PURPOSE: To examine Medicare reimbursement for hip arthroscopy from 2011 to 2022.

METHODS: The seven most common procedures performed with hip arthroscopy by a single surgeon were gathered. The Physician Fee Schedule Look-Up Tool was utilized to access financial data of the associated Current Procedural Terminology (CPT) codes. The reimbursement data for each CPT were gathered from the Physician Fee Schedule Look-Up Tool. With the consumer price index database and inflation calculator, reimbursement values were adjusted for inflation to 2022 U.S. dollars.

BACKGROUND: Subchondral bone injuries, or bone bruises, are commonly observed on magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) after anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury. The current relationship between bone bruise volume and postsurgical outcomes remains poorly understood.

PURPOSE: To examine the influence of bone bruise volume on self-reported and objective functional outcomes at the time of return to play and 2 years following ACL reconstruction.

To develop and evaluate the feasibility of a short form of the Behavioral Assessment Screening Tool (BAST_mHealth) for high frequency in situ self-reported assessment of neurobehavioral symptoms using mobile health technology for community-dwelling adults with traumatic brain injury (TBI).

Design:

Prospective, repeated measures study of mHealth assessment of self-reported neurobehavioral symptoms in adults with and without a lifetime history of TBI over a two-week period.

Low-intensity (LI) aerobic exercise with blood-flow restriction (BFR) increases heart rate (HR), oxygen consumption (VO₂), and ratings of perceived exertion (RPE), sometimes to similar levels as high-intensity (HI) exercise. Distance runners may benefit from LI-BFR running in periods of reduced volume or intensity, possibly due to injury. PURPOSE: To compare HR, VO₂, blood lactate (BLa), and RPE during LI-BFR running and HI running without BFR. ปัจจุบันโรคไขมันพอกตับชนิดที่ไม่ได้เกิดจากแอลกอฮอล์ไม่มียามาตรฐานในประเทศไทยที่ใช้ในการรักษา จึงมักแนะนำให้ปรับเปลี่ยนพฤติกรรม โดยเน้นไปที่การออกกำลังกาย และการควบคุมการรับประทานอาหาร การศึกษาครั้งนี้มี วัตถุประสงค์เพื่อเปรียบเทียบผลของการฝึกแอโรบิกแบบหนักสลับเบา (HIIT) ต่อการลดลงของไขมันและพังผืดใน ตับในผู้ที่มีภาวะน้ำหนักตัวเกินและภาวะอ้วนร่วมกับโรคไขมันพอกตับชนิดที่ไม่ได้เกิดจากแอลกอฮอล์ เป็นระยะเวลา 3 เดือน ในอาสาสมัครเพศชายและเพศหญิง จำนวน 29 คน อายุ 18-60 ปี มีดัชนีมวลกาย 23-34.9 กิโลกรัมต่อเมตร2 แบ่งเป็นกลุ่มทดลอง 15 คน (อายุเฉลี่ย 37.87 ± 7.58 ปี) และกลุ่มควบคุม 14 คน (อายุเฉลี่ย 42.29 ± 9.36 ปี) ทั้ง 2 กลุ่มมีข้อมูลพื้นฐานไม่แตกต่าง โดยกลุ่มทดลองฝึกออกกำลังกายแบบ HIIT ด้วยการปั่นจักรยาน 3 วันต่อสัปดาห์ และทั้ง 2 กลุ่มมีการคุมอาหารเหมือนกัน โดยมีนักกำหนดอาหารคอยควบคุม ผลการศึกษาพบว่า อาสาสมัครทั้ง 2 กลุ่มสามารถลดไขมันพอกตับได้ (HIIT; -23.67 ± 31.51 dB/m (p = 0.01) vs. Control; -20.21 ± 32.91 dB/m (p = 0.04)) แต่ไม่พบความแตกต่างระหว่างกลุ่ม (p = 0.66) และไม่มีการเปลี่ยนแปลงของพังผืดตับในแต่ละกลุ่มและระหว่างกลุ่ม ( all p>0.05) มีเพียงกลุ่มทดลองที่สามารถลดมวลไขมัน (–0.74 ± 1.22 kg, p = 0.03) เปอร์เซ็นไขมัน (-0.69 ± 1.10 %, p = 0.03) visceral fat area (–4.41 …

Patient-centered care (PCC) is a core competency that should be required by all healthcare education programs, but little is known about its implementation in athletic training clinical experiences. Therefore, we examined characteristics of patient encounters documented by athletic training students implementing PCC behaviors. A multisite panel design was used to recruit 363 students from twelve professional athletic training programs (five undergraduate, seven graduate). Collegiate student-athletes experience an increasing number of mental health concerns. To help address these concerns and provide high-quality health care for student-athletes, institutions of higher education are being encouraged to create interprofessional health care teams that are specifically dedicated to managing mental health. We interviewed 3 interprofessional health care teams who collaborate to manage routine and emergency mental health conditions in collegiate student-athletes. Teams represented all 3 National Collegiate Athletics Association (NCAA) divisions and included athletic trainers, clinical psychologists, psychiatrists, dietitians and nutritionists, social workers, nurses, and physician assistants (associates). We sought to conduct a bibliometric analysis and review of the most cited publications relating to rugby since 2000 in order to identify topics of interest and those that warrant further investigations. Clarivate Web of Science database was used to perform a literature search using the search term "rugby." The top 200 papers by citation count were extracted and reviewed for the inclusion criteria: all subjects were rugby players. Following sport-related concussions, a multidimensional symptom interpretation may identify athletes with domain-specific problems when beginning to return-to-play (RTP). This study investigated whether a four-factor model of post-concussion symptoms (i.e., cognitive, physical, affective, and sleep-arousal) would identify student-athletes with persistent concerns not reflected by their total symptom score. Collegiate student-athletes (N=24,696) from the Concussion Assessment Research and Education consortium completed the Sport Concussion Assessment Tool – 3rd edition Symptom Evaluation at baseline and two post-injury follow-ups (i.e., beginning RTP and 6-month). Background Skeletal muscle (SkM) is a large, secretory organ that produces and releases myokines that can have autocrine, paracrine, and endocrine effects. Whether extracellular vesicles (EVs) also play a role in the SkM adaptive response and ability to communicate with other tissues is not well understood. Background: Increased posterior tibial slope is a strong predictor of anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) graft re-injury. A concomitant slope-reducing high tibial osteotomy (HTO) has been suggested to decrease re-tear risk in these cases although little is known regarding outcomes following ACL reconstruction with HTO, especially in elite athletic patients.

Indications: A 19-year-old National Collegiate Athletics Association (NCAA) Division 1 running back presented with an ACL tear, lateral meniscus tear, and posterior tibial slope of 19° (case 1).
