The Passing Show, examines the interface between contemplative practices and the destabilizing effect of the carnivalesque. A repurposed early 20th century merry-go- round is reconfigured as a conceptual vehicle for renewing our attention to removing hindrances. The site-specific installation, titled Vimoksha, is viewed through the lens of the radical imaginary, investigating notions of karmic inheritance through a heuristic approach to material processes, personal history, kinetics and sound.

This research explored how fine arts can enhance a lesson or a student’s learning experience and the perceived effects of art integration on students and teachers. Intrinsic motivation to learn resulted in academic success at the secondary and collegiate levels and career success at the professional level because the students felt confident in their abilities. Because the forensics-drama coach was the primary factor affecting students’ forensics-drama abilities, a greater understanding of the sources of forensics-drama coaching efficacy was required to discover how to better serve the students. งานวิจัยนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์ เพื่อ 1) ศึกษาวิธีการสร้างสรรค์ การอนุรักษ์ และการจัดการเรียนการสอนจิตรกรรมไทย 2) พัฒนารายวิชาจิตรกรรมไทยร่วมสมัยเชิงอนุรักษ์หลักสูตรศิลปศึกษาระดับปริญญาบัณฑิต การวิจัยนี้เป็นการวิจัยและพัฒนา โดยเลือกกลุ่มตัวอย่างแบบเจาะจง (purposive sampling) แบ่งเป็น 3 กลุ่ม 1) ผู้เชี่ยวชาญ 5 ด้าน ได้แก่ อาจารย์ผู้สอนในรายวิชาจิตรกรรมไทยจากหลักสูตรศิลปศึกษา อาจารย์ผู้สอนในรายวิชาจิตรกรรมไทยจากหลักสูตรศิลปบัณฑิต ศิลปินไทยร่วมสมัยที่มีประสบการณ์ด้านการสร้างสรรค์ผลงานศิลปะไทย นักอนุรักษ์จิตรกรรมไทย นักประวัติศาสตร์ศิลป์และทฤษฎีศิลป์ 2) สถาบันระดับปริญญาบัณฑิตที่มีการสอนรายวิชาเกี่ยวกับจิตรกรรมไทยในหลักสูตรศิลปศึกษา จำนวน 2 แห่ง 3) นิสิตระดับปริญญาตรี สาขาวิชาศิลปศึกษา โดยใช้เครื่องมือในการวิจัย ได้แก่ แบบสัมภาษณ์ และแบบสังเกตการสอน แบบสังเกตพฤติกรรม แบบประเมินผลงาน แบบประเมินความพึงพอใจ และแบบรับรองรายวิชา ผลการวิจัยพบว่ารายวิชาจิตรกรรมไทยร่วมสมัยเชิงอนุรักษ์ประกอบด้วย 5 องค์ประกอบดังนี้ 1) วัตถุประสงค์ เพื่อให้ผู้เรียนมีความรู้ความเข้าใจเกี่ยวกับจิตรกรรมไทยประเพณี การอนุรักษ์จิตรกรรมไทย และจิตรกรรมไทยร่วมสมัยทั้งในด้านทฤษฎีและปฏิบัติ เพื่อที่จะสามารถพัฒนาผลงานจิตรกรรมไทยร่วมสมัยเชิงอนุรักษ์ได้ 2) เนื้อหา ด้านจิตรกรรมไทยประเพณี ได้แก่ คุณค่าในด้านเนื้อหา รูปแบบ และเทคนิควิธีการ ด้านการอนุรักษ์จิตรกรรมไทย ได้แก่ การอนุรักษ์ในเชิงสงวนรักษาที่ครอบคลุมถึงหลักการอนุรักษ์เชิงป้องกัน และการอนุรักษ์ในรูปแบบศึกษาและเผยแพร่ ด้านจิตรกรรมไทยร่วมสมัย ได้แก่ แนวทางและวิธีการสร้างสรรค์ผลงานให้เกิดความร่วมสมัย 3) วิธีการสอน ใช้การบรรยายในด้านทฤษฎี ส่วนการปฏิบัติใช้วิธีการสาธิตและให้ทดลองปฏิบัติด้วยตนเอง พร้อมทั้งมีการศึกษานอกสถานที่ 4) สื่อการสอน ได้แก่ วัสดุในการทำงานจิตรกรรมไทยของผู้เรียน ภาพประกอบการบรรยาย รวมถึงผลงานและสถานที่จริง 5) การวัดและประเมินผล ด้านพุทธิพิสัย วัดจากความรู้ความเข้าใจของผู้เรียนเกี่ยวกับคุณค่าของจิตรกรรมไทยประเพณีและหลักการอนุรักษ์จิตรกรรมไทย ด้านทักษะพิสัย ประเมินทักษะปฏิบัติการทดลองเทคนิคทางด้านจิตรกรรมไทยและผลงานจิตรกรรมไทยร่วมสมัยเชิงอนุรักษ์ โดยประเมินกระบวนการทำงานควบคู่ไปกับผลงาน จิตพิสัย วัดจากการนำเสนอคุณค่าทางด้านจิตรกรรมไทยประเพณี ผลจากการประเมินผลงานจิตรกรรมไทยร่วมสมัยเชิงอนุรักษ์ของผู้เรียนจากการทดลองใช้รายวิชาพบว่า ภาพรวมอยู่ในระดับ ดีเยี่ยม โดยในด้านเนื้อหา ผู้เรียนทำได้ดีที่สุดในการประยุกต์ใช้เนื้อหาเรื่องราวทางสังคม ประเพณี และวัฒนธรรมมาสร้างสรรค์ผลงาน ด้านเทคนิคและกระบวนการ ผู้เรียนทำได้ดีที่สุดในการเลือกใช้วัสดุในการสร้างสรรค์ผลงานได้อย่างเหมาะสม และด้านการสร้างสรรค์ผลงาน ผู้เรียนทำได้ดีที่สุดในส่วนของความสมบูรณ์ของผลงานการสร้างสรรค์ ผลการสำรวจความพึงพอใจของผู้เรียนต่อรายวิชาที่ทำการทดลงใช้พบว่า ภาพรวมอยู่ในระดับสูงมาก (x=4.88) โดยประเด็นที่ผู้เรียนพึงพอใจมากที่สุด คือ …

With the demise of analog photography, the workings of light, which seemed an obvious and transparent modality in an earlier era, have acquired a new salience. Instead of a transparent medium that seamlessly links seeing and knowing, light is shown as having agency and a textured materiality, both of which inflect bodies and spaces. This resurgence is indicated in the recent spate of scholarship on the social and material cultures of light, the infrastructures enabled by light, colonial practices of light (which is my own point of entry into the subject), anthropologies of luminosity, and geographies of darkness.

Many current social and emotional learning (SEL) programs cite building trust as a key factor to an effective SEL program. Despite these references, however, they often lack an emphasis on teaching methods of building trust between students and their peers, the teacher, and the environment. An arts equity gap exists in K–12 grade education. African American and Latinx students have fewer opportunities for access to arts education than do White students. In California, charter schools have an opportunity to address the equity gap for students in those demographic groups.
