tested if perceived naturalness impacts trivial and meaningful behaviors. Participants were asked to consume a purported natural/synthetic performance drink (Study 1), test a purported natural/synthetic drug that would be injected (Study 2), eat chocolate containing a purported natural/synthetic cocoa described as causing stomach discomfort (Study 3), or choose a sticker purportedly made with natural/synthetic ink …

This research examines urban best practices (BPs) across Latin America and the Caribbean to illuminate the prevalent issues and actions associated with these locally implemented initiatives. An analysis of 45 BPs from the UN-Habitat repository was conducted using both quantitative and qualitative methods, organized into three phases. The first phase focused on collecting data such as BP sources, countries of origin, and years of implementation. The second phase identified common problems and actions within the BPs. The third phase involved a cross-sectional analysis to identify significant patterns and trends. The study found that many BPs originated from the Dubai International …

As funding agencies and publishers reiterate research data sharing expectations (1), many higher-education institutions have demonstrated their commitment to the long-term stewardship of research data by connecting researchers to local infrastructure, with dedicated staffing, that eases the burden of data sharing. Institutional repositories are an example of this investment (2). They provide support for researchers in sharing data that might otherwise be lost: data without a disciplinary repository, data from projects with limited funding, or data that are too large to sustainably store elsewhere. This study explored municipal law enforcement active shooter response training, tools used in response to active shooter incidents, and community policing policies practiced by the agency. Background: Millions of US adults experience underrecognized hearing loss, despite effective treatments. Interestingly, hearing loss has been suggested to be further exacerbated in populations of Alzheimer’s Disease. It is hypothesized that structural and functional features of auditory brain organization, which make it vulnerable to neurodegeneration, may heighten susceptibility to hearing loss, although it is unclear how ethnicity impacts its epidemiology. Here, we sought to address this gap by exploring the association between self-reported hearing loss and cognitive decline in Hispanic and non-Hispanic patients across the Rio Grande Valley (RGV).

Design science research (DSR) generates knowledge that informs problem-solving and has emerged as a viable research paradigm in Information Systems doctoral research. Doctoral research students are, however, confused by the number of options available when selecting an appropriate literature review method for design science research.
