Relationship Between Enrollment, Retention, Alumni Giving, And Financial Health At Historically Black Colleges And Universities, Kenneth Mercury

Decreasing financial health damages an organization’s reputation and economic viability to survive. Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) leaders must strive to improve their financial health to protect their institution’s reputation and risk of closure. Grounded in strategic enrollment management theory, the purpose of this quantitative ex-post facto study was to examine the relationship between student enrollment, student retention, alumni giving, and financial health of HBCUs. The participants were 101 HBCUs collected from the National Center for Education Statistics and the Voluntary Support of Education databases, from 2020 to 2022. The Earth location scheme based upon spherical coordinates, known as latitude and longitude, was developed by the Greeks over two thousand years ago (National Geographic Society 1999). This system was applied and expanded to include arc minutes and seconds to the gazetteer and maps generated by Ptolemy (ca. 90-168 AD) (Wilford 2001). Accurately determining latitude and longitude has been a focus of geographic inquiry ever since, spanning the technological realm from protractors to the Global Positioning System. Reasonably accurate latitude determination was mastered by the ancient Greeks from solar angle measurements, but the determination of longitude took much longer. Longitude, …

Predicting Attendance At Southeastern U.S.A Musement Parks Using Accessibility- And Amenity-Based Models, James Andrew Mccall, Joe Weber

This research examines the extent to which traditional geographic concepts of proximity can explain attendance to amusement parks in the Southeastern United States. Accessibility models were calculated for nineteen parks using both miles and driving times as measures of distance from population centers. Results show only weak relationships between attendance and distance from population. To test whether other factors are more important predictors of attendance, regression analysis was carried out using variables describing amenities and characteristics of the parks. Gĩkũyũ and settler colonist women’s life histories were analyzed using textual analysis of first-person accounts to understand the ideologies behind women’s perceptions of land, place, and human-environment relationships, and to fill a gap in the literature on women in central Kenya. Earlier studies have focused on social relations between Gĩkũyũ and colonists, social issues affecting these groups, or land as an important, but nongendered construct. Our major finding was that the women’s understandings of humanenvironment relations and place reflected gender awareness, but overall were consistent with the dominant ideologies of men from their cultural background and time. This paper explores the relationship between per capita income and the Human Development Index. In an attempt to create a diverse data sample, I examined the states and territories of India, a country that is both culturally diverse and exceedingly diverse in terms of human and economic development. The objective of this study is to determine whether there is a correlation between per capita income and social capabilities—primarily access to health care and education—as measured by the United Nations Human Development Index. This paper investigates the spatial dynamics and characteristics of the securities and commodities industry. The study investigates the observed geography of the securities and commodities industry sector at the metropolitan statistical area (MSA) county scale. The research provides a descriptive analysis of observed growth and identifies high-performing states and MSA counties. Additionally, we examine if the diffusion pattern of securities and commodities activities has followed the general spatial dynamics of the product cycle model at the state scale. During the COVID-19 pandemic, the University Libraries at Western Michigan University closed the Harper C. Maybee Music and Dance Library, and moved its collections to Waldo Library, the main library on campus. This decision was the result of budget cuts at Western Michigan University during the pandemic, and the University Libraries’ response to operate within our budget by consolidating services and collection spaces. The Maybee Music and Dance Library was closed, along with the rest of the campus libraries, in March 2020. The music and dance collections were moved between March and May of 2021,after which they were available to …

This dissertation will investigate Rousseau’s critique of how commercial society devalues soldiers and families and the responses provided by defenders of commerce. I will examine Rousseau’s corpus to demonstrate how Rousseau viewed commerce as a threat to both the responsibilities that men in a political community must be willing to fight and die for their country, as commercial societies intensify the hedonistic risk-averse calculations within members of the community. Indonesia has the largest coral population in the world, contributed as the world’s second largest ornamental corals exporter after Japan. Coral trade sparked the issues of habitat destruction, illegal trade, and coral health problems has prompted the government to banning of ornamental coral export. This study aims to find an empirical evidence does the policies mentioned above affect the condition of coral reefs in Indonesia. The author uses the Fixed-Effect Model on the Difference in Difference regression equation whose result show that export banning of ornamental corals does not significantly affect the condition of coral reefs in Indonesia.

This study examines motivations for adopting the Protocols for Native American Archival Materials (PNAAM), the factors that might impact implementation of PNAAM in practice, and an exploration of how and why new ethical standards are accepted or rejected. The researcher conducted a survey in 2023 of archivists and/or memory workers working at non-Tribal institutions that have some materials about Indigenous people. The study was designed around the respondent’s perceptions of authority, skills, knowledge, relationships, and resources both as individuals and within their repositories.
