Background: The purpose of the study was to analyze changes in the body posture and to assess the differences in posture between women and men with PD. Material/Methods: A group of 32 patients were examined, who were members of the Parkinson’s Disease Association in Kielce. Body posture was examined by an optoelectronic method – Diers formetric III 4D – using raster stereography. Results: Enlarged chest kyphosis (hyperkyphosis) was observed in 11 (34.37%) individuals. Enlarged lumbar lordosis (hyperlordosis) occurred in 10 (31.25%) patients. Deepened chest kyphosis and lumbar lordosis (hyperkyphosis-hyperlordosis) was noted in 3 (9.37%) individuals. Background: The aim of the present study was to assess the posture and somatic parameters in adolescent male handball players compared to non-athletes and determine whether a relationship exists between the posture and the volume of training and/or its frequency. Material/Methods: Sixty-eight adolescent male handball players and sixty-nine non-athletes aged 15–18 were examined. The posture was evaluated by the moiré method. Results: Handball players exhibited smaller and less frequent asymmetries compared to the nonathletes. Statistically significant differences were found in the position of shoulder blades (p < 0.05) and pelvic alignment in the frontal (p < 0.001) and transverse (p < 0.05) planes. The spinal shape in the sagittal plane did not differentiate the training subjects from nonathletes. The study also revealed weak correlations between the training period and a deviation of the spinous processes (r = 0.25), a symmetry of the shoulder blades (r = 0.25), and an inclination angle of the thoracolumbar segment (r = -0.26). No correlations were observed between the training frequency and posture parameters. Conclusions: It can be concluded that despite the predominance of asymmetric elements, handball training does not negatively affect the posture in the frontal and transverse planes.

Background: In this study we evaluated the effect of exercise with increasing intensity until exhaustion on muscle tissue oxygenation in children. Furthermore, we tested the hypothesis that a decrease in muscle indirect blood flow (O2Hb) predicts the anaerobic threshold determined by analysis of ventilation parameters. Material/Methods: Five, young, school-aged tennis players were engaged in this study (age 16.2 ±1.63 years, VO2max 56.7 ±2.00 ml · kg-1 · min-1). Background: The main purpose was to evaluate individual kinematic characteristics in highly trained sprinters during the „set” position, block clearance and a 20-m acceleration phase, as well as to determine differences and/or technique similarities. Material/Methods: The measurements were carried out on two sprinters, members of the Polish national team. A wireless portable MyoMotion system (Noraxon Inc., USA) was applied. The aim of the current investigation was to examine the influence of the front and back squat variants on the hamstring and the quadriceps muscles kinematics. Eighteen male participants were recruited with 1 repetition maximum values of 122.7 ±16.4 and 88.7 ±13.9 kg for the back and front squat lifts. Participants completed both back and front squats at 70% of their front squat 1 repetition maximum. The aim of this study is to determine synergistic motor outcomes understood as sets of mutually dependent players’ motor abilities affecting the efficacy of performance skills of young volleyball players. The study was carried out during a national volleyball tournament for 150 boys aged 14-15 years. The matches were recorded with two cameras placed 10 m behind the end line, 1.6 m above the floor. The following parameters were assessed: attack efficacy, block efficacy, serve efficacy. The resolution of any dilemmas related to the implementation of the curriculum must take into account its objectives, generally speaking, developing the readiness of students to participate independently in health-motivated, sporting and aesthetically-motivated physical activity and to take health promoting measures. This article describes the assumptions of the original modular physical education programme for the first stage of education in the aspect of track and field. The physical education programme was designed for use in classes where the number of hours of compulsory physical education classes has been extended or for work with students with special physical abilities.

Background: Diseases of genetic origin are very often associated with oral disorders. One of them is Gardner syndrome (GS) a rare variant of familial adenomatous polyposis (FAP), whose main manifestation is colon cancer. Its most common oral cavity symptoms include osteomas, odontomas and impacted or supernumerary teeth. Material and methods: Medline (PubMed), Medline (Ebsco), Scopus and Google Scholar databases were searched oral manifestations of Gardner Syndrome.Results: Thirty-eight articles met inclusion criteria. One of the most frequently damaged structures of knee is the ACL. Among risk factors for ACL injury, particular attention is paid to anatomic ones-structural, hormonal, genetic, biomechanical, neuromuscular and environmental disorders. Correctly performed diagnostics and rehabilitation after knee injury determine the effectiveness of treatment. Background: The aim of this study was analyze relations between postural stability indices and selected psychological factors in athletes practicing artistic gymnastics. Material and method: The study included 20 athletes practicing artistic gymnastics. The research tool was posturograph CQ-Stab 2P. The data were analyzed based on Pearson’s linear correlation, or alternatively Spearman’s rank correlation.
