Purpose: Many athletes do not seek care for a suspected concussion for a number of reasons. Failing to do so can lead to persisting symptoms, longer recovery, or secondary injury. The Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB), along with knowledge of concussion, has been used to examine concussion care seeking. It is theorized that TPB components including attitudes, subjective norms, and self-efficacy are associated with one’s intention to perform a health-related behavior, and their actual behavior. In 2024, the NFL implemented kickoff rules intended to reduce the number of injuries during this play, and improve player safety. Prior research suggests that individuals with large amounts of fat-free mass (FFM) and muscle have elevated USG, but little is known about whether the time of collection (first-morning vs. spot sampling) and various nutritional factors influence these relationships. Sudden cardiac arrest (SCA) is the leading cause of death in youth sports, illuminating the essential demand for adequate emergency response, including cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), automated external defibrillator (AED) usage, and comprehensive emergency action plans (EAPs). Research shows that despite the importance of prompt intervention, the majority of youth club sports programs outside of the school setting lack the training and resources needed to respond effectively to SCA incidents. BACKGROUND: Comparing static postural stability between the involved and uninvolved legs in individuals 12 weeks after ACL reconstruction (ACLR), and against healthy controls, may provide insight into rehabilitation progression.

Background: The primary objective of this study was to investigate the association between preoperative hypertension and postoperative complications following open reduction internal fixation of distal radius fractures.

Methods: All patients who underwent open reduction internal fixation (ORIF) for distal radius fractures (DRF) between 2015 to 2021 were queried from the American College of Surgeons National Surgical Quality Improvement Program (NSQIP) database. Postoperative complications were reported within 30 days of procedure. We identified a total of 26,138 patients and 31.5% (n=8,225) of patients had hypertension. Hypertension was defined as blood pressure greater than 140/90 as documented in the medical record, requiring …
